Dota 2 is an amazing game.

Learning how to play different heroes and and seeing the subtle yet powerful synergies and combos emerge is mystifying. Realising the vast amount of small yet vital optimisations of every role on a team will forever astound me. Seeing the items and the insane things they can do will forever make me question how I ever thought league of legends items were interesting.

Yet, I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone play this game.

Seeing good players excel at amazing feats while you and every person you will ever play with reliably fails at the most rudimentary will crush your soul. Watching the funny and interesting things that can happen on a youtube video while your games are only filled with sadness, regret and disappointment will forever haunt your dreams.

Dota 2 is a trap. An illusion. A dark masquerade luring in unsuspecting victims into its deep pit of despair.
Your friends will abandon you. Your randoms will blame you. Your day will be ruined.

Dota 2 is an amazing game, don't play it.
