Really fun rpg dungeon crawler!!! Epic boss fights, cool characters and LOOT LOOT LOOT!!! Very nice and active devs who actually play with members of the community! Great game, highly recommend!

I love this game with all my heart..... BUT.... unless you have friends to play with... DO NOT BUY. The game is dead.

Ive only got about 5 hours in this game so far.... BUT HOLY F*CK i am completely hooked!

I love pretty much everything about this game so instead of talking about things i do like... im gunna speak about a few things i dont like so much....

Why does my gun holster itself when i jump down a ledge or crouch to crawl??? seems..... silly.
Why cant i sprint while my pistol is out?? seems.... silly.
Why is their no key binding to steady firearm while aiming??
There should be a prompt the first time you are required to control 2 seperate people at the same time that if your engineer gets killed he dosent respawn like your main character does. PERMADEATH IS NEED TO KNOW INFO!
Lastly in all honesty the game is HELLA expensive for its current state, however i know the game is still in its early stages and i assume that there will be tons more content coming!!!!
I would love to see a LEVEL EDITOR!!! I would be really excited to build insane levels for the steam workshop to have other explores download them and attempt to get thru them in 1 piece!!!!

In one of the missions you are supposed to use your 3 engineers to assist your character along his way.... however there is no prompt letting you know that u have multiple characters in this specific mission.... no pop up, no notification.... NOTHING... so for an hour i ran around with my main character dying on repeat wondering what the HELL i was doing wrong. I actually had to seek out a walkthrough to see what was up and only then did i realize i had the use of 3 other characters... This definately needs work.
(WELP TIME TO ADD TO THE LIST AGAIN...) for some stupid reason you cannot reload while your moving.... even if youre just casually walking... this i have a huge problem with... really stupid.


I will be adding to this list im sure once i get the chance to play a little more.
So far.... 7.5 out of 10. REALLY ENJOYING MYSELF DURING THIS 1ST play through.

I really want to give this game a positive review because the game itself is VERY good........... but Ubisoft completely ruins the experience with awful servers, horrible connectivity issues and insanely bad customer support.

Started out a single player career on semi-pro difficulty and was winning every game 18 to 0...... Then switched the difficulty to pro and was winning every game 10 to 0. So i switched the difficulty to legendary and every time my team mates got the ball they literally just casually passed the ball to a player on the other team. WHO THE **** MAKES A GAME WHERE UPPING THE DIFFICULTY DOSENT INCREASE THE OTHER TEAMS AI DIFFICULTY BUT MAKES YOUR TEAM A BUNCH OF USELESS STUPID IDOITS...... SHOULD HAVE KNOW THIS ♥♥♥♥ WOULD BE HOT ******* GARBAGE..... THEY SHOULD BE ******* ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES CHARGING 80$ FOR THIS PILE OF ****. **** THIS GAME.

Ok, honest review time.

I wont waste anyone's time with this review. If you skate in real life, you can relate to this game. If you don't skate in real life this game will not keep your attention for long enough to matter.

Skater XL has very complicated controls that take near perfect accuracy, timing and precision to use properly (I AM PLAYING WITH AN XBOX ONE GAME PAD). The game uses both joy sticks one for each foot, and depending on where your joy stick is pointed your foot will move freely around the board making regular, fakie, switch, and nollie seem very fluid and seamless. These controls also make it possible to "Shifty" tricks by switching foot position after tricks are caught which i thought was VERY cool and super unique. Unlike Tony Hawk games and "Skate" games rails do not auto lock you on to them when you are near, u need almost perfect accuracy to hit a rail or you're going down. When trying a trick with a "180" in it like a backside flip for example, turning during the flip trick feels like work. Its difficult, and requires good timing and foot position to avoid bailing or landing all sketchy like. Honestly it took me about 10 hours of game play before i became properly comfortable with the controls.

The game looks about average. It is fairly closely comparable to skate 3 in terms of looks. I found myself being a lot less concerned with the look of the maps or textures in the worlds and more concerned with how the actual skater looks. Not only how he looks, but his movement was also very important. In games like Tony Hawk your skater was pretty much comparable to a sheet of drywall on a skateboard. Basically no realistic character movement at all at any point in time even when just pushing along. The skate games drastically improved character movement in almost every aspect but it always felt to me like there was something missing and Skater XL made me realize what that something was. Your ability to move your feet around on your board and your ability to flip tricks more quickly or more slowly means that you could throw the same trick 5 times in a row and it will never really look the same. Your ability to point your feet and manipulate your board anyway you please at anytime will lead to some TWEAKED flip tricks and actually landing on your front truck ONLY!!!!!, when nose grinding something! Your character will actually move like he is trying to keep his balance when grinding something or in a manual instead of just keeping perfect posture while slowly falling over sideways like in other skate games and when doing a trick over a MASSIVE gap your character upon landing will properly put his feet over the bolts and absorb the impact but the amount of character movement upon landing depends on how high you are falling from which really adds to the overall immersion. Skater XL in this aspect is really in a league completely on its own.

The content had me tripping at first..... with basically no character customization items like shirts and shoes and stuff i was kinda worried. The game only has 5 maps in the base game and although they are pretty good maps after 20 hours of game play I really needed more to keep me playing... Holy crap this game has full mod support!!!!! From right off the pause menu, with one click you can browse almost 40 pages of community mods ranging from hundreds of decks and wheels to insane amounts of clothing and skin colors. There are also a bunch of new maps to download which are very well made and very fun to skate and everything can be downloaded and installed live in game with literally one click of your mouse! Once again in this aspect Skater XL is in a league above all the rest.

The soundtrack isin't the greatest...... i mean i wouldn't remove any of the tunes, but you better make sure you have got Youtube or Spotify handy after an hour.

The price is borderline too much..... but that feeling kinda goes away with 16 gigs of mods installed.

THIS REALLY IS THE BEST SKATEBOARD GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. Hands down no questions asked if you skate in real life or are a fan of skateboarding in general and are willing to put the time in to learn the controls, this game will scratch an itch no other game can.

Hello there! I first and foremost want to get this outta the way really quick.... I DID NOT OBTAIN THIS GAME FOR FREE IT WAS PURCHASED UNDER MY OWN FREE WILL WITH MY OWN MONEY.


Secondly, i am a die hard Rally fan and i have been since i was a little child.

I have a lot to say about "ART OF RALLY".

Graphics : I chose to start with graphics because it is literally the worst thing about Art of Rally, and concidering the fact that the old school blocky art style of this game in my opinion is "COOL", "REFRESHING" and completely modernizes this game in some strange semi-arousing kind of way, only heading up in quality from here is a VERY good start.
The colors are FANTASTIC!!!! The scenery is FANTASTIC, the stages are all randomly generated with an endless possibility of tracks plus the game uses models of "REAL CARS" (with different names) that are super important and only add to the overall immersion. Car models from old Cosworths, Porsche, Lancia, Audi AND SO SO SO much more. I was very VERY pleased with the overall car selection :) And to cap it all off a very simple and easy on the eyes menu system makes for a pleasant experience outside of the car.

Music: The music is actually one of this games strongest points! Growing up in the 80s and early 90s i was exposed heavily to retro music. AND THIS GAME HAS NOTHING BUT RETRO !!!!!!!! Turn the volume up and prepare to get AN EAR FULL OF KEYTAR BABY LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!

Gameplay: Initially i was worried about the game play..... I usually find myself playing games like "Dirt Rally" and "Assetto Corsa" and didn't think this game had a chance in HELL of being anywhere close to as enjoyable as those games to play... BOY WAS I WRONG. This game has VERY good physics to go along with a relatively controlable steering system that makes for an overall very good game play experience. You don't need to be f**king Mario Andretti to play this game is what i'm getting at. To be honest i'm fairly confident that someone who has never played this game could pick Art of Rally up and within one night be drifting corners up a mountain in Japan somewhere.... DON'T BE SCARED HOMIE, THIS GAME IS ULTRA PLAYABLE FOR ANY SKILL LEVEL!!!!!!

Game play Options: Hmmmmm...... where to start??? Free roam mode? yes. Campaign mode?? YES! Time attack mode?? YESSSS!! Custom Rally mode?????? YESSSSSSSSS! ONLINE EVENTS?!?!?! YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Price: .... This was a little touchy for me.... The game is rather expensive for a plain and simple indie game, however with that being said....... QUALITY OVER QUANTITY ANY DAY! I paid 30$ for this game and have not had a single regret about a single penny! Money well spent if u ask me! And if my 30$ is gunna go towards helping this kick ass DEV. make future badass games like this then i'm all for it!


CONS!!!!!!! YES CONS! This game does have some things that in my opinion are lacking, nothing major.... But perhaps in the future they can be worked on.... Things like car camera views, the game only has about 7 views and they are ALL CHASE CAMS which kinda sucks but i understand the chase cam just fits the feel of the game. However maybe a bumper cam, or a roof cam would be a solid edition. Also i would love the chance to modify vehicles. Not large scale just things like rims, body kits, and suspension.

OVERALL i am going to give this game a 8.5/10 !!!!! DON'T JUST SIT THERE MAN, YOU NEED TO LEARN THE "ART OF RALLY"! -Thanks Pat.
