Description
Low Health Alarm. It does what the title says.

This mod is added for those of us who can't see or are just to inattentive to the default UI and really could just use a sound queue to let them know they have almost no HP left.

It plays a beep once a second, for as long as your health is too low.

Changing the settings:
If you want to change the settings of this mod, you can download an unpacked copy from the GitHub repository[github.com].
You can also create a mod that overrides my mod's files, whichever option you prefer.

Changing configs:
  • Unpacked mod: Edit low_health_alarm.config to suit your needs.
  • Mod option: Create a json patch that changes the options.

Config Options:
  • alarmFadeTime: The time (in seconds) that the alarm will fade out over. Set to 0 to disable. (Default: 10)
  • alarmFadeVolume: The volume that the alarm sound fades to. (Default 0.75)
  • alarmCooldown: The time (in seconds) to wait between playing beep sounds. (Default: 1)
  • alarmThreshold: The percentage health (expressed as a number from 0-1) where the alarm will start or stop playing. (Default: 0.25)

Changing Sound Effects:
Unfortunately, for this mod to be able to work for everyone and not cause crashing issues when one player has it and another doesn't, custom sound effects are no longer supported.

You can also get this mod from the Chucklefish Forums: https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/low-health-alarm.4879/

So what did you replace the default sounds with?

you could create a mod to remove items after death, its working principle is quite simple, but it would give a completely different approach to the game, if all items from the inventory were completely removed after death, it would create a positive circulation of weapons and armor, which would equalize the balance of resources and items in large modpacks

I'd love a version of this that uses the Halo 3 ODST low health sound. (I use a halo soundtrack replacer so it would be very fitting) Either way great mod. I've been looking for something other than heartbeat

Im happy to say i just tested with OpenStarbound and i didn't got any crash playing with my friend when the health alarm started to sound. :luv:

Im glad about that because this mod is extreme important to use, atleast for me :GunfireRebornflower:

I've been using this mod for a while and i gotta say, If i didn't have it i would have died so much just because a lot of games, especially ones that i love playing, tuck the health bar into this tiny corner and don't have a way to make it apparent to the player just by looking at their character or listening for an alert-like sound to play for some reason

you dl the github version and point it at a soundfile you put in the mod folder, you don't have to .pa k it for it to work

to alter the mod do i just have to download the github version then find a file or do i have to code the entirety of red dead redemption 2

if you know how to alter this mod to use custom sound effects, you can, it just means you can't use it in *multiplayer*, as it will crash anyone else near you if the alarm is playing

if custom sound effects are not supported does that mean i cant use them in singeplayer

This isn't a bug per se but is is possible to have support for something like the "Shoggoth & Friends" mod with the "Cursed Sword" item that has a constant de-buff that always/permanently that leaves you at 1 health while held? I know it's not the most important thing but would be nice to have for a species with a gimmick like that
