Perhaps one of the good things to come out of 2020 is the huge spike in this game's popularity, as it has brought people from all over and with many different backgrounds into its grasp. I guess brutal cartoonish murder and mercilessly deceiving other people is a shared human pleasure. I recommend the game, but watching some of the many thousands of streams and videos of this game could be just as enjoyable if learning to play the game yourself isn't for you.

This game is a fantastic addition to the X-COM series. It leaves behind the traditional macro-scale focus we have come to know from XCOM 1 and 2 and embraces a very intimate experience as you follow one small team of agents managing the troubles of one city during it's recovery from the war.

The game is both personal and captivating; the story and gameplay complement one another to give you an incredibly close bond with your agents. Learning your agents strengths and seeing them grow in to masters of their art as they rank up and gain new abilities is delightful. Starting off with a freshfaced recruit and crafting them into a crazy one-man army (looking at you, Blueblood!) or crowd control machine (like seriously, Patchwork... wtf???) is immensely satisfying, but the game is paced just right so that the level of challenge remains mostly consistent despite this.

I cannot recommend this game enough! It is a delightfully refreshing take on the XCOM style, being the same old XCOM at heart, yet offering a completely different feel and atmosphere. Even if you have not played XCOM games before, this game is still a joy to play and if you have the time and money to spare on a new game, you won't be disappointed by Chimera Squad.

Terraria.

By now it's a classic, yet it's a game that keeps on giving. The satisfaction of getting that new item, beating each new boss, and getting an outfit so dapper the nurse won't be able to resist (or so I hoped, please love me Sarah).

The expansive range of options you can take in terms of weaponry, accessories, cosmetics and playstyles is awesome - leading to a large amount of replay-ability. The game also gives you plenty of options for creating truly stunning buildings, if you're into that kind of thing, and the game is so well known and loved that there's a vast amount of sources online to help with whatever you may need, from tips on the best items and complex wiring, to how to create beautiful structures, or simply just what to do next.

The game handles challenge well, with many stepping stones that encourage you to go away and become a force to be reckoned with before coming back to destroy that next boss or event. Furthermore, once you're familiar with the game you can step things up with Expert mode, which toughens all the mobs and bosses, but comes with a plethora of powerful new items and cool toys to tackle them with.

And that's only just the beginning, as the game has well integrated and easy to use multiplayer so everything you enjoy can be done with the charm of playing with friends.

In short, terraria is a great game with expansive gameplay options that has withstood the test of time, so if you're on the fence over purchasing this game, just get it and give it a try!
