Grime is good but my opinion on it is weird, let me explain.

First of all, I just wanna state how amazing the game is artistically. Both visually and lorewise, this game gets a 10/10 from me. It delves into a similar type of cosmic horror theme as H.P. Lovecraft does so if you like his work, this might scratch that itch.

Let me get it out of that way that, yes, this game is clunky. The combat feels either weightless or it feels like its taking place in a waist high pool of water. The combat isn't bad, but the flow is often unsatisfactory. That's not to say there aren't any fights with amazing flow, cuz there are. My two favorite bosses, namely The final performance and Dreamborn terror have a really good flow and feel really good to fight against. The weapons are all cool. I don't think there is a single weapon i find boring which is obviously a huge win. I do however feel like the game is too easy. During my first playthrough of the game, not a single boss took me over 30 min to beat, same goes for ng+ (with the new movesets and whatnot). I play a LOT of metroidvanias so without sounding like a prick, I may have an easier time than others.

All in all, do I recommend it? Yes. It tells a beautiful tale and at the end of the day, its a wonderful looking, fairly tight feeling metroidvania with great platforming and awesome looking bosses, and that's all that really matters.

I play the game a little everytime I purchase and read a manga volume so I haven't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that far (without spoilage, Femto did his deed) but it's Berserk so yk, 10/10

I want to like this game, so badly, but I just can't. Aesthetically this game rules man, but the gameplay just isn't for me. When I think of good metroidvanias, I think of hollow knight, blasphemous 1 & 2, even dead cells to an extent. Now, I know that comparing unworthy to those games is incredibly unfair since they are more or less the golden standard. But the all have something in common, something this game lacks, that being movement. The subpar combat combined with everything feeling like its slowmotion doesn't feel good, MC's t-rex arms doesn't help either. Another issue I have with this game is that there isn't an internal cooldown as to how often your character can take damage ie there are no i-frames.

I have some personal gripes with it, issues which are both subjective and objective. And while I wouldn't recommend the game myself, if you think it looks cool then buy it. Most reviews are positive so it could just be player error. I wish the dev best of luck and I hope to see more games from them!

All jokes aside, amazing game. Think the gameplay of Hollow Knight with the atmosphere of Bloodborne and the residents of Birmingham, perfect

This is my second favourite game ever made, only second to a ps4 exclusive, making this my favourite game on steam. I could tell you about how the visuals are stunning or how the combat system is flawless but no. Stop reading reviews and buy the game. If you like metroidvanias, you WILL enjoy this game.
