Nice game. I love the free roaming vibes. Basically if u had ur own crew of one of those battle rigs in mad max. But ur own man. Kinda awesome. I am requesting the develpors for steam deck optimisation tho. Itll be radical on it.

Im a sad cynical ass. But even i bought this. Devs are incredible. Have been playing the original game on adroid in the early 2010s when i was a wee boy. And spent many hours on frontiers. They jus kept updating even tho i stopped. Couldnt help myself to buy it (very reasonable price too).

First ever game i religiously played in my late teens around a decade ago after not actually touching much games. Its a openworldish FPS MMO-like. Met great people and theres many things to do. For example, personally i mained pilot. In which theres a faction specific fighter (theres 3 factions. To summarise, purple spandex tech cult, american red dictatorship and normal yeehaw freedum merica) and like some unholy cross between an A-10 and a VTOL. Used to tryhard so much in those i became gud and many people got angry (skill issue lel cos those are hard to master). But thats just the life of a pilot. Infantry has 5 unique classes, of which they really are different. LIght assault (fly boys), heavies (camp at a doorway with an overshield), engineers (fixer uppems), medics (enuf said) and my fav, infiltrators (able to camouflage. mind you the camouflage mechanic is very balanced, kinda like Halo iykyk) which can be kitted for either sniping or running around an smg and backshotting. Theres also tanks. And while i was gone from the community apparently now theres some airship thing and boats even. The community was actually one of the most decent and have made friends along the way. Its really an amazing game. Outfits (like guilds) were a thing that greatly enhanced the social aspect. There were many. Tryhard outfits, troll outfits, chill outfits. And i dont remember a single cheater those days. Amazing for an online game.

But this game seems to be in decline... Please daybreak merge the servers or allow character transfers, and bring back the massive chaotic fights that made this game what it is. I may actually play religiously again... No one is a hero, we all just want to swarm indar biotech again.

Its been almost half a year. Still, im voting down. First off, personally i find it a beautiful game. Environment, characters, storytelling, the warp stuff. Combat can be new and exciting, kinda complicated but its k. But the bugs were so bad. Theres been alot of fixes but apparently not enough, that is how bad the quality of the game is. It is sad seeing an artful game not hit its potential due to the more grimy side of games. 1.2 update is coming up and i hope it will make me finish this unpolished gem.

UPDATE 14 SEPT 24: Much better i guess after 1.2. And as usual, some of the new voice lines are terrific. The bugs i guess are on the level of other games now. So its fine (although the achievements bugs are still there.. and quite annoying). But overall way more pleased. I dont actually feel like a beta tester now. Its great. Looking forward to the DLC

One of the best city building/survival games ive played. The story is just so good and bleak with abit of hope/feel good parts. Abit challenging gameplay wise on some settings/maps but that adds to the overall bleakness of the story and gives your brain a good wringing. Frostpunk 2 is coming out and would like to see this game get more exposure.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD: Play as the leader of a city set in Victorian England with an apocalyptic snow storm that have temperatures even dip below -100C. Make decisions that are morally dubious but may just what the city needs to survive. Send out scouts to save people, or be forced to leave them to die as your cities infrastructure is at critical capacity and cannot sustain any more bodies. The choice is yours. The city must survive.

I post this after 600 plus hours and playing an old save file into the Biotech mod. My pride wants me to give this a thumbs down as BIotech really added ♥♥♥♥ that i cant handle even after 600 hours, and the death of my finely crafted super soldier (leader mechs really? Pls give clearer view of potential enemies so my feelings dont get hurt). But still, so far every DLC is out of this world for this game and free mods themselves can be attributed to mini DLCs. Never goes on sale since release in 2016? Idk anymore. Its a story/management game that honestly anyone can get into.

Uh really good game. Xenocide? Assimilation? Slavery? This game got it all, and its in spaceeee.

Do you feel justified killing a few hundred million in India, China and Brazil, and putting the world in a semi nuclear winter, to stop the alien scum? Do you think the US has not reached peak manifest destiny and should absorb those high nosed Canadians and sun tanned Mexicans? Well then, this is the game for you. Unique concepts such as an interactive geopolitical map controlled by your minions, accuratish and taxing space combat (and a very detailed solar system) and near future/sci-fi science concepts are interesting bits to this game. Suffers from the same problem of many Grand Strategy/4x games in which the end game problems are to be expected. Still in early access and has a few bugs (but not game breaking for most so far) but it betrays the amount of work put into this game.

Relaxed non stressful grand strategy game if you play like that.
That is until u lose a superior quality 20k men army to a 10k one, jus cos they keep rolling a 10 while u get 1s, repeatedly.
