Early Access Review
The game feels incomplete and barebones right now.
Maybe after 1.0 it'll change. But as the things as they are right now, i would not recommend the game to anyone unless they are looking for something specific.

First of all. there is no personal progression/reward system. for a game that requires your investment, there is nothing personal reward that the game gives you. remember the french invasion? it fizzled out because there is nothing in place that helps the player be personally invested in the game.

Second. combat is lacking or not intuitive, handling and movement in this game just feels weird, maybe its because of a lack of a proper tutorial but i digress.

Third. there is a certain way that others get a advantage, is is through tweaking the resolution, this advantage should never exists in the first place. this just tells me that the developers never though about balancing the technical aspect of the game.

Fourth. doing the logistics part of the game is just plain boring, you literally just hammer away at a object to get scrap. that is not a fun game play, if you have no investment in the game then there is no personal reason for you to scrap anyway.

Fifth. for a game that revolves around teamwork, there seems to be no in game tools that helps in the management of the teamwork, there is no way to designate objectives aside from map posts, this leads to people just doing whatever they want during battle.

Hello, This will be my review of the game World of Tanks by the developer and publisher Wargaming.
First thing first, my steam playtime is low, but don't be fooled by that as i have been with the game since 2014. I am not a native English speaker, there will be grammar mistakes on the review ahead.

With that out of the way, i will first talk about the claims that Wargaming made on their steam trailer video. only the claims that i have something to say will be listed here.

1. Realistic Tank Models , this is mostly incorrect or misleading. while the tank visual models are fairly accurate and realistic, this changes dramatically once we look at the armor model of tanks, this is most likely noticeable on tanks which has a obvious weakspot in the visual model but does not exists in the armor model itself, for example, lets take the M4A3E8 (M4A3(76)W HVSS) which has a weakspot in the front machine gun port. in this game that weakspot does not exists. My Rating: Negative

2. Dozens of map , yes this game does feature a lot of maps, however in my own opinion these maps are not well designed and shows very corridor like passages which forces people to be specific in their gameplay, ofc map designs are a developer's way of making players play a specific way but i wish that we had more freedom than to be forced in to these situations. My Rating: Neutral

3. Work Together as a Team , OK so this will be a lil bit controversial as the developers has no way of foreseeing what a player will do in a game. Aside from the obvious that a winning team will get better rewards, players are heavily incentivized for their per-player performance. this lead into a conflict of interest among a team which can ultimately lead to losing a game. eg, some players may prefer camp instead of engaging in an assault. My Rating: Neutral

Ok, now that's over. What do i as a veteran of the game has to say?

1. This game is heavily pay to win. this exists in the game as a form of "Premium Tanks" which are almost always better than the "Tech Tree Tank" (Free tanks) variants. on top of performing better than the free counterparts, the premium tanks also generates more rewards per match. Premium Tanks used to be weaker than the tech tree counterparts but still made more money, however that was years ago. with this point as well, you will see the usual powercreep that the older premium tanks experience vs the newer premium tanks.

2. Pay more to be better. OK so this is normal part of the personal progression of players right? in the game you can upgrade your tanks to perform better, but at the cost of being unable to select the other upgrades (ie. downsides like slower reload times). however in the game there are Premium Ammo, some players may call them gold rounds as they are used to be obtainable for gold only. these ammo are much more expensive than your standard ammo, but they perform better. with how i explained earlier that premium tanks generate more currency, this in turn makes the premium ammo somewhat a pay to win item as the player with the premium tank will be able to afford more rounds than your normal non paying player. what more is that these rounds offer higher penetration values to your tank which means that tank armor is rendered moot when people can just use these rounds. so yeah your heavy tank which is supposed to be able to face weaker guns are now penetrable by the use of these premium rounds.

3. The in game vision system, the in game vision system is absolutely wonky and certainly needs a revisit. vision range is maxed at 445m, vision range that surpasses this cap will instead make the enemy tank's camouflage less effective, the opposite is also true that you can stack your own camouflage and be literally unseen to the enemy even when fully exposed. i just think that the current vision system is pretty bad and should at least be reasonable.

There are a lot of negatives to talk about the game, these are the things that are on top of my head while typing this review.
Overall, save yourself the time and trouble and play another game instead.
