It's Halo but before 343 ruined it with all that micro transaction nonsense they put in Halo 5 and Infinite

I've played this game for over 1000 hours and I still suck at it and barely understand the concepts, but I still have fun!

Fallout 4 is the perfect example of a game that I have a love hate relationship with. On one hand, I absolutely love the setting and premise as post-apocalyptic settings in games have always been incredibly interesting and fun for me. I also really enjoy the settlement building aspect of the game, as it gives you the opportunity to add your own personal touch to the wasteland, even if it is a bit clunky at times. (most of) The characters have interesting personalities and stories behind them, and just exploring the wasteland and finding out what companions like what and seeing how they react keeps things fresh and makes you want to keep them around for more than just the extra inventory space. And the mods, oh goodness the mods, some of them are must haves when playing through this game I swear.

On the other hand, the game has aged quite considerably and it shows in how the graphics, while still acceptable, look really dated especially when compared to newer games, and transitioning between the two can be jarring at first. The main story is honestly kind of confusing and drawn out, I found myself several times not really caring if I found my son or not and would much rather go do a more interesting side quest for one of the factions. And while the game is still an RPG, it suffers from that Bethesda dialogue that basically all their games have, and it just gets repetitive and makes you wish for more options or for a better way to immerse yourself in your character. The enemies are all basically the same at the core with a few gimmicks to set them apart from one another, but overall it sometimes gets repetitive and boring just fighting the same enemies over and over again.

In conclusion, I think Fallout 4 is a game that you really need to spend your time with to fully enjoy it. If you're just looking for something to play on the side then it could fill that role as well, but you probably won't enjoy it as much as you possibly could have. There will probably be times where you spend hours playing this game for days on end and then suddenly you don't boot it up for like 2 months or more just because you lost interest like I have several times. That being said, another constant that I have found is that after not playing this game for a while, when you come back to it, you just wanna keep playing until you inevitably get sick of it. In that sense, it's worth the investment for a game that you can always come back to and find some enjoyment out of it.

Also don't buy Fallout 76, it's a trap.

Honestly, if the question is whether or not Cyberpunk 2077 is a bad game, then the answer would be no. There are still plenty of different things to do and immerse yourself into with this game, say what you will but one thing this game does not suffer from is lack of content. However I must say, the game just doesn't feel like it was finished in time, or that enough polish was put into it before it was released. There are SO MANY bugs, glitches, graphical errors and more when it comes to Cyberpunk and honestly to me it feels like it takes away from what is otherwise a solid game. I got car launched into the side of a building just driving down the street for no reason, I got softlocked out of a mission because Jackie didn't leave the building in time and now I can't get back into that building because of the militech guard outside, I swear there are some major collision issues outside the night club that make it impossible to drive in the parking lot with your car, and this was just in the first 2 hours of gameplay. Still though, moving past that beneath the surface is a fun game that has nice gun play and a variety of enemies and different ways to dispatch of them bundled in with an interesting scenario and story that makes you want to keep playing despite the flaws. And besides, bugs and glitches can be fixed over time so long as the development team cares enough, and CD PROJEKT RED I think does care about making the best possible game they can. So if you ask me I would wait a little before buying this game at full price, at least until most of the major bugs have been ironed out and they (hopefully) make it more multi-platform friendly as I have heard horror stories about the Xbox and Playstation versions being basically unplayable. (good thing this is the steam review) But if you HAVE to play this game right now, then I'd say go for it, just temper your expectations and recognize that it can only get better from here. This game won't win any awards or change the gaming landscape like many of us thought it would, especially in the state that it's currently in, but it's still a fun time regardless.

I've played about halfway through this game and here are my thoughts so far:

Don't be fooled like I was, I promise you this game is hard right off the bat. I get a lot of retro "figure it out yourself" kind of vibes with this game, as when you start a new game you are thrust right into the action with little to no idea of what it is you're doing. There is a lot, and I mean a lot of trial and error involved in this game, and you WILL die multiple times on just one boss and when you do, no matter how far ahead you got against that boss, you gotta do the whole damn thing over again. It's incredibly frustrating and tiresome, especially when you get to the last stage and are only 1 or 2 hits away from winning but get caught off guard and suddenly you're right back to square one. (this happened to me on the 4th boss and I raged) Patience, learning and concentration are the keys to success in this game, there are no upgrades to make yourself stronger, no power ups to help during combat, and no mercy coming your way from any of these bosses. It's just you, your gun and sword, and all the skill you can muster.

With all that being said, if you struggle with patience, aren't a fan of long drawn out fights and are just looking for an arcade game to burn some time with, I would skip this game. It takes time and patience to succeed in Furi, and a whole lot of learning and memorization to boot. However if you're looking for a challenging game that will put your skills to the ultimate test and are willing to go the extra mile in order to beat all 10 bosses (plus the DLC) then I promise you Furi is worth every penny and more. Like I said, it reminded me a lot of the older retro games that didn't hold your hand and forced you to figure it out for yourself, and because of that "figure it out" mentality that this game was build around, there is nothing more satisfying then finally beating a boss you've been struggling with not because you upgraded your character to make the boss easier like a lot of games do today, but because you learned, adapted and overcame the challenge fair and square. When you win a fight, you EARNED that win, and nobody can take that away from you.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get my ass kicked by the crazy Valkyrie lady for the 5th time today, good day!
