I'll keep this review short and sweet. It's a great game and hits the perfect balance between relaxing to play and incredibly engaging. I want to explore every crevice, try every dialogue option, replay every combat to see the outcome of my decisions. In no other game have I experienced this level of narrative breadth and replayability. I wholeheartedly recommend BG3 to any and all that are slightly interested.

It's my game of the year candidate for 2023 for sure.

Hands down the best game of 2020 already.

id has done something special here. They took the winning Doom 2016 formula and cranked it up to 666. Doom Eternal is in every way more intense, more violent, and more fun. The story is the weakest part of the game unfortunately, and the codex entries don't seem to capture the imagination in the same vein as 2016, but fortunately the Slayer doesn't give much of a f**k about the story and neither do I (the cutscenes are also skippable, if exposition is getting in the way of you ripping and tearing). After all, the story is merely a superficial necessity in order to give you the slightest reason to wreak havoc amongst the demonic horde. And good God, wreaking havoc is an understatement. This game is nothing short of the most violent and most fun shooter I've ever played.

At the heart of Eternal's success is the unprecedented fluidity and innate sense of joy garnered from it's gameplay. If you thought Doom 2016 felt good to play, just wait until you play it's big brother here. I don't anticipate playing a game this fun again until id's next Doom release.

Bought this game because it was on sale but now that I have had a chance to play it, I would definitely have bought it at full price. The music is on point. The graphics are great (at least with a gtx 970 although i imagine if your running the game at low settings it would still look pretty good), as it allows you to really understand and appreciate the environment your put in. Im loving the different kinds of monsters, as well as the brief decsriptions given for each that can be found as you explore the world. The minimalistic story works in the games favour, as there isnt (much) dialogue interrupting my killing sprees, and I find there to be just enough of a plot to keep me intrigued and immersed. The gameplay is very hectic, as you will often wander into a seemingly empty room, get trapped inside, and then get forced to survive a wave or two of demons before you're able to proceed, all while hoping you dont run out of ammunition. This is of course, all in the classic DOOM style and although it might sound repetitive and boring, it is actually quite fun as the wide array of weapons and monsters allow these arena battles to be varied and exciting. Speaking of the weapons, they're awesome! (At least the 7 or 8 i have discovered so far are). I have found the shotgun to be the most practical and helpful, with the explosive shot modification equipped for scenarios where i need to deal a little extra damage. The plasma rifle is an excellent secondary when i need to deal damage at a longer range or need to spray into a crowd, and the chainsaw is probably the most fun to use of them all, as glory kills create some of the most entertaining (and brutal) moments within DOOM. I also really like the fact that there are upgrades (or mods as they are called in game) available for each weapon. They allow the weapons of your choice to evolve in such a way that keep them competitive with the monsters you face as those monsters increase in difficulty. Apart from the OG DOOM, this game also reminds me of the flood levels from the original Halo games, as the atmosphere is creepy, the enemies are deadly and the gameplay is ridiculously fast. If you are a fan of the original DOOM, or you like the flood levels from the original Halo games, or you are a fan of the FPS shooter genre, or even if you are bored and have your parents credit card: Dont hesitate, BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!

*NOTE*: If you are religious and/or find demons, pentagrams, blood, gore, hell, demonic presences, possessions, violence, or anything else that is basically a main theme in this game offensive: IGNORE THE ABOVE and HESITATE! Im sure you can find a first person shooter game thats more suitable for you. ie.Super 3D Noah's Ark (yes its a real game).
