very good game, kinda of a slosh of a grind for weapon exp though. Melee doesn't feel rewarding and assault is the worst class. On the point of melee, the risk/reward balance between parries and dodges feels wrong. Parries are setup to be the "harder" of the two defensive options in melee since only half of the parriable attacks are highlighted.As such youre forced to memorize enemy attack patterns and animations in order to properly parry in time with enemy attacks, for doing so your rewarded with a gunstrike and depending on the class, that is your bread and butter for sustain or is just a good way to not get surrounded in general. Thats good, the problem arises in dodging, you can't parry some attacks so youre forced to dodge and ,more often than, not your gonna lose health for doing so since the other enemys are still gonna be launching attacks and gun fire. Now i dont mind the game forcing me into bad situations, but i do mind the fact that in order to get out of unblockable attacks you cant be in any melee animation or else the enemy with just tank the hit and send you flying. Why is it that parrying is animation cancel-able when its supposed to be the harder thing to do while dodging isnt animation cancel-able while its set up the easier thing to do since every unblockable attacks is highlighted. It feels backwards and wrong in term of risk and reward in my opinion. make the more punishing/less rewarding situations (such as being forced to dodge during enemy waves or boss battles) at least easier to actually respond to and make the less telegraphed/more expierence and practice demanding challenges (such as parrying non-highlighted boss melee's) more rewarding.
PvP melee needs a rework as well. parries need to have more reward other than, no damage taken. I like how heavy attacks on some melee weapons cant be parried, but you need to let players some more i-frames on the roll dodges so combat doesnt feel like a weird "I started spamming attacks first so you cant do anything until im forced to heavy attack or either one of our teams shoots the other player first." moba tank fight at mid lane. I say send the enemy attacker flying while loosing 2 shield segments when parried successfully similar to a tyranid majoris' unblockable in melee and on a not so perfect parry, just sent flying with shields untouched but still in recovery, maybe. Just make parries worth it somehow in pvp.
tl;dr make dodges be able to cancel melee attacks mid move like parries can in pve and make parries harder to use have more reward like a double gun strike or, a longer stun than a dodges gunstrike, or a free armor segment refund regardless of class, or 10% red health back or anything that makes it more worth it to parry over dodge. the harder thing should be more rewarding and the bad situations should be easier to respond to.

super fun and lots of secrets to find in the game, can and probably will require multiple play throughs in order to fully experience the game. Wonderful art, world building and gameplay.

no matter how good the update, if the base of the game is ♥♥♥♥, then the pretty, botox injected, boob job having version of it is still ♥♥♥♥, but just okay for a one night stand. There's nothing really solid or real holding you to this game other than yourself, even then you hate yourself for it. Cod will help you aim better and CS:GO will teach you teamwork, but destiny will make you realize that you don't have that much time left in this world with all the hours you are going to be wasting on it.
