This game is an incredible MMO experience paired with some of the best isometric ARPG combat available! What a stellar game!

Below is my initial thoughts on the game but I've however since edited my review to not recommend. Initially this game is amazing. Great looking, fun combat, and overall such a great foundation to an MMO. However, to this day (6 months after release 3/31/22) they still haven't repaired the game-breaking performance of the game. There's so much lag and desync that it's practically unplayable if you have reasonable expectations. Unfortunately until that is repaired, I cannot recommend this game.

This is going to be one of the greats!

Class systems or lack thereof: There are no classes in New World. Instead your play-style will be reflected by the weapons you choose to use and the given specification. There are 2 specs per weapon available and you can mix them. You can also have 2 weapons slotted at any given time. This provides the variation in playstyle of "classes" without narrowing your options down the line.

Combat systems: The combat systems are intuitive and fun. They level up at a nice pace that doesn't feel overwhelming. The targetting and hit-scan is done very well. You can tell this was a big-budget game.

Questing And Story: Questing in this game is similar to every other MMOrpg. Collect this, kill that, etc. There is a storyline to follow and side quests in each zone to keep you busy. Among that there are faction quests and town project board quests that you can pickup to fill your time and gain standing in each zone. In makes for a nice way to feel like you're contributing to the zone.

RPG Elements and Crafting: This game does it better than most. You certainly can feel its survival game backbone and how they modified some of the options here to make it feel more MMO. It feels great and satisfying to level your professions.

If you're an RPG, shooter, and co-op buff, this fills that niche. Good gear progression and crafting systems. The gun-play is intuitive and dynamic. They made great improvements to the cover system after demo.

My buddy and I are having so much fun with this game. The first real boss fight with the spider is for real one of the most fun times I've had in a gaming experience in quite a while.

The loading/cut scenes are frequent but short-lived which is nice.

This game has a revolutionary world-tier scaling system. It honestly makes for a more challenging and enjoyable experience. As you move through the game you feel more powerful, but also like the enemies are getting harder.

Honestly this is one of the most enjoyable game experiences I've had in a long time. I'll be in this one for hours to come. Thanks Square Enix!

Let me start this review by saying I've been a Blizzard fanboy for quite a long time. Since 2006 to be exact. I hadn't ever tried this MMO simply because it looked like a knock-off version of wow. However, I'm a huge fan of playing Necromancers in games. Let me tell you how WRONG I was that it was a "knock off". This game does so many things much better than WoW.

Pros:
-The combat is dynamic, unique, and fun
-The skill tree is diverse and you really can pick and choose your playstyle
-The questing is fun and the story is entertaining and engaging
-Necromancers, necromancers, necromancers (I'm salty WoW doesn't have a necro)
-Player housing with trophies for achievements
-Unique crafting systems with little limitation on what you choose to progress
-A vast open world with great graphic fidelity and really creative terrain
-Really great PVP combat and game styles
-Group content fits in well with the MMO style of the game

CONS:
-I consistently ran out of inventory until I decided to specialize in 3 professions versus trying to level up all 6. So I'm not sure if this is a con stating inventory management is sub-par or a small guide letting you know that skill points and inventory is best suited towards 3 professions.
-Small loading screens while entering every single building is kind of annoying at times. It feels like a small interruption to the immersion occasionally.
-Honestly other than that I really don't have many cons about this game. I'm VERY happy I picked it up.

This is a GREAT game and you'll spend several hours engaged in it's content and lore. You won't regret you played.

This game is incredible for $5.00. So much fun! One of the best pickups of this summer sale for sure. Really exciting talent customization and variety to fit your play style. Honestly. Don't hesitate to pay the $5.00.

It's a very unique combination of genres. I wish more gaming companies would be doing this.

CONS:
1. I had to modify some of the keybinds because the default settings didn't make much sense to me. A good example would be that pinging friendly attack zones is bound to *mouse right click, and zooming weapon is bound to *middle mouse click. This is a simple switch of the two but honestly should have defaulted the other way to start.
2. The base you start in is just kind of a vast empty space with nothing to do. I'm sure eventually this could change and it's simply a blank slate, but it feels a bit bland.
3. I qued "quickplay" multiplayer for over 10 minutes with no games. There just aren't enough people playing this game right now.

Pros:
1. Unique and exciting gameplay mechanics.
2. Challenging.
3. Very cool cinematics and story progression in the single player.

Overall I would absolutely recommend the game, although I think they needed to do a couple things on release to make this game more accessible. I mean... it only has 31 reviews in the first 24 hours. That's CRAZY low for the kind of game this is. Anyway I believe the multiplayer and campaign should have been sold separately with maybe even a free to play multiplayer option. I strongly believe if there was a free-to-play option for multiplayer there would be tens of thousands of game downloads already and a lower price point of $19.99 for the campaign mode would have sold thousands of copies already after people got a chance to play around with the game in multiplayer. This is just a way smarter business model.

I have friends I play other games with who like the looks of this game but they just can't justify spending $49.99 on it when so many other free to play games are currently available to play. Obviously I know developers need to grow their businesses and make a profit, but a $49.99 price point to even dip your toes into a game seems like such an antiquated business model at this point.

Duuuuude. What a fun game. If you like Dota Underlords or any other auto chess battler, you'll love this. Instead of alliances this is an item management and trait combination. If you love SMITE as well you're going to thoroughly enjoy.

Honestly this game does not deserve the review bombs it's getting. It's a fun, free to play arena shooter. It has a lot of potential for growth and further updates will come I'm sure. It was released rather quickly.

This game gives me those "gamer feels." You know when a game just hits those buttons that makes it feel like it's what you've been missing. Epic quests and gorgeous map design. Cinematics are so good as well. I can't believe there's a free to play option, honestly.
