Amazing. This game hit a perfect balance of familiar and new, from the areas, to the music to the characters and the story. I have played hundreds if not thousands of hours of OG FF7 and I think I have it on like 5 different systems, its one of my all time favorites.

I was skeptical going in as re-boots don't always live up to the hype and in general, I'm not a fan of the action style (I like the old school FF turn-based battles) but this blew me away. If you loved the original FF7, this is a fun and imaginative remake of Disc 1 (yeah, it does kinda suck that it isn't the full game).

There was one thing however that really held the game back from being completely perfect. That is the keyboard/mouse control layout. It is atrocious. Whoever designed it and those involved in the process of approving it should face the maximum civil and criminal penalties possible in their jurisdictions. The controls are clunky, unintuitive and require Olympic level hand contortion skills that an old, non-pro gamer like me just does not have.
