Only bad thing about this game for me is that I have to admit that my friend was right to make me buy it.

It is well worth 10 play throughs. I would do it just to romance all the companions.

Been a long time coming and it was worth the wait I really enjoyed the game and would highly recommend it. It's atmosphere is better than the other games but it is not as scary as Resident Evil 2. A lot of fun though, they have really improved the exploration in this game and the boss fights are awesome.

I am having a really tough time deciding whether I like this game or not (despite completing NG+ and getting all the achievements), this review might change when the I play all the DLCs that will be released for this game.

Wo Long is a combination of Team Ninja's Nioh and FromSoft's Sekiro. Being a huge fan of both these games, I have a lot to say about this game. Let's start with the things I like. Wo Long has the fast paced action of both the games it draws inspiration from, tight deflect timings and really nice boss designs and enemies. The level design is great, building on the same ideas from Nioh 2. There is a lot of variety of equipment options with the slasher looter play style giving you some freedom to use what you like and the character designer is just as versatile. Kind of a bland list of stuff really, derived from their older games.

Now the things which I don't like, the lack of skills, the single best part of Nioh, it kind of ruined it for me. Fixing the number of combat arts to two and making them random on weapons. Their attempt to replace skills with spells didn't work for me and since you can't choose specific skills for weapons, it killed build variety for me. Yeah, you can spec into a specific element for the spells and their passive effects but it kind of all melts together, you end up running the same kind of spells, a big AOE one, a smaller single target spell and a couple of buffs.

And then there are the technical and quality of life issues the game launched with it, these have mostly been resolved with patches since launch but certain things don't make sense, things that could have clearly been available from the beginning, the ability to compare equipment, the option to travel to different missions after completing the main mission and the dojo to try out stuff (which still isn't there). It makes me think the game absolutely wasn't complete for launch.

Like I said, most of these issues have been patched with some much needed loot and enemy balancing but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I sincerely hope the DLCs resolve these kind of things. I also wonder if this is how the Playstation folks felt when Nioh 1 and 2 launched since we PC players got the complete version with mostly all updates applied.

I will just conclude by saying what I said before, Wo Long is a combination of Team Ninja's Nioh and FromSoft's Sekiro but it has fallen short of both these games. It doesn't have Sekiro's hyper focused combat and fantastic story nor does it have Nioh's excellent skill trees and build variety. I am a fan of Team Ninja, I haven't lost hope that Wo Long will be an excellent game but so far I am disappointed.

I define completing a game or "beating" a game as the point at which I get to the end credits. This mostly works for everyone but for rogue like games, some might not agree as there is usually so much to do that you are basically never done.

But I still consider this definition to hold up for even rogue likes. The two that I have played before, Hades and Monster train gave me quite a bit of content to get through and a feeling of satisfaction when I did get to the credits but this is not the case for Slay the spire. I felt like I got to the end but didn't do much to get there.

Now Slay the spire came out before the games I mentioned previously so maybe that is my problem so while I recommend the game, I think you should only play it before any of the other modern rogue likes or rogue like deck builders which add more complexity and nuance to their gameplay.

This game reminded me of the fun of turn based combat. That along with a rich and evocative story, extremely likeable characters and the grand high fantasy setting puts this game into the upper echelons of all gaming.
I have always wanted to play D&D, alas I haven't found anyone near me who wants to, friends or strangers.
The internet said this game is the closest one will get to D&D and if this is true, actual D&D must be incredible.

The best things about the game are all the well thought out and balanced game systems, not just the combat but also all the character interactions with the world of the game, the outcomes of these interactions and how it all comes together for the story, if you want to truly role play in a role playing game, this is a must try.

There are some shortcomings in the game, technical ones mostly, I saw quite a few bugs in my playthrough, nothing game breaking but plenty of them were amusing and annoying like a character refusing to move, gear effects not activating every time they should and so on but in the face of the raw scope of the game, they were trivial in the end.

I am happy I gave this game a try as it has opened up a new genre for me to try out and I look forward to more of Larian studio's work. Lastly, I also recommend mods for this game, the modding community is quite vibrant, the game is very welcoming of mods and I personally enjoyed all the personal nuances that can be added.

I don't know what I expected when my friend recommended this game but it wasn't this. However, I did like it. I would recommend it to a younger crowd though cause it deals with a lot of questions that someone between the age 15 and 22 might face. So yeah, very good game that I can't explain in words.

I worry if From Software will ever be able to match, let alone surpass what they have created here. This game is beyond description, my vocabulary is not good enough to praise this game. I can only recommend that you experience it.

I find myself hollow after getting to the end and despite my worries about what they can make next, what they can make after creating a game that has set a benchmark so high, I can't help but look forward to it.

Easily in the top 5 greatest games ever made. Everyone should play this, there is basically nothing negative I can say about the game and nothing positive I can say would do it justice.

I would give up my left nut just to be able to forget this game and replay it all over. It would be worth it. Now Sony, for the love of God (of War), please port Bloodborne to PC. I would sacrifice my right nut for that.
