Early Access Review
The thing I want to say most right at the start is that I wish there where more of it.

Playing the game solo is perfectly doable.
No major glitches or bugs.
The low poly style is cute.

I rate it a solid 8/10, would get sad again.

The game is short every play-through lasting an approximate 10 minutes.
I really don't want to play this game again if I don't have to, after some if the things I did/let happen to get all the endings I feel dirty/unclean.

I liked the music and the characters felt really compelling, the game play itself wasn't much of a challenge but it felt like it wasn't meant to be, its just a story about the characters and their journey.

I wish the game had turned out better.

After having completed the game I can say without doubt that the game is not as bad as I heard some people say it is. it's not a good game by any stretch but it's not that bad.
I liked the art direction and the music, but the level design felt a little bland at times.
The decision to use every button for a single action (even for the menu controls) annoyed me to no end as this prohibited jumping in costumes that had other functions.
I admire the aspiration to put 80 costumes in the game but feel that more than a few of the costumes are redundant as they fulfill similar if not identical roles, that is not to say that some aren't fun, I personally liked the sun and moon costumes.

During my time playing the game there were no glitches or bugs so it's got that at least. I have seen footage of the game struggling but have personally had no noticeable drops in frame rate.

I had a lot of fun replaying DS2 on pc, It's not as hard as I remember it being on the PS3 but that might due to me remembering some vague details from my time on the console version.

I don't recomend going for 100% completion as this requires either a lot of time in pvp covenants or at least 3 playthroughs.

It's fun and brings back the nostalgia from the old Newgrounds days.

I have not finished the game.
I feel that this game is not really deserving of a strong opinion in either the negative or positive.

the game itself is okay, i'm not personally invested in the whole lovecraftian mythos, so some parts may have gone over my head, or not had the impact it was meant to have.

The character design was interesting and colourful (although mainly consisted of various shades of brown), and the sound design was suitably surreal??
The part of the game that i have played feels a little to linear. the setup of mystery and intrigue is done well enough, it just did not grab my attention in the right way.

I had fun with this game.

the games focus on working trough the levels as quickly as possible in order to keep up with the difficulty increasing over time was a fun mechanic that reminded me of Turtle Rock Studios Evolve , in the sense that you are trying to get as strong as quickly as possible so as to not fall behind on the power curve.

I genuinely enjoyed myself while playing this game.
The game sets the tone of the world straight out of the starting menu, showing what you will have to traverse.
The overall concept of the game is simplistic, a simple 2D platformer, however the game features a system that allows one to form words out of letters found in the worlds environment that have an effect on both the player and the world around them, boasting an extensive list of such words, making finding all of them an interesting challenge.

Basingstoke is a cute-looking isometric post-apocalyptic zombie survival game.

The game ain't easy and you will die a few times learning the workings and rules of the game. Playing this will keep you on the edge of your seat until you master the controls, understand enemy behavior and know how to use your surroundings to your advantage.

The sound is well done giving silent ambiance while exploring and only bringing in music when near monsters in order to build on those moments of tension.
