Modern twist to my old friend. Been playing Larry since 86DX2. Trust me, can't get any better than this. A lot of well deserved homage to it's roots. Clever jokes, perfect ratio of difficulty. Hope they gonna provide more Larry adventures in the future or any other adventure games related or not.

Good job!

To start. If you played Her Story. This one is not as good as that one. With that said. There are 3 different endings as well as multiple story going on. I would say the reason this game gets bad reviews is 3 main reasons.

1. This one is more straight forward.
2. One sided conversations take some time to get use to. And trying to find the matching video. To the games credit when you catch on to the time and date stamps this is a little easier. And if you book mark every video and sort them by date.
3. And this is my biggest issue. Why the hell do I have to rewind a video to watch it? First off the game is all done on a PC so wtf? This is really annoying when my word finds a 7 minute video and my word is at the end of this video.

Over all tho I did enjoy this game and its multiple story's.

My take away is this. If you liked Her Story's game play style and would like a game where its not trying to figure out the truth of something, but rather how someone went from A to Z then try this game. There is ALOT going on in this game.

One word of advice tho. There are 170 different videos with the final clip of the game.. And you need to watch about 145 of them to see everything that happened. It was worth dealing with it. If you want the story but none of the fun. Youtube has a 6 hour video for you guys

This game is freaking awesome! I love the mechanics and the funny side of the game. It reminds me Atari gun controller shooting games. I enjoyed the game a lot. Buy this game if you would like to play a short but very intensive shooting game. I enjoyed mostly crazytrain arcade mode which forces you to only head shot with nonstop combos. You can also play this game split-screen with your relatives. Thumbs up!

Back in the late 2000s/early 2010s, there was this little game studio called Gaijin Entertainment that really wanted to make a hack-and-slash game featuring a blonde in a bikini. That game was called X Blades and apparently was not very good. Its sequel/reboot, Blades of Time, however, is what I would call a good videogame. I'm glad I finally got a chance to try this game, and I'm glad to be able to say I enjoyed it. It makes use of all its combat tools to their full potential, between your spells, you swords, your guns and time rewind mechanic, I found myself having to make use of all of these mechanics all at once to deal with the onslaught of enemies the game throws your way. The enemies seem monotonous at first but there is indeed some depth to them, resulting in exhilarating battles and the aforementioned full realization of the combat tools Ayumi is given. Platforming and puzzles are passable with some rather dodgy bits, but bless their heart they really explore the time travel mechanics in the level design as well. The desert level is a standout, which isn't something you would usually say of most games. Great gameplay, solid level design, and the pretty lady struts around in a bikini, this honestly might be one of the most well-aged vintages from the PS3/Xbox360 era. Highly recommend.

I want to like this game and spent a few playthroughs really trying to, but the core issue is that it's just a flat, thin experience with very limited variability.

The biggest issue imo is that all the characters have super detailed backgrounds you can read, hinting at a deeper story, cool character interactions, maybe secret missions etc... but in reality every character is a one-dimensional cardboard cut-out. The British Mi6 guy says the exact same things as the Nigerian woman who grew up on the street. They might as well have named them Agent 1, Agent 2, Agent 3...

That's not even to mention that most of the game is played by choosing text bubble responses to problems, with completely random effects. Choosing agents based on skills seemingly has little effect, as sometimes you'll just get messages saying you lost a scientist or an agent and there was nothing you could do because all the options to choose were the wrong option. It's a bit sad, because there's hints of a great game in here.

Games like this are why i checked to see "adult content" games. In "City of Broken Dreamers" you play a "Ghost" a freelance Special Ops type who do various jobs for corporations (or Corps as they are called) in a cyberpunk type future. You are hired by a certain corp to locate a certain girl. So it also has elements of "hardboiled" Detective stories too. I am honestly having more fun in this than an A-list RPG from Bethesda or Obsidian. But I admit I am biased. I LOVE a good cyberpunk game. I want to make an important point now: THIS IS A VISUAL NOVEL, NOT AN ACTION GAME. There is action in the story but it's told through pictures and text. You DO get to make the choices though. It's actually a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game with pictures. There is a limited amount of replayability in the game but at least it's there. If You like Cyberpunk, Sci-Fi, Detective stories, or good VNs You can NOT go wrong buying this game in my opinion. I bought it on sale bundled with the strategy guide DLC. It is a full walkthrough of the game. Oh, the "adult content" is high quality as well. Those scenes are all graphics in case you wondered. HIGHLY Recommended.

I like this game for a balance of many reasons. The renders for one are very well done and the animations for the sex scenes are top notch; so I'll just say that first and get it out of the way. Aside from how the games looks I'd say the plot is one of it's big successes. There's a lot that keeps people talking about this game because there's so much going on with the characters in game and so much left to be revealed.; not everything is brought into the open right away. Is it the best writing ever? No but it's still extremely well done and not something you'll often find in adult games like this one. The game can be funny at times like your interactions with character Derek or events that occur between the Jocks and DIKs. But there's also different levels of drama depending on which characters you interact with. Some have more than others (so far), and some have drama still yet to be revealed. It can get heavy at times so it may not be for everyone but it feels like a great mix to me.

Speaking of the characters...many of the girls in this game are gorgeous, but also don't come across as simply being a bunch of brainless sex dolls. Many of them have their own plots and motivations and some are easier to get into bed than others which makes sense according to each girl's character and varying personalities. You also never feel blue balled because while you can't have sex with every girl right away there are still plenty of them you can screw around with if you choose to. Supporting characters also run a decent range of archetypes. No matter which ones they are they tend to make you care about them whether you love them or hate them; and that goes for the ones that may not have a lot of screen time as well.

Finally there's the smaller elements that make up the game that come together such as the mini games, phone apps (which is some of the best usage I've seen of one in a game like this), bonus images, multiple paths, making choices matter, high replay value, as well as the music selected. Dr. Pinkcake ties all of these things together making Being a ♥♥♥ more than just another adult visual novel. Those are the things that have stood out about this game to me and made Being a ♥♥♥ one of if not my favorite adult game so far. Is it perfect? No, there's always room to improve (which he does if you look at the renders improve more and more through each episode), but what this game does it does exceptionally well. If someone is looking for something more from their adult games this is definitely the one; possibly the best of it's kind to date. I'd advise giving it a purchase and play through for sure; this game and creator deserve the support. :)

Art 10/10
The characters and landscapes are absolutely breathtaking to look at, absolutely top-notch.

Music 10/10
This is a game where you definitely want to leave the music turned on, and kept at a loud volume, because it's amazing. The battle tracks make combat feel more exciting, and the tracks that play during key story moments are perfectly tuned to invoke feelings pertinent to those moments.

Writing 6/10*
The overall story is a solid one, but the execution is flawed. The quality level varies wildly over the course of the game, and while it does have its great moments, this variance does it a disservice. Many story elements are similar to The Banner Saga, but in a way that feels like unintentional copying rather than an artful homage.
*It also must be mentioned that English is not the native language of the writers, so some things have been muddled by the translation. They are working on this.

Gameplay (Non-Combat) 8/10
There is a wide expanse of potential choices in the game - including a whole host of factors that lead to many different endings, making it quite replayable, for those that enjoy doing so. Some events you can encounter along the way are subject to randomness, adding just a bit more, though a lot of this stuff ends up having a rather minor impact on the actual story or gameplay, it's mostly just to keep things fresh and help add more atmosphere.

Gameplay (Combat) 4/10*
This was the aspect of the game that I ended up feeling was weakest, by the time I finished. Especially compared to the Banner Saga, the combat feels less polished, less strategic. There are some abilities which seem to serve almost no purpose, there are times when you seem to have no real strategic choice (for any number of reasons), and there are certain optimal tactics which - once you figure them out - make it almost impossible to lose.
*The Multiplayer is also currently in an unfinished state, but they are working on improvements.
