I will admit that a little bit of my love for this game might come from a small bit of bias due to the fact there is no good baseball games on PC and the sports world is dry as hell on PC as it is. I actually came across this game in an article called "25 Underrated Steam Games for Summer Sale" and it peaked my interest. From there, I ended up buying it and don't regret a thing. This game is just massively addicting and fun for any sports and especially for those who love baseball like myself.

The game is pretty true and authentic to baseball while putting its own spin on it in the way of perks, different teams, and some pretty creative/funny player names. I love the pitching mechanics in this game and batting as well. Although batting is relatively easy and needs to be played on high ego in order to be challenging. The game runs smooth as butter and graphically it looks pretty great, even if some of the player models look ridiculous but it's part of the charm on the game. Stadiums look great as well as the crowds. I mean there isn't much to say other then it plays fantastically well for a baseball game with its own spin of a bit of arcade like style in the way of perks made for players and the fast paced nature of the game. I also love the idea of players getting hot or cold based on their mojo/fitness and the craziness of hitting a player as a pitcher or nailing the pitcher injuring him, it's always pretty funny. Lastly too, the animations are always a good laugh

Much as I love this, it does have some issues. The perk system is a cool addition, same as the fitness and mojo but they can be annoying too. The idea that a pitcher who is locked in/on fire basically becomes un-hittable no matter how good a players contact or mojo are inducing soft contact almost every time, even if it's right down the middle of the plate. The lack of an announcer sucks for sure and fielding in this game ranges from super easy to what the hell am I doing. One major issue for me is the lack of being able to trade at all in franchise mode or just signing a player without having to release another. As with any sports game really, there are times where it just feels no matter what you do nothing works in a game which can lead to serious frustration.

For a small little indie sports game, it's surprising the amount of depth and fun I've been having with this. I bought this game for 22 bucks on a sale and don't regret it at all. It's not perfect but given the complete lack of PC sports games, it's impressive how much fun this game is and what it has to offer. I've enjoyed this more than practically any game from EA when it comes to their major sports game over the past few years. Not sure I'd recommend this at FULL price unless you're desperate for a baseball game or a major sports fan but it definitely is worth it if you are. For the casual gamers or sports fans, it's worth it for sure, just at a price cut. I personally love this game flaws and all. What a hidden gem!
