A lot of mechanics/skill variety/augments have been trimmed to keep combat and gameplay simple for smooth brains but the devs wanted to keep difficulty so they added the goofiest knockdown and ragdoll system with a max HP depletion mechanic
Exploration and lengthier side quests are unrewarding giving at best a portcrystal and a wakestone(both can be bought with RMT and few times will you get a weapon or armor from either) and it makes exploration feel unencouraging and bloated with backtracking to waste time.
