“The idea of regretting not doing this seemed insane to me. Sitting in the corner at a bar at age 60, saying: 'I could've been Bond. Buy me a drink.' That's the saddest place I could be. At least now at 60 I can say: 'I was Bond. Now buy me a drink.'” -- Daniel Craig

yeah. They've already gotten to the point that it can defeat the Turing test. But for propaganda it's even more useful...so you just have to be more skeptical of everything

Thanks for letting me know. It is cool and a bit scary to know that AI not only can translate well but also sounds like a real person.

Well, that's cool to know. I took a look at the model's history, and basically it was a bunch of other models merged together, and one of them was Yi-34B (a Chinese model) so maybe that had something to do with it. I think by default all AI wants to speak formal/correct sounding English, Chinese, Japanese, etc.

If you decide you want to check it out for yourself, "LM Studio" is pretty easy to get started when you don't know much of what you're doing.

It certainly does a great job. If you don't tell me you are using AI and just post those words to me, I'd think you are fluent in Chinese. :)

The first example was done by ParasiticRogue/Merged-RP-Stew-V2-34B-exl2-4.65-fix which isn't a specialty Chinese speaking model. In fact they did they original translation for me 9 hours ago, but when I had the model translate for me again, I told it to make sure to sound more casual and natural.

The first one. It sounds like a real person speaking, not a trace of AI translation. What model/website are you using?
