not salt and sanctuary, if anyone is looking for that. has more of a loop of hunting mages. which, in and of itself, isnt bad. it can get a bit tedious or monotonous at times. run out. kill mage. come home. level up. repeat. but that can still be fine.

to me the issue is mostly things like getting stunlocked to death, or killing a boss just for one of his stray shots to hit me and poison me after his death animation, and the game counts it as loosing the fight, or just small things like that which make the game feel either A: intentionally designed to screw you with inconsistency, or B: just...unfinished.

i did enjoy the story/world/lore. enough to continue with the tedious loops. but the inconsistencies killed it for me

wait for it to go on sale for about 5 bucks. thats bout all i spent on it, and thats probably the only reason i dont hate having bought it.

the game and idea of it all is interesting, but the game still feels very early access. laden with bugs, npcs/enemies/characters getting stuck on nothing, and generally feeling incomplete as a game. once all of these are fixed, and the game can run smoothly i would change my reveiw. but until then, its still incomplete.

Early Access Review
really fun couch (or online) co-op game. playing on your own gets a little stale, but shines with a small group (still fun regardless). my only gripes are that you cant cancel an attack with a dodge, and that there arnt very many skills to utilize in the game. hopfully more will be added later. but still. worth getting.

controles are a little weird, given you can move left, right, forward, and back. but can only really shoot left or right. your attacks are entierly dependant on where you are currently standing. not aiming. but the enemies can be slightly off center and perfectly safe until your surrounded. you CAN get used to this, but even then the stages are kind of bare. not much to them. honestly i had more fun with the little card game mini game. that being said its not nessisarily bad either. if on sale, not a bad cheap pick up.

Early Access Review
not terrible. i enjoy the way exp and skill building works (preforming certain tasks will level up certain skills. rather than gaining a new skill point each level). and creating your character is really fun. between choosing a profession for certain skill buffs, and selecting from a list of positive traits, and balancing it by making you choose from a list of negative traits too. the traits buffing or de-buffing skills or even things like endurance, health, regain, or even vision. it makes for some interesting fun build, or just build your own actual character. (the looks creation leaves a lot to be desired though.

i personally just dont care for the gameplay mechanics. i feel like i have indirect control of my character. navigating between stats, loot, inventory, is a little annoying (not game breakingly so). but still. im still giving it a positive review because i do like these types of games. they are updating it frequently from what i can tell. and its still not a bad game in and of itself. just, again. not my style. im going to keep coming back to check the quality of life changes. but til then im just going to stick with 7 days to die

Early Access Review
i enjoyed it, for what it was. an early access game in which the developers are still working on. art is cute, gameplay is fun. there are a few things that can be worked on, but its still in development. i can tell from what there is in the game, the devs clearly love this project. i can see the final outcome being something amazing.

only thing i actually dont like at all is melee. basically if you dont have ammo, the game punishes you, since its impossible to melee an enemy without taking damage yourself (but ammo is fairly cheap to craft. so it works out anyway).

all in all, its not buggy (least not for me), and has a solid start for a great game. cant wait to see more

its not terrible. its not good. the concept is really fun, but i found myself WANTING to like it, more than actually liking it. a lot of it is just pretty rough. needs some polishing. but over all, playing just felt like a chore. with no real reward pay off at the end. nothing is particularly hard in the game. just the simplest things are really tedious.

that being said, it is still free to play. for a free to play game, its still good. but probably more enjoyed with freinds (i tend to run solo). and you lose nothing for trying it. but it would be better with some fine tuning

good, but not nessisarily for everyone. there is more to it than just "walking simulator". planning routes, equipment needed, balencing that equipment with cargo (there is only so much you can carry after all), etc etc, that puts more strategy behind it than one would originally assume. then add in "stealth/combat" style gameplay, to work your way around threats, it is interesting. its no metal gear solid. but gameplay is still a good mix of fun and relaxing.

story wise, it is imaginitive and captivating. at least to the point it makes me want to understand it more. i wont go and say this is hideo kojima's best work. but it is certainly a good one. leaves me waiting on baited breath for his next project.

my only real complaints are 1: you cant go 5 minutes without gameplay being interupted by a call telling you about yet another aspect (at least in the begining stages). and 2: there are things that arnt particularly intuitvie. im constantly having to stop what im doing to think "wait.. how do i do ___ again?" and in the middle of hostile territory, thats not particularly good.

over all, its worth getting. though im glad i waited til it was on sale.
