The game builds upon an already amazing universe, and it's simply amazing. Play the first one first though.

The game is quite fun and enjoyable in the beginning and upgrades don't take that long, progression is at a really good pace, you feel like your moving forward in the game until you reach around level 6 on your ship. At that point upgrades take forever, 8+ hours of waiting for a smallest of things. And waiting times only get longer and longer from there on 2 days+ waiting times, and the only way to avoid this is... (you guessed it) micro-transactions, when it comes to micro-transactions this game tops everything else in the industry. Progression in the game pretty much comes to a halt after reaching level 6, and you can see this everywhere in PVP mode because you'll frequently run into abandoned ships that players probably haven't played on for months or even years (because of lost interest due to the paywalls and ridiculous waiting times). The only players you'll end up fighting against are people who are really into the game and probably spent quite a lot on it.

TLDR:
Don't get this game unless you plan to spend money on it, it is a simple soulless pay to win game that favors the people who are willing to throw money at it. Great potential though.
