Incredibly fun gunplay with a surprising soundtrack. I didn't expect this to be a headbanger, but after having played some, I genuinely believe your experience with this game would be significantly worse without motion blur and screen shake. I almost always turn those off immediately, but I forgot to, and by the time I realized, I'd come to love the moments in which I could barely see. If you're ripping through enemies too fast to see, being blind isn't much of a concern. 10/10 hidden gem on the Steam store. Should be as popular as Ultrakill, I think it'd be a smash hit with that community.

Excellent combat mechanics, expansive customization potential, and a largely-distant but present sci-fi story combine to make this game something truly exceptional. I'm a newcomer to the Armored Core series, and as I'm sure you've very likely heard from many, this game made me a fan. This game does not require you to be a particularly "good" player to thoroughly enjoy it -- out of FromSoft's catalogue, I've only beaten Elden Ring and Bloodborne. I picked up Sekiro and it took me actual, real-life months of trying before I squeezed out a victory from General Genichiro's second encounter with the player. Even with my admittedly low skill level, I am having a blast with this game, beating New Game without too much issue even before they nerfed multiple bosses in Patch 1.02.

I've gathered from reviewers and online discourse that this game's story presentation can be offputting, but after playing and falling in love with games with similar storytelling techniques, such as Ace Combat and Project Wingman, it's really nothing all too different or difficult to get used to. My friends who haven't played those games watched my screenshare of this one and could more or less follow along as well as I could. Even without following the story, though, I believe the excellent voice acting in both English and Japanese could easily sell whatever mission the player's being sent on.

I don't know about being a 10/10 game, but I certainly believe my experience thus far has been and will continue to be a 10/10. I can easily recommend this game to people, whether they have previous FromSoft experience or not. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.

Really disappointing expansion. Bounties are everywhere in this release, going so far as to include a part of the campaign with the objective of completing bounties for Eris. Forsaken and its annual pass are much more worth your money and time. Here's to hoping Beyond Light is better, because if it isn't, it'll be severely disappointing.

Absolutely fantastic solo and even better with friends. Every character (except for MUL-T) is well-balanced, the items are interesting, and everything in the game feels great. Hour-long runs feel like ten minutes. This game is beyond worth the $20 (or $15 if it's on sale).

The price has gone up since I wrote this review and my stance hasn't changed. Fantastic game.
