The last time I tried MCC was about a year ago. My first review of the game was that it was extremely disappointing. The graphics and gameplay felt outdated, it did not port well to mouse and keyboard control, and with all the new technology available to developers it just felt like they could have done so much more to update games that are 10+ years old.

Well, for the most part the graphics are still fairly ♥♥♥♥. Reach, Halo CE Anniversary, and Halo 3 all need updates. Halo 2 is Halo 2, but at least there's Halo 2 Anniversary and that does look pretty great. Graphics are honestly one of two things they should be doing to bring these games into in modern age of PC gaming (let's face it, the console medium is outdated and are trying to be PCs anyway #PCmasterrace).

The second thing they need to do is improve on the gameplay features that these games all should have had from the beginning. There's just no excuse for this. Why do these games, having the power of modern gaming tech and programming, still play like they did in the early 2000's? Not cool at all.

Disclaimer, when I'm talking about the gameplay I'm strictly speaking on the campaign modes.

All that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aside, having picked up a Xbox One controller definitely makes the games feel RIGHT. I will say the multiplayer has been fantastic. My recommendation: Set the multiplayer to Halo CE and Halo 2/2A and you're good to go; the other titles not needed. Yes, I'm that old school. As the Narnia meme goes "I was there when the magic was written" before Halo got F-ing weird (countless hours of Halo CE LAN parties, skipping school to play the leaked version of Halo 2 weeks before release). Halo 2A multiplayer is solid AF by the way.

So would I overall recommend MCC? Yes, but only if it's on sale. Sorry, but they (343) don't deserve full price pay for just porting the games to PC without any groundbreaking updates. MCC has also been out for several years so there's that too. It's also super weird to be playing this with kids who weren't even born when some of us were already cussing each other out on Lockout Slayer, or having warthog battles across Blood Gulch. F-ing Wack. Anyway here's a ranking of the games included:

Bestest: Halo 2/2A
Very close 2nd: Halo CE
3rd: Halo 3
4th: Reach
5th: ODST
Don't bother: Halo 4

Insurgency: Sandstorm is a good sequel (expansion?) to Insurgency. Nothing seems too different other than the core game play at first glance, but it's enough to distinguish it as it's own game. The character customization tool is a neat addition, and makes the team play look and feel unique. The new UI and matchmaking system certainly is a great improvement, so jumping from match to match is seamless. The system seems to also try to keep you with the same players which is great, because y'all are a bunch of hilarious and fun a-holes. Classes and weapons have all been improved, and on that note, the (I hear it's new) Hardcore Co-op mode is a blast. It really is challenging. I haven't played PvP yet so I wont comment on that. New maps are fun, and some from Insurgency have been redone and improved.

My main complaint with the game is that there still seems to be some netcode issues (rubber-banding, glitching spawns and characters, player teleporting, etc.). It's not as bad as how Insurgency got for me, but it worries me because that's what ultimately got me so frustrated with Insurgency that I completely removed it from my library (I think I even wrote a ♥♥♥♥ review. It was/is BAD! for the original Insurgency). Second, the amount of credits earned is too small per match, so customization will be a grind game. And come on guys, we're not EA, so no need for hard grinding. Save that for the bedroom. Another minor complaint is that sometimes the models and environment suffer from shiny plastic syndrome, as in sometimes guns look too smooth and glossy, and the outdoor environments can look too bright and washed out. One last thing, and this is dumb, but the female blonde hair should be...blonde? A little love for our Nordic and Aryan brothers and sisters.

All in all, for now I definitely recommend picking up this game, especially if it's on sale. The Jun-Dec road map looks really exciting! (come on Tavor!). And all free content. Like, damn. Good job guys!

I was hoping for a KSP killer after I saw some YouTubers playing it... This is unfortuantely not there yet, and has a long way to go. The menu is not intuitive at all, and I found myself constantly having to look for things that should be obvious, or at least in expected places. The parts, well, this could use a lot more of them. I'm not sure where people are building space shuttles or satelites from, because none of those parts are in the game (is there a mod community already?). Gameplay-wise, I was constantly having to babysit the camera, and the staging is awful. The UI also made me feel blind when flying. The game also save rockets and previous gameplays in a really weird way. The rocket builder brings all the negative points into a heaping mess, and ultimately I was a bit frustrated with the game overall.

Now, I just don't recommend this game yet. "Yet" being the key word here. I do think in a few months, with lots of hard work, this game will make KSP even more irrelevant than it already is. Let's be real, KSP is only kept alive by the mod community, and even that has gotten stale. Way too many mods, and a community that was once friendly and is now toxic and elitist. That being said, the developers of Simple Rockets have had a chance to watch KSP for years and years. You know the players' frustrations, their wishes, and what KSP should of shipped with in terms of parts, support, and functionality.

Don't be too put off by my negative review. I am keeping this game in my library, but I'm going to wait to play it. I believe in you. I think that you could have launched with a lot more. You could have done a complete coup de ta against KSP. But you will. Keep up the good work! I will see you again soon.

Really dont have much to say about it, other than it is boring. And by boring I mean, I have had this in my library for months and have to really convince myself to play it. I'd rather volunteer to have my nuts kicked by a midget ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for 12 hours while someone blasts clips Hillary Clinton laughing in my ears. Easily the most boring game I've ever played. I'm removing it from my library permanently.

Tried it our for a bit and I'm really not sure how I feel about it. I can see where the political decision making can be fun, but its terribly predictable. The game definitely seems to want to steer the play towards a certain agenda for success. The city building itself it pretty clunky and the tutorial isn't much help (the tutorial is REALLY awful). For example, you can't build in desert areas, which immediately negates most map building. And the farm tool only works when it wants too. Speaking of map building, having different "brush" sizes would be great, unless you want to spend a really long time making your own map (and remember, no deserts). I would maybe wait to get this game until sufficient feedback has come in and the developers respond. On the plus size, it takes all of 2 minutes to download and look like the old Sim City games.

Saw this in my recommended list and decided to try it. This is pretty much a clone of GitS: First Assault, and I wouldn't be surprised if it headed in the same direction (as in: devs refuse to work with community, then shut the game down citing "lacked interest"). The graphics are fine, but the controls are a little different than normal PC FPS games. It is jumpy and I found myself rubber-banding immediately. That being said, I suffered many surprise deaths for enemies that materilised out of nowhere. At this time I wouldn't recommend this game, unless you like jumpy crackhead shooters. No tactics at all, just run and shoot everything. You are also hit with many pages of ads that puts this game straight into pay-to-win category.

Cool game, but ultimately kind of disapointing. Not sure why. It would definitely be really cool if they remade it, or made a sequel with multiplayer. The soundtrack is dope.

I'm just over halfway through the game, so I figure I'll write a review... Awesome game. And it will scare you if you play in the dark in the middle of the night. Story is pretty cool, and while it helps to watch Alien first, its not necessary (I haven't even seen it). The alien is way fun to hide from and he is one smart M-Fer. He doesn't know who you are, but he will find you, and he will kill you. The human opponents are ok. They are super jumpy and will shoot you on sight, even though they are not supposed to some of the time. So if you see a human, save yourself the worry and just blast him/her. The most annoying enemies are the androids. They are bug-F**k stupid, but super strong and resilient. Its very easy to escape from them, but if one gets a hold of you, you are done for. Level design is cool and the game looks gorgeous (Amanda is a pretty s3xy protagonist). That all being said, here is my list of cons:

-There is no way to consistently fight or distract the alien. Its pretty much luck on escaping it.
-On that note, the motion tracker doesn't always work, or says the alien is in a different spot than where it really is.
-When your spider senses tingle and you know something is about to happen, look around to loot for items then save if you can. You wont get another chance because the alien litteraly knows where you are all the time.
-Amanda (despite being hot and fit) moves as slow as a p**sy-hat college walrus waddling to her next feminist convention.
-Item/object activation is super slow as well which is very annoying when you know you're about to die.
-The keyboard and mouse controls are disgustingly obtuse. This game was very obviously designed for a controller (specifically, an XBox One controller).
-The weapons suck unless you are fighting humans.
-There are obvious "bottle-neck" areas where you know you should have better means to survive and evade, but the game doesn't provide. So some parts you will play over and over again, and it goes from fun to furstrating very fast.

UPDATE: Ok had a chance to finish the game all the way through, apparently something a majority of the players don't do (for real, look it up). The only things I would add is that its very furstrating how this game gives you no guidance whatsoever, so you will have to take quite a few trips to YouTube to see walkthroughs. And the last mission, good god what a cluster F. Every movie trope calamity that can happen does happen, and then some. And it was disappointing to boot. Still though, if you can get this game on sale, I'd go for it.

And remember, the Flare is love, the Flare is life.

Pros: A lot of banging?
Cons: Everything. Horrible user interface. Slow and confusing story. Crap inventory system. Terrible combat. You have to make potions or some ♥♥♥♥?

This game has some sort of awesome reputation but I just don't get it. I will give Witcher 2 a try, but as for this first game its a no go.

Such a cool game!!! Too bad my PC cant run it for shiz. I think its new graphics card time or I wont be able to play any more new games. But I digress. So, yeah, awesome game. Super helpful and friendly players as well! The one mission I played I spawned, then ran what had to have been a couple miles to a spot where 3 MG teams were pinning down my boyz who were trying to secure an objective. On the way there, I find a radio on a crate. I don't know what hell it is? Call it in, next thing I know a couple of my guys show up and use shovels (what??) to kill it, then disappear into the woods to do God knows what. Apparently it was an enemy spawn beacon or something. Anyway, get to the mg teams. Take out a couple guys. Felt awesome! Then some guys snuck up on me, and before I could turn around (on account of slow PC) I got killed.

10/10 would hike 2 miles again to kill radios with shovels and sneak up on some cocky enemy players.
