I personally don't get most of the complaints, but I do have 2.

I wish that the law making system had more intrigue

and that you could see automatons tracing the city

After finishing the campaign and co-op campaign, i can say this:

This is the definitive Space Marine game. There is no other game that evokes the feeling of being a Space Marine, genetically altered to be perfection and death incarnate, to be an Angel of the Emperor.

It's also so lore-accurate. Every enemy you encounter you can just look up and get genuine lore for. I have Death Watch Mark of the Xenos book, and every Tyranid I encountered has an entry in it (Although I do with that a trygon, tyrant guard, or prime warrior made an appearance. They'd make good bosses.)

The melee combat is so visceral, and it took me a bit to get used to using guns as an accessory to it. Once you get the practice, you can become an instrument of divine wrath, the Emperor's will manifest.

The final missions are also just peak warhammer. I won't say anything about those as I don't want to spoil it. But they're so grand and awesome, I yelled with joy (I'm not even exaggerating here) when I recognized some units.

I love this game. This was worth the money I spent to play it early. If you're looking for a good Warhammer game? This is it. IF you want a universal jumping off point for 40k? This is it. If you want to feel like a badass killing hostile aliens? This. Is. It.

(P.S. Read other reviews for the negatives. I am incapable of seeing any because I just see, now I say this respectfully, skill issue. But I played on normal, so what do I know.)

This DLC is, in fact, an entire whole ass game as a DLC. DLC actually isn't the right word for it, Expansion is.

It is hard. Very hard. Stupidly hard. So hard that I used Spirit Ashes for the first time (mostly to act as a damage tank/distraction)

First half I could do alright, second half I struggled. It was still fun, although a biiiit too hard for me personally to enjoy a lot. I'm sure others love the bosses that come after the big red fire guy (If you don't know his name I'm disappointed in you, but I'm still playing it careful.), but I found them quite frustrating to the point where I wasn't having the most fun.

Also the damn menial enemies all being essentially mini-bosses made it take atleast a few hours longer than it normally would have for me. Most menial enemies being this way is the main gripe I have. But not a big one.

The final boss is... well it sure is something. It made me summon two people with OP builds to beat (I lacked the skill solution necessary)

All in all, while too challenging for me at some points, I know lots of others will enjoy its difficulty though. IMO, minor nerfs or fixes are necessary (especifically fixes for the damn boar rider.) but It's not necessary. Nerfs or no, I'll trudge through it again and again.

If you're struggling with the motivation to fight, remember this as it's what got me through the hardest bosses: the bosses that they can win as much as they want, but you only need to win once.

The hardest part of this game is waiting for the next update.

Despite the changes from the first game, this game is the PERFECT sequel for me.

Edit 1: Also, despite the Sony account requirement, I will not be changing my review stance. This is a poor way of protest as it actively harms the game and drives away newcomers.

Edit 2: Upon obtaining more information, I am making this review temporarily negative to help Arrowhead get more sway with Sony. Arrowhead is currently trying to find alternatives, so don't worry. I hope they can change the deal or find another way of doing this. (Support the dev team through and through though.)

Edit 3: WE WON! SONY HAS KNEELED BEFORE DEMOCRACY!

This DLC is good, but not 6 dollers good in my opinion. I found the story interesting, I understand it better than the base game because the DLC gives incentive to read the journals as they're found with story progression, not randomly. It's just far too short in my opinion, I completed it in about an hour, maybe an hour and a half, I just wish it had more pursuits or areas to explore. I still recommend it due to catching it on the Winter Sale, and liking the base game. It's a nice addition to endgame or midgame content even if it is too short for my taste.

I have done two playthroughs of this game, and I still can't stress enough about how good this game is. Went through it once on medium, once on hard. Both playthroughs I discovered something new, this game has endless surprises.

The game is a fricking masterpiece of art in its purest form. From its improved AI, creative combat encounters, to the weapon animations that made each weapon feel powerful in its own way.

This game is worth it's weight as a 20 dollar game, but it's free! I highly recommend this game. The literal ONLY problem I have with it is a minor one, it's simply the Pitdrone existing in the game after Race X got murdered by Shepard, and it's hardly a deal breaker! The Pitdrone was still fun to fight, even if it was a tiny bit out of place.

I have but one request as well. Please, please, please, PLEASE continue with what happens after the secret ending with your best friend (I will let new players figure this out :)

Since Steam has no "mixed" review option, this will have to do. This game is only Okay in my opinion. The combat, while fun at times, is way too infuriating for me to use. This game relies on counter attacking monsters that have no tells that I have been able to see. If that is fun for you, by all means, go ahead and by the game. But do be aware that this game based entirely around combat, did combat ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Update: I tried Insect Glaive and all my problems are gone

Early access review, I know. But this game is fantastic. But ♥♥♥♥ THAT PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥ TAVERN. NO. IT MADE ME WANT TO CRY. DAMMIT

I bumbled my way to what I'm pretty sure may have been the best ending.
