As someone who got 100% on all Soulsborne games, I'm really enjoying this game, it's essentially a boss rush mode with extra steps. While the game is clearly designed with multiplayer in mind, solo play is not that difficult on melee focused characters or Ironeye, I can go as far as to say that it's very exaggerated but it might just be me. If you go into this game thinking that it's Elden Ring 2, you'll be disappointed, but I urge you to keep an open mind. There are a lot of positives, like character designs, boss designs (which are incredible), the amount of fanservice for real fans of Fromsoft's previous works, and the build variety for different playstyles that the characters focus on in the game.

However, as a "Roguelike", the game ultimately fails on the randomization aspect, if you're hunting your first Nightlord, in all the tries that I had with it I always encountered the Bell Bearing Hunter and the Fell Omen with no other bosses showing up, but that just might be intended. Other negatives that I can think of are all just multiplayer aspects of the game; there is no way of having clear communication with your teammates, even a radial menu with various callouts like Monster Hunter games would be enough for this game, voice chat or text chat would also be incredible to help other players who are getting into the genre or have absolutely no clue on what they're doing (INT characters using GUGS, etc.). There is also no crossplay, which naturally impacts the matchmaking times, it would be a great thing to have, shame it's not included in the game.

TL;DR it's an ok game, there is plenty to do until the honeymoon phase is over unless they fix the randomization of mob and boss encounters, game needs a communication system too.

congrats you can now cheese the entire game.

I liked it, without really knowing why

Yes, indeed. It is called College. Where the transitory lands of the exhausted students converge. In venturing north, the pilgrims discover the truth of the old words. The GPA fades, and the homework goes unsolved. When the link of graduation is threatened, the bell tolls, unearthing the old lords of success from their graves. Wikipedia, saint of knowledge. Caffeine's sleepless legion, the one-nighters. And the reclusive lord of the drunk capital, Alcohol, the giant. Only in truth, the lords will barely do good, and the unhealthy will rise. Nameless accursed students, unfit even to be a functional part of society. And so it is that the student seeketh jobs.

A lot of people are experiencing a server-side issue where the game spikes from 20ms to 30k plus latency on American, European and AU/NZ servers, GGG is yet to address this issue despite it being around since PoE1 and countless forum/reddit posts. Game is great but I recommend people not investing in Early Access until the devs officially respond to these issues, it isn't an error on the player's end.
