I love a lot of things about Germany, especially the history.
I'm not as old as you'd expect but that just gives one more thing to remember me by.
I also have birds who you will most likely hear screaming if I'm on during the day.

Dog and long time member of my family. Was the first real loss of 2020 I had experienced. He is buried beside a dogwood tree.

My Great Grandmother Joe, Date Unknown, 2021.
She was a sweet great grandmother, especially when we'd have special dinners at her house.
She died a year before her husband (my great grandfather) Dave.

My Great Grandfather Dave, August 22, 2022.
My great grandfather lived easily 90 years I'd say. He was a veteran of Vietnam (maybe even earlier wars), I believe a navy seal, great talker, and a survivor. He lost his wife (my great grandmother) about 2 years before he died.
Every year, the doctors said from 2020 to 2022 it would be his last 4th of July, last birthday, last Christmas and yet he always pushed for one more. He would end up passing just one day after his birthday in the middle of the night.
It's still a little weird at times to think he's gone, but his death is less of a sad one and more of a celebration of a completed life in my eyes. He lived everything you could wish for!

My father's long time companion and old four legged friend Olivia, August 28th, 2023.
Olivia, aged 16, died while my father was away at work. I haven't seen her in a while, and her being a dog, she was another survivor in my family just like my great grandfather Dave.
This has been particularly hard on me. She's been there since I was there. And while My parents went separate ways, and Olivia away from me, she still meant a lot to my father; and while at times he is irritating, he means a lot to me. This death effects him deeply, she was his greatest friend in recent years.

Grimm was the family cat; he was a very calm cat and had a nice little dynamic with my birds. Kind of like Tom and Jerry, except he did want to eat my birds. I'm going to miss that little rivalry between them.
