Wruntag (quests, leveling up, special mechanics)

Description
Wruntag, the Possesed Dwarf

A dwarf with damage mitigation and speed scaling with sanity, ten quests to complete and level up, a levelling up axe, his own magic, extra loot, and a shaveable beard, where he stuffs some of his food.

He is intended to be balanced for PvE. He has to balance his sanity in order to achieve his goal. He can be be either tanky, while insane and so slow it's impossible to kite many monsters, or sane and having a normal speed. Effectively, he can work as berserkers did - after munching some green hallucinogenic mushrooms, he can enter the fight and take a lot of punishment before either he or his foe goes down. But he can't just back off whenever he wants.

Stats:
- 300 hunger, 100 sanity, 100 health
- Gets hungry 25% faster
- Gets tankier and slower when insane - up to 80% damage mitigation at 0 sanity, and 50% speed reduction
- +20 sanity and +5 health for each completed quest, up to 300 sanity and 150 health
- Permanent beard gives a small insulation, but overheating damages him more
- He hates fish

Unique axe:
- Starts with Wruntaz - a battle axe imbued with magic, and a couple of green mushrooms
- Wruntaz is as strong as a normal axe by itself
- Wruntaz can be used to chop trees with normal speed
- Wruntag loses a tiny amount of sanity whenever he's not holding Wruntaz, and others always lose a considerable amount of sanity whenever holding Wruntaz
- Wruntag can get better at using Wruntaz by killing new types of enemies
- After killing 42 different types of enemies, Wruntaz is as strong as a Dark Sword in Wruntag's hands
- Never gets wet
- Can't be knocked out of hands too far by Bearger, Moose/Goose and other sources
- There is no way to craft Wruntaz, but it is indestructible, and non-Wruntag players drop it upon logout

Quests:
- Has a demonic friend that will sometimes whisper to him when his sanity drops below 50%, giving him a total of 10 quests to complete
- Each completed quest gives a useful reward
- Each completed quest unlocks one type of magic that requires Prehistilator or Ancient Pseudoscience Station to unlock, and works through crafting tab
- One of the hardest quests unlocks runic magic, which lets Wruntag forge one of 3 types of runes

Runes:
- Rune of Berserking - induces insanity like a Nightmare Amulet, gives 80% damage mitigation, and slows down to 50%, lasts 0.4 day
- Rune of Hammering - increases hitting range, and gives attacks a small AoE, lasts 0.2 day
- Rune of Wruntag - gives 100% damage mitigation (invunerability), lasts 0.1 day
- Runes can be used by anyone, and work by activating/deactivating them from the inventory
- Activating and deactivating runes costs 5 sanity each
- Rune of Wruntag cannot be used together with Rune of Berserking, and two same runes cannot be used at the same time

Extra loot:
- Has 20% change to get double loot from mining and killing creatures, and 30% from picking tumbleweeds

Beard:
- He puts some of the food he eats in his beard, and he can get it back by shaving

Detailed mechanics:
- Speed scales linearly with sanity:
* 0% sanity - 50% speed
* 25% sanity - 63% speed
* 50% sanity - 75% speed
* 75% sanity - 87% speed
* 100% sanity - 100% speed
- Effective health scales linearly with missing sanity:
* 0% sanity - 80% damage mitigation = 500 effective base health
* 25% sanity - 75% damage mitigation = 400 effective base health
* 50% sanity - 67% damage mitigation = 300 effective base health
* 75% sanity - 50% damage mitigation = 200 effective base health
* 100% sanity - 0% damage mitigation = 100 effective base health
- His innate insulation is like rabbit earmuffs, but overheating damages him 50% more
- Wruntaz strength scales linearily from Axe level to Dark Sword level
- Wruntaz strength is linked to Wruntag, not to the axe itself
- Double loot from mining and killing creatures works normally, while double loot from tumbleweeds works by doubling the amount of items (so, e.g., the chance to get an orange gem stays the same)
- 20% chance that eaten food will be stored in one of 7 slots in his beard
- Shaving after 3 days yields one food item, shaving after 10 days yields four food items

Remarks:
It is my first mod. It took two weeks to make the art, and another week to program all features. I hope you'll enjoy it. I would appreciate some comments, especially about balancing of this character for PvE and PvP.

If you're a modder, feel free to use the code as you please, but ask me before using any of my art assets.

Donations:
If you liked this mod and would like to reward me for creating it, please consider donating DST skins, steam cards, and other steam items here: item donations.
Thank you for your donation, RedNoxas!

Known bugs/TODO:
* When logging out with the amulet active, the amulet switches off on login, but sanity is still 0.
* Incomplete dialogue, mostly descriptions.

For now please consider this mod not being maintained. I do intend to come back to it eventually after I resume playing Don't Starve Together, but it will not be in the next few months and there are many changes that need to be made and some things became obsolete. It seems something weird happened if the recipe in the Wruntag mod is replacing the original one as, at the time I was coding it, recipes were independent from each other.

The special lazy forager recipe replaces the default one entirely, you cant craft it as any character nor as Wruntag since you cant unlock it without a lazy forager. Can you please fix it?

can you update with the fav food starting items etc?

Zuerius, I checked by equipping Krampus Sack given with c_give("krampus_sack") - the one that drops from krampus (https://dontstarve.fandom.com/wiki/Krampus_Sack) , then I picked up into it 280 gold and that completed the quest. I also tried to fill the sack while it was on the ground and then picked it up and it worked. I sent you a friend request to talk this over. Just in case, please run the command ThePlayer:PrintStats() from game console (key `, type it, enter, then ` again to check the result) and check if there's "Klaus quest: not done" there.

It should be the same thing. Thanks for the bug report, Zuerius. I'll have a look at it.

Playing in Don't Starve Together and equipping a krampus sack full of 280 gold doesn't complete the quest. I tried relaunching the game and equipping it again. I tried putting the sack on empty and filling it, and equipping it already full. I got the krampus sack from killing Klaus if that is somehow coded differently then from killing a krampus.

I know. It is supposed to be the ultimate challenge. Normally it doesn't even give any reward aside from default Klaus loot, and with this mod you have it as a challenging end-game goal with a reward. Do you think the quests should be easier?

killing enraged klaus is harder than ancient guardian so uhh

I like giving the player the option, though it is also cool to hide it. However, I feel many players would get frustrated playing this character, discovering how hard the quests are, with what kind of feels like not a lot from it. Hiding that may just upset people in my opinion.
