Hades 2, as it's predecessor, has proven to be an absolute work of art, with amazing graphics and a smooth and very responsive controls and mechanics.

Graphics - Even though the first game has shown an amazing art style, combining 3D models with 2D assets, making them all flow together in harmony, it's successor doesn't fall far from the tree.
Hades 2 has improved and polished the diamond that was already present, having a much cleaner style, being more precious with adding straight black shading over the character illustrations, and improving on the shading of everything else presented.
Regarding the anatomy and overall style of the characters, they have created models and illustrations that are way more pleasing to look at than in the first game although, from what i have seen, they have made some characters look younger .( Poseidon for example)

Gameplay -
Just like in the first game, the gameplay is an absolute treat and it shows that the people creating the game, truly care about a player's experience.
With lots of similarities, Hades 2 has it's own little quarks that make it different from it's past fast paced button mashing type of combat such as :

- The multiple dashes that we've all been used to from playing as Zagreus in the first game have been replaced with one singular dash and a sprint upon holding the button down. Even though this might seem off-putting to some players that have familiarized themselves with that certain type of gameplay from before and it might seem daunting to experience the game in a different way, the sprint is quite a nice replacement and it works really well with the new mechanic they've added that's specific to Melinoë's gameplay.

- Melinoë, our new playable character, has her own new mechanics that improve the gameplay a massive lot and make it feel fresh despite the similarities with it's predecessor.
By holding down the buttons, Melinoë uses mana to cast more powerful spells which differ on the type of weapon you're playing with. As a player, you might start to be reliant on these abilities, since they are way more powerful than the base attacks which is not necessarily bad because you are hit with the limited amount of mana you have per run.

- Unlike the first game, your cast is not a projectile and you have only one use of it per cooldown. Instead, Melinoë's cast is a circular spell with a huge area of effect in which enemies take more damage from your attacks and are greatly slowed down if they are caught / step on it.

- Another new thing would be the possibility to have a familiar that helps you throughout the run which can either attack enemies or block their shots depending on who you pick.
The familiars also have their own tools with a starting use of 1, which helps players get more resources from their run.

- Likewise, Melinoë can have her own tools, appart from the array of weapons she can pick from to start her run with.
Those tools let the player collect different types of the much needed resources found throughout the multiple rooms in the given regions. Those resources can help Melinoë discover more weapons, aspects and and aid her in casting incantations that unlock different mechanics of the game.

Story - The story of Hades 2 is gradually being told as you play, having bits and pieces being revealed to you as you about how things happened and why some characters have made certain choices.

Audio - The sound effects and music has been improved on even further in Hades 2, having amazing voiceacting from the get-go and nice meaty hit sounds.
The music really immerses you in the gameplay, especially during bosses such as the one from the zone called "Oceania ".

Controls - Like in Hades, the controls remain the same, being very easy to learn for new players, and perfect for the people that have played the first game beforehand.

Conclusion - In it's Early Access state, Hades 2 shows lots of promise, having the same, if not, an even better attention to details and passion than it's predecessor has shown. The gameplay is subliminal and really sucks you into what's happening on the screen, gripping the player with breathtaking visuals and sound design, as well as really amazing voice acting.
Even though the game still has some placeholders and it's missing some parts of the story, it still shows a greater amount of gameplay than Hades 1 which is mindblowing.

To people that are debating to buy it right now, i say do it. You'll be missing out otherwise.
