not to many people play it, and as a late Gen Z I never got to see when it was "popular"
but its still alive with a devoted player base that is quite friendly from experience, like a bunch of old friends hanging out together again, everyone knows each other.
sure there are toxic people, but that is for every game.
and during Christmas you can get it for under $1

how to commit theft:
step 1: wait for steam Christmas sale
step 2: buy this game + all DLC
your done!

if you are a half life fan and liked the last section of the hl2 then this isn't a bad game. the first third was pretty fun.
the middle is also pretty fun, but some things feel like chores, it is also confirmed alyx also hates poison headcrabs.
but the last section isn't fun the final strider fight is just a chore. but other than that not bad, and it was actually pretty creative all in all so it has that going for it. it just really isn't for me.

(also we can't go in the trains, and they don't operate like how trains should)
overall actually 7/10, I just gave this a thumbs down as it isn't really for me

this is a masterpiece of a game
I just cannot describe how much of a master piece this is.
if you are reading this wondering whether or not you should buy this just buy it

R A T S I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate RATS.

things I love:

the little details in the levels such as:
Toilets when flushed with TP in them, destroys the TP
you can interact with quite a few things and get a fun little text for example the PC when you interact with it says "I don't have time to play with myself"

the weapons feel powerful, even the pistols, they feel like there is a good amount of power behind them. and a weapon is NEVER obsolete, sickles, you'd think as soon as you get a gun you should never use them again, but no, they can deflect projectiles, and in intruder mode you start with them every level.

now this might not be the best for everyone, no game is perfect. but this game is pretty much a masterpiece, and it is only $20, and at the time of writing this (12/29/22) it is less than $10, meanwhile EA pushes out P2W games with micro transactions at full price ($60).

ok look this is fun and all but the Free campaign feel like BS
I destroy the french unit, then the AI spams units with Guard, I literally cannot win

no constant updates

still fun
