You’ve heard the news, or at least, you’ve heard a portion of it. “Nintendo”, or at least, a bast*rd claiming to be Nintendo, has threatened Garry Neumann, the dev of this game, with a DMCA takedown if all Nintendo icons are not removed. Thing is, the claim itself is from a third party that has never had any affiliation with the real Nintendo, nor is the email it was sent under registered under anything Nintendo. What does Garry say about this? Well, for one, he’s refusing, and I mean REFUSING, to read anything regarding the claims. He says that they’re 100% real and to totally trust him, when TENS OF THOUSANDS of players from all over the world, some of which are real lawyers, have looked even on the surface level of the case, and found many, many flaws in it. Nintendo isn’t the one issuing this claim. It’s some as*hat who wants to ruin a game for fun. He’s done it in the past with other games, but not to this extent. Garry, if you even read this, which, knowing your tweet, “I’m not reading 999+ comments about this”, you are faced with ruining your game forever. There are tens of thousands of Nintendo iconography on the Addon Workshop. You, Garry, are proving to your audience of players AND potential buyers, that you’re an arrogant egotist who sees nothing but what he wants to see. The way he’s phrased things have been heartless and cruel. I wish I could still recommend this game. The thing is, it USED to be good. For $10 it was a steal. Now? Well, now I wish that I could refund it. I don’t want Garry to see a single cent. He’s a narcissist who only cares about himself, and he’s proven that. This was my first purchase on Steam, all the way back in 2014. I paid $10 like everyone else. That’s cheaper than most of the McDonald’s Menu, and I wish I hadn’t ever spent it. It’s my most played game on Steam, and I regret every second of it. So, Garry, man the f*ck up and understand that your player base ACTUALLY knows what they’re talking about, and you don’t. You won’t look into it at all, because you can’t bear the thought of being wrong. Go f*ck yourself, Garry. Avoid this game at all costs. Do not buy it, PERIOD.
