"Stepan Bandera - The Life and Afterlife of a Ukrainian Nationalist. Fascism, Genocide, and Cult" (2014)

This issue exposes the government’s collaboration with and generous support for proNATO, East European émigré groups in Canada whose ethnonationalist founders and heroes include veterans of Waffen SS divisions or other fascist military formations, perpetrators of political- and ethnic-cleansing campaigns, officials from and apologists for Nazi puppet regimes, postwar CIA propaganda assets, proponents of Cold War terrorist groups like the US-armed Nicaraguan contras and Afghan mujahideen, and other virulently anticommunist "freedom fighters" and their ideologues.
A section on Canada's state-funded Ukrainian diaspora includes several articles on Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland's 30-year involvement in organizations that, being deeply rooted in fascist ideologies, still glorify Nazi collaborators as their war heroes.

In the 1930s, the leaders of the OUN saw the Ukrainian national movement as part of European fascist movements and did not hide it at all. At the end of the war, the Germans decided to use the collaborative enthusiasm of the Ukrainians on a larger scale. They released Bandera and offered him cooperation in the fight against communism, they also formed the Ukrainian Waffen-SS division (to which as many as 80,000 volunteers signed up!). Rossoliński-Liebe claims that until German intelligence discloses its documents on cooperation with Bandera, it will not be possible to fully explain its dimension. However, he emphasizes that no one else has supported Bandera as intensively for so long and so intensively as BND after the war. All Ukrainian activity in Munich was possible only because the Western countries treated the Ukrainian Nazi as a partner in the fight against the USSR and the Eastern Bloc.
