Early Access Review
Pretty fun with a good group. I think this is the best evolution of a Lethal Company style game I have seen yet.

Played through this game on console before.
It is surprisingly good. Flarking great, one might say. The characters are very accurate and likeable. The amount of dialog and the quality and authenticity of it is insane. The story is shockingly good. I think I like it more than the trilogy of MCU movies generally. Not that they are tied together at all, this game is a standalone universe with a different version of these characters. And I am SO happy for that.
The world and environments are also super varied and detailed. With very cool and unique alien locations.

The weakest part of the game is the game-play itself. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either. And sometimes the movement can feel a touch jank, though it is generally pretty polished. It is the one mediocre part of the package. Well, maybe that sounds worse than it is. I do think it is the weakest part, but I still like it. And the rest of the package is so great it easily elevates it.

I love this game. I don't see how anyone would dislike it. It is just a blast the whole way through.

Very nice little tool. It really helps dialing in game settings to run the way I want in VR. I am surprised Steam VR itself doesn't seem to have a tool like this built in.

Heard this was a good FF game. I am trusting ya'll.(I'll update the review when I finish it)
Wanted to post this "review" right now just to let people know to use the "Untitled Project X" mod right away. The game seems to have a bad stuttering issue that was immediately very bothersome to me.
This mod fixed it, probably among other things as well. Definitely use it.

Wow. Quite fun.
Not sure why this game has mixed reviews. At the very least it is a good playing shooter. It feels like a faster Halo, but the Portal gimmick is super cool and useful. You don't have to use them as often as the first game, but when you do you it is very fun and a big advantage if people aren't paying enough attention to them.
The gameplay feels great. It has a nice look. It feels pretty balanced in general. The portals are cool. It is free to play. I am enjoying myself. Fun game.

Fun game. It is Ace Combat on steroids. I like that.

I do have one major complaint. I got this game to be able to play "ace combat" in VR. Problem is, it is not well optimized for VR. Even on a pretty high end PC(7900xtx), I can't really get the thing to run smoothly in VR without turning everything down to its lowest or off. Which DRASTICALLY worsens the games look.
It does work and is very cool. But I am disappointed it is not easier to run in VR to get a good experience.
The best balance I found was to lock at 60fps and just deal with the ghosting of re-projection. Then I can at least get shadows to "low" and view distance to "high"(makes the biggest visual difference to have these settings higher), without dropping below 60 hardly ever. Everything else at its lowest or off.

That disappointment aside, the game is great. Just wish it was a better VR experience in terms of performance.

I have put a lot of time into this game over the years on console. I am new to PC.
This game is just super fun. Pure chaotic cinematic action, very addicting. I am glad it has yet to fully die and even makes random comebacks like at the time of this review.

The bad. The campaign kinda sucks. It is fun enough on a first play through I guess, but nothing worth caring about. The real meat is the multi-player.
Hackers. I am new to this game on PC, and this amount of hackers is new to me as well. Most games are fine, but be prepared to come across a cheater now and then. A bummer that it isn't uncommon, but oh well.
Grind. Kind of a pain to start the game over without my progress from my past platform. It takes a lot of time to max out abilities and unlock better weapons. And you are at a disadvantage as a new player until you play a lot to get on the same level.

That is all. That stuff aside, this game is still as fun as ever. Absolute blast to play. Now give me Battlefront 3, and don't botch the launch with extreme greed like you did with this one please.

I really like this one.
The spooky mysterious vibes and atmosphere are great. And the concept is fun. Trying to get supplies and get back without damaging your piece of crap car too much is always engaging.
I can see how this could get tedious for some after a while. The game-play loop is drive out, get supplies, get back and upgrade.
If you eventually tire of this(he he, "tire"), I can see how the game can become repetitive and dull. I have yet to reach a point like that but I just want to list the potential issues you think you might have with a game like this.

For me, the environment and world really carries the whole experience. The random anomalies to constantly avoid, taking care of your car, the spooky vibes and amazing music, the gorgeous visuals, etc. Its all a great motivator. Over time you start to care for this crappy car as your only lifeline in a very hostile and confusing world.
If you like "extraction" games, going in and out in a loop of supplies gathering and upgrades, this one is great. I don't particularly like that genre myself, yet everything else about this one is just so cool and intriguing that I ended up liking it a lot.

This exceeded my already high expectations after playing It Takes Two. We need more games like this.

It is an absolute blast from beginning to end. Creative, fun, beautiful, polished, and jaw dropping at times. I am honestly in awe of this game and the studio behind it. To make a game so purely fun and awesome and amazing in every way blows my mind.
If you have anyone to play this with, you are doing a disservice to yourself by not playing it.
