I downloaded the game to play with my friends, as that way we would bypass pay to win mechanics. But we found out there IS a free to play mode where every Kart has the same stars and is upgraded to the same level, meaning its skill based rather then pay to win.

You can slowly get stuff to upgrade your kart which is a nice goal to try to reach as a free to play, meanwhile enjoy Single player, fixed multiplayer and privet matches with friends. Music is amazing and the way the game plays is what you expect to see in a really good Kart game.

I do not know why all the negative reviews I believe they didn't use to have fixed stat kart mode (where everyone is the same level) which I cant believe they went full on pay to win.

If you are looking to spend the pass might be all you need, personally what you get for free there is good enough.

$60 and no PS controller support..
Further more poor controls explanation "Jump by pressing LS" sure, just failed to mention the conditions that need to be met for that to work. So its LS (Left stick) to move + holding dodge to make you run + pressing LS which is strange as why do i need to sprint to jump?

Perfect Perry is much harder than in Sekiro and less consistent. In Sekiro there are rules and consistencies here its a simple rule, only try to parry if you want to die.

"Special abilities" are never explained simply says "Use weapon art" ok? wtf does it do? I have 2 of them both look the same when I do them... What is the condition for them to be triggered? These elementary things shouldn't be thought from continuously dieing and smashing buttons to test out the waters of how it even works. That is reserved for mastering them not for learning how to walk.

Issue with the controller is now fixed and is supported. However MANY items are miss-able and can never be obtained. This stings as many are tied to achievements

Serious concerns to note before buying:
This is a CARD GAME with shooter mechanics.
What I mean by that is you use cards not to just buff yourself but playing specific cards WINS you the round.
There is nothing your opponent can do or in some cases he needs to have a very specific card at that specific moment.

For example I can use a card that does dmg whenever you use a card, I can also use a card that spawns in your hand and if you dont cast it out you will take 100dmg but if you do cast it out you will take 12. HOWEVER when you cast it out it goes back to ME and I can IMMEDIATELY use it again.

I can use a card that makes me invincible, catch being I leave behind my hart that you need to find and destroy.
HOWEVER i can CHANGE THE MAP by using a card thus my hart doesnt exist, now I am invincible.

There are also 2 other cards that allow me to be invincible with a combined total of 10s. Nothing you can do, GOOD LUCK!

These are just a few of the MANY MANY combos that result in a 99% win rate for you. This is not why the review is negative, all of this could be fixed. Except that the developers of this game INSIST that this ONLY FEELS UNFAIR and is in fact fine. Reason being a counter to these cards exists in the game, thus its balanced.

My experience with the game is fighting people and them alt+f4ing whenever they experience this absolute BS which isn't even fun for ME let alone the person im doing it too. I play with friends and we have a ban list of cards as well as ban list of combination of cards and that brought the fun and joy back in to our games.

There are 3 different worlds in the game that you can visit. Each of them is randomly generated however this changes absolutely nothing. Because they look the same(meaning the aesthetic of the map)and they have the same enemies. So the selling point of "Its always different" isn't the case. Turning left instead of right doesn't give it a new feel.

2 worlds have a design flaw, and no matter how its generated the issue remains. In the jungle world it tries to generate many gaps, so that you need to jump over and across (Like a short cut that you can use) however it only looks that way. This results in many people trying to jump gaps and just falling to their deaths.
They try this because your character has 1 jump and a vault(This part is confusing as f). So to make the player be able to do cool maneuvers your character can jump 3m in the air from a flight of stairs jumping over the enemy. This is allowed (Or activated) when you are in combat. OTHERWISE you can only dodge, until there is a gap at which point the dodge turns in to a vault.

That jump I mentioned also nullifies all fall dmg, so when you are in combat the gaps I mentioned before CAN be crossed with ease. This is a poor mechanic for so many reason main one being the game cant tell when you want to dodge near a ledge or commit suicide. Also when does it activate? Sometimes My teammates are below me fighting. The game MIGHT think im in that battle as well so it MIGHT allow me to jump down. Otherwise I will vault off a cliff.

The 3th world has no cliffs or walls, they are replaced with a toxic gas. This would be ok in every scenario except where the placement of the barrier is auto generated. It doesn't help that they make the character throw up stopping him in his tracks as soon as you step in to the UNMARKED ZONE!! It also doesnt help that the zone IS marked on the map the same way all unexplored areas are, it also doesnt help that even though its out of bounds there are still places made so that you can climb. There is NO difference between the dead zone and the rest of the map.

This has stopped me and many others from exploring areas we should have went to, after researching and realizing we need to go to the tower in the distance, the true horror of this system showed itself. We had to find A SPECIFIC "Path" to go to the tower looking for a break in the dead zone. Again everything on the map is flat why make it a chore and put fake walls up. Might as well make it a maze.

*RPG elements of talking to the NPCs is bizarre.*
"Go fetch me this thing I need and meet me at this location"
>Ok where is this location?
"NO TIME, I NEED THE THING RIGHT NOW"
>FINE, what is the thing you need?
"I SAID NO TIME GO GET THE THING"
>Where is it?
"NO TIME! GO GET THE THING"
The dialog is offered, I CAN ask, but they refuse to answer which made it EVEN more difficult. I have went to every location in the world and we are YET TO FIND whatever this dude is looking for. Quest "tracker" is just a taunting tracker "Find *insert name of thing* description: Find *Insert name of thing* in *name of world*".

Many other smaller things but this drove me insane.

I have never seen more monetization in a game, not even close. There are about 6+ currencies in the game and 10+ tabs where you can go and spend money. Everything that I click is like a sales person in your face. Going through the menu was full of lag as well, might be the shear amount of micro transactions causing it idk. Put everything you are trying to sell in one place.

The game makes you do a tutorial and then makes you do it AGAIN calling it "Advanced tutorial" where we learn how to press space to jump... this wasnt really clear the 1st nor the 2nd time. jumping is too complicated and tutorials dont help 0/10

Sadly you can not play with random people online, which means you HAVE TO play with a friend. This is because going solo is not fun and unfair experience. You need to do 10 things at once and enemies dont die any easier solo vs co-op. I thought the game will have multiplayer as the tag suggest however its just online co-op with friends not multiplayer.

The price increased, problems stayed and no fixes since July. Disappointing can not recommend.

There are actually even more problems all GAME BREAKING. You will lose runs because of glitches will update if they ever fix them. Also game crashes way more so thats great.

If you will win or lose will be determined at the very start of the game most of the time. This is because this game has a major flaw; As soon as you are countered by enemy starting units you are playing catch up with the enemy which never ends until your loss.

SO HERES HOW IT GOES:

-So if I start with swarm type units and my enemy has anti-swarm units I lose a huge chunk of my HP.
- I build a unit that counters his, however he already built units to counter my counter.
- I build units to counter the counters counter BUT he already built units to counter my unit that is countering his counter to the counter.
And so on.
Bad placement of units on his end MIGHT make me win, however the same thing can be said if I don't place mine well.
All of this is enhanced if he places units on my flank where now I am left with 2 things to counter and only a max of 2 units to place.
This is all made worse by the way you win, you deal dmg to the player by the amount AND type of troops left on the field. Meaning that even IF i win a round I will deal a quarter of the dmg he dealt to me at the very start of the game. Why? Well because almost nothing can survive especially if he uses abilities.

TL;TR
The game is either a up mounten battle or down hill battle, this is determined by luck. This level of luck in a strategy game should never come close to one, thus you should stay away from this one, unless you want to gamble.
