THIS GAME IS SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOOD

I would consider myself a super duper casual souls fan. I played half of dark souls 3 (got stuck on pontiff and quit which was on xbox) and I've played a few hours of dark souls 1.

despite my relative inexperience and previous constant need for help, i'm actually able to figure out how to play, git gud, progress, etc. if you're ever under leveled for a fight there's great spots to grind if you seek them out. if you want a cool weapon, there's tons you can get without fighting a boss such as the Meteoric Ore Katana. there's plenty of help in the form of the community on Reddit and YouTube, the latter of which was my main source of knowledge. if you want an easy mode, look up op builds such as sorcery or bleed. that's just my main draw at first.

The ability of From Software to introduce a niche type of game that's somehow for a much wider audience than any of the dark souls, bloodborne, or any other souls like game they've created. It is, in my opinion, the easiest from soft game in their library IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT. it can be as hard as you make it or a bs spam-fest that's more for the lore and atmosphere. you can start out as a bandit, samurai, a knight like dude, sorcerers, priest, a naked dude with a club, or many more. speaking of atmosphere, the world is GORGEOUS and isnt afraid to throw massive enemies at you. you feel small, and often weak. the only thing separating you and the hostile npc's is the ability to learn and grow. the slow (or fast) progression of levels feels rewarding. areas you once feared one-shots you can now deal with easily. you can even summon spirits that you can upgrade if you don't like multiplayer. there's over 160 bosses with most of them being optional. the map is huge and you can explore most of it from the very beginning.

Honestly it's no wonder every youtuber right now keeps blaming late videos on elden ring. it's a seriously amazing game, 10/10 i recommend buying this if you're wondering if you should. at least test it for 2 hours to see if you like it. do research before and don't bother much with character creation. you can do that later.

also don't forget to do the tutorial. it's a small cliff dropoff after dying to the crab dude.

As long as you can throw away your hype and work around the bugs, it's a damn great game. Gun play is interesting, driving is pretty easy to pickup, and the hacking feature makes fights have a ton of depth. The only reason i think i could be a bad game is if you expect it to be a perfect game. I have yet to encounter a game breaking bug, only minor t-poses and short Johnny Silverhand every once in a while. Just be sure to update your drivers so you don't see rocks and trees through everything.
