Pretty fun. People need to learn how to use buffs and actually engage with the new level up system, it's not optional. Most bosses were good, didn't care for when they reused the one dlc boss for no reason, but it's not that big of a deal.

I think that this is my favorite of the DLCs so far. I know that might be a strong or confusing statement considering the mixed reactions I've seen, but honestly this game has both answered some of my biggest wants and made me appreciate vanilla combat much more.

My biggest issue with the base game was lack of variety in enemies. Raiders are standard, tribal and pirate, but honestly get boring after a while, bugs are unfun because of their simplicity and not because of difficulty, and mechanisms don't really do much to differentiate themselves unless it's a crash event of some sort. The entities are really a different in behavior and makes me actually pay attention to combat rather than just wishing it was done so I could just get back to the management game play. I won't spoil it but the enemies introduced are both novel and intimidating. You can be attacked at anytime with different consequences than the (immediate) death of your colonists. They can be taken hostage, crippled, abducted, mutated, ect. I was way more engaged in the moment to moment game play than I ever was with the base game.

I really recommend going though this DLC blind your first time around, it is so exciting going though and marking off each entry in the database and seeing just how insidious the experiences can get. You get to put your colonists though constant horror movie scenarios, and that is the type of stress rimworld has always made me feel during its high points.

One last note: The update since release really improved the experience for me. I played (but didn't finish) a colony before the update and one after. Pre-update the content was much more oppressive, with the new anomoly content feeling like it overtook the base game. Post update however, I am pleased to say that this is no longer the case and that it melds much, much better into the normal game play experience.

This DLC was really different compared to the other DLCs, and I think that's a good thing. Where as Ideology and Bio-tech added new systems for you to play around with, Anomaly is a master crafted horror side story.

I really enjoyed my time with this one, although for different reasons than the original. The game play has been majorly upgraded, feeling much less jank, especially the combat. You won't be missing jumps because of awkward camera controls or struggling with timing like in the first either. Also, don't want to go into spoilers, but I feel like the story of this is much better and more mature than the first as well. My only complaint is that it's more of a combat plat-former now rather than a puzzle plat-former like the original. Makes for better pacing, but it's pretty much just a straight shot from beginning to end without many pauses throughout. Unless you're interested, you don't really need to explore either, which is a shame since the environment is so interesting (although I relent that if you enjoy the world you're probably going to do that regardless).

This game is the biggest labor of love I've witnessed, not only from an indie studio, but in the entire industry.

Fun, but a little expensive for the price compared to how much you actually get out of it. I got ~10 hours out of it, and completed most of it within a single afternoon. Great game play here, just wish there was more. Recommend playing, but buy when it has a sale going on.

Honestly I would say that this DLC is only for those who are hungry for more Outer Worlds. If you played the base game and wanted more, play MOE. If your still wanting after that, then I would say to play this.

I appreciate what this DLC tries to do, but the mystery isn't that interesting and the combat is mostly the same as what you got from the base game. It's not bad, just unoriginal and simple. This is defiantly the lesser of the two DLCs in my eyes.

So ya, more of a good this alright, but there is nothing entirely new or engaging here either.

I thoroughly enjoyed this expansion. I liked the story and the new characters being introduced are entertaining. If you like the dialog and stories told in the base game, this is much more of that. Much better than the last DLC's story. The side quests are also varied and interesting, with a good variety that expands upon the world building.

However, there are some things that I must mention that detract from this expansion. While I feel that the story was strong overall, it did dip in quality near the ending parts. Your choices ultimately fall flat in the end. Also worth noting is that if you are looking for a more combat oriented experience, than this DLC is not for you, as the main focus is on dialog and exploration, with light touches of combat sprinkled on top.

So, if you enjoyed the base game, then I would recommend this expansion, just go into it expecting what is says on the tin and not much else.

This game is generally ok, if you usually like the survival sort of game play. despite my game time, I never finished the main story due to how generic and boring it is.

If you like games with amazing world building, good stories, and exploration, then this game should be one that you should consider. The world is very detailed, and rewards attention to detail. The setting is dynamic, humerus, and a great setting for interesting characters, factions, and locations.

The combat is serviceable, having depth, challenge, and a multitude of strategies\play-styles, although I would be dishonest if I said that it gets a bit stale in the endgame. If you find a style that works with one enemy it generally works for all of them. The combat is a bonus, but don't buy this game because of it.

Overall I would recommend this game to most with appreciation for story telling and exploring complex Si-Fi worlds. If any none of this sounds like your jam, then there's nothing else you can really get out of this game.

My favorite game, no questions asked. It improves the gameplay of Fallout 3, mostly guns. They added ironsites and weapon mods, but they are limited and feel less like a way to modify your weapon and more like straight upgrades to your weapon. This game's true strength is it's story telling. The story is the most interesting since Fallout 2, and allows an immense amount of freedom from a story telling standpoint. You feel like you affect the world, weither it be though big or small events and decisions. I highly recommend this game for it's story.
