What a fantastic game! One of the best I've played recently. It's actually criminal how underrated it is and I don't see that much talk of it online. It has some minor issues tho, so lets go on with the pros and cons.

Pros:

- While story is nothing groundbreaking, it's intriguing and the presentation of the world keeps you engaged.
- From the technical standpoint, this game is 100 out of 10. The visuals, presentation, sound design, physics... Last time I was impressed with physics was Half-Life 2, barely any game from then does something amazing with physics like this one does. Sound design is just superb, and the dynamic soundtrack is on another level. Destructible environment is another thing done perfectly, every bits and pieces of walls or any surfaces falls off realistically. It's just great.
- The world itself and level design are great, at first you think it will be just a huge office complex, but there'a lot more to it.
- Some side missions are super unique and fun.
- I love the main character. She's awesome. And you get to fell like a Superman when you unlock all of your abilities.
- Controls and animations are responsive and well made.
- I love the whole setting and world, it's so bizarre and weird.

Now for the cons:

- Game is not hard, but sometimes enemies can one shot you and difficulty spikes out of nowhere.
- Game is kinda semi-open world, so when you backtrack, enemies can spawn again in the places you've already been and sometimes it gets boring and annoying to just fight them over and over, especially if die repeatedly in section.
- Speaking of enemies, the real only issue I have is AI is dumb and mostly bad. And it's especially annoying when you fight in a big arena, and there's last enemy left, that's hidden somewhere and you spend like a minute trying to find him.
- I wish they've incorporated more puzzles, game lets you do amazing things with physics, but barely uses it to its advantage, seems like more focus is put on combat sections.
- Would love to see more weird enemies, its mostly just standard soldiers. And yeah, more varied bosses.

As for the DLC's, there are 2 of them, The Foundation and AWE. I'll speak super short on them.

- Foundation is kinda meh, it has great moments but overall nothing special. You get 2 abilities, to create stone spikes/platforms or to destroy them with a gun. Amazing.

- AWE is a lot better one, and it connects the Alan Wake with this game, that's the big twist. It includes the mechanics from Alan Wake, avoiding shadows and using object with light. The boss fights are great, some tense and creepy moments. You get a new gun, which is basically a grenade launcher. Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot more than Foundation.

Really don't have that many issues, all of these are minor nitpicks. 100% recommended to anyone! More unique games like this need support.

Fantastic mod, they've polished and made a lot of changes to original game. Check their info for the full list of changes.

As far as actual other campaigns (fan mods) I've written short reviews of each of them, here it goes:

Dark Matter - Not bad, sick moments and level design, music is creepy, I love they took the assets from other games. Ending is gold lmao
Devil's manor 1 & 2 - Garbage, especially 2 wtf mod
Dark Army Uprising - Garbage
Pharaoh's Curse - I got stuck at start so I just quit it lmao
Capuzzo - Short ok mod
Project 51 - Ok mod
Time Gate - Longest mod, but so empty, no missions or anything, you're just moving and killing, no story at all. Best level design tho, but ending is buuuuuulls***. You fight against 6 (SIX)!!! Super soldiers. Cancer
Arkot map pack - nice level design, nothing special otherwise
Tondheim trilogy - Really good mod, second best. Super hard because there's barely health kits.
Stalingrad - Annoying and boring, you're literally killing the whole Russia cuz how many enemies there are...

100% recommend tho, at least playing the main game. You can check mods only if you are going for achievements or you're brain dead and enjoy jank garbage.

Good game, with some issues, which sucks because I loved the first one.

Still recommend both of the games and here's hoping we get a third one!

I've written a huge ass review for all the 3 games and Steam says to me that my review is 5,408 characters too long... so I guess I'll say it in a few words.

So I've never actually played this franchise, except for the remake that came out in 2013, just gave it a try for a while, but nothing too much. Over the years however, I was always interested in the franchise, but never had the opportunity to give it a go. Well finally, I've decided to start from the very beginning. A quick review of each game from this collection:

DMC 1 great game, with many issues and dated stuff, but still great and rewarding game.
DMC 2 terrible game, with so many issues and dated stuff, but still terrible and boring game.
DMC 3 one of the best games ever made, with so many great things and moments and satisfying gameplay and combat, with barely issues. Holds up almost perfectly today.

I’m glad I finally started this franchise, because I had a blast! Not so much with the 2nd game, but first and third one (especially) are just great. I 100% recommend it to everyone to give it a try, it might get hard to start with the first one, but you can easily just go for the third if you can’t handle the controls. I’ve heard only good things about the next games, especially the 5th one, so I’m hyped to check them out!

I won't review the OG game and OG content, because it's Quake... C'mon man, if you haven't for some reason played it, do it now! I'll only focus on the remaster and new episode.

First of all, they've added all the episodes and original soundtrack, all in single package, which is nice. Fantastic job on remastering, the new effects etc. it looks great, although the only issue I have is sometimes game would stutter and frame rate would drop when hectic stuff is happening.

The MachineGames have created a totally new episode, called "Dimension of the Machine". I've gotta say, they've done fantastic job. Level design is great, the flow, the pace, different and unique settings. It should take you around 2-3 hours, up to 4, depending on how you play and on what difficulty.
My only issues would be the sometimes lack of health and ammo pickups. I've finished episode on Nightmare, and some levels there is fair amount of ammo and health, then suddenly on the next level you barely have it and you play it as survival horror or something, I had to skip and run through some sections because I had no ammo. Now this could be Nightmare related, I don't know about the other difficulties.
The 2nd and last gripe I have is one level (I can't remember the name or which one) which is total BS.
For example, you will encounter occasionally 2, sometimes 3 Shamblers, dozens of Death Knights, dozens of Vores (which are absolute cancer) and those are some of the hardest hitting enemies, while at the same time barely any ammo and health in it. Lucky for me I got super skilled and used to enemy patterns so I managed to finish it, but it's still a brutal level and you will die a lot! And yeah, they've added achievements, that's why I finished it all on Nightmare, otherwise I wouldn't.

Overall, a fantastic remaster, for free! Any Quake fan will love it, and it became super accessible to the new players. Get it!

Absolute gem of a remaster!

I've actually never played the original games, was aware of them but for some reason I ignored them. Too bad, seems I missed some great games. So this is my first time entry to Spyro franchise, and I love these games!
I saw some comparisons of old vs new and they did a fantastic job! It feels like playing a Pixar movie. To sum up the goals in the games: You basically have to free dragons, collect items or collect eggs and progress to the end of the levels, that's the main gist of it. However, you can go for 100% completion, and that requires to collect all the items stuff and gems in the level (gems go usually from 300 to 700 per level, depends). Let me go fast over three games you get here:

First one:

- Really good, with lots of fun and unique levels. But for the love of God, some of the ways you had to get the last few remaining gems is absolutely nuts. I mean how would kids realize this stuff? I, as an adult, had to rely on Youtube few times because I just couldn't figure it out. Loved the boss fights, loved the world, simple and fun game.

Second one:

- Now this is where the game gets more "flavors". This time you don't just need to free dragons like in the last one (basically you touch the frozen dragon and it gets free, that's it), you actually get to do sorta like mini quests. You progress through level and you stumble upon random npcs that give you a certain tasks to complete and you get an orb as reward. I like this because the game gets more fun and you always do something different, it doesn't get repetitive. You also get to unlock certain abilities (swimming, climbing) and because of this, you will be backtracking a few times if you are doing 100% completion, because in the first level, you need to climb in one place to get gems and orb, but you won't learn climbing until later in the game. Overall, almost the same as original, but with few improvements and additions that spices up the formula. The best one in my opinion.

The third one:

- This one is good, but some points are kinda dissapointing (the last boss fight felt rushed and super easy). But overall, mostly same stuff as before, except the biggest addition now is that you meet a few new characters along the way and you can play as them in some levels. All of them are unique and have their unique strenghts and weaknesses. And some of them I like, some of them I find a chore to play with.

Games were created on the Unreal 4 engine, and they are all consistent visually, so it feels like you're playing a single big game. My biggest issue, like most people have, is the camera. Sometimes, especially on boss fights, it's horrible. It mostly works against you and you will die a lot because of it. Other issue I have is that mostly game is super easy (obviously main target audience are kids), you will get tons of lives without wasting any for a long time, but sometimes suddenly difficulty will spike so hard, you will lose half of those lives just like that. And some of the puzzles are so obscure and random that when I checked a guide, I was dumbfounded on how did someone even realize this. Sometimes game would stutter for me, but nothing game breaking.

Overall, a fantastic remaster that everyone should give it a try, and if you are going for achievements and 100%, it will take you a while (30 hours it took me). Perfect games to just relax, chill, have fun and sometimes get frustrated but satisfied once you nail it.
3 games this good for a 40€ is a steal and you won't regret getting this!

What a blast of a game!

I've been gaming my whole life, but for some reason this game just flew under my radar. I always heard about it when it originally came out, but never paid that much attention to it. Well too bad, boy what did I miss...

The good stuff:

- Main character Crypto is just awesome, with some funny lines here and there.
- Visually looks beautiful and was mostly running fine on my PC (had 2 crashes tho) but still nothing to get mad over it.
- Weapons and abilities are super fun and great to use, they sound good, they make a huge impact. Especially when you fully upgrade everything, you become a killing machine, kinda OP.
- Blowing things up with saucer is again, super fun and well made.
- Controls are responsive and good.
- Nice amount of content, after finishing main story, you can visit 6 unique cities, with collectibles and challenges to do.

The bad things:

Honestly, I've had no any big issues with the game, I had 2 crashes and few times game would stutter for a second, but nothing to get mad over.

Since I've never played the original, saw a few videos of comparisons and I've gotta say, this is how you remake a game! Leave most of the stuff like in the original, with some quality of life and visual improvements. That's it. They improved it from the original in every way possible in my opinion (maybe except the character models, they look kinda dumb here).

Overall, I had a blast with this game and I totally recommend it to anyone.

This game is fantastic! Pure art.

Got it for free, but first time I'm actually sad I didn't pay it. It's that good. Short, but damn well made game. Visually perfect, art style is perfect, sound design is perfect, world is weird and twisted, enemies are creepy. I literally can't find a single flaw in this game, except that its short. I 100% enjoyed it and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Damn, it's almost 20 years since this game has been released! Damn, I feel super old now, time really does fly...
I remember as I kid I've played this, had a blast, but at the same time, barely progressing through the game, managed to get to the near end of 3rd level the furthest.

So now, after all these years, I've replayed it recently. Here's some of my thoughts:

- The setting, world and atmosphere are really great. I love the WW2 themes, mixed with some sci-fi elements.
- The iconic Id Tech 3 engine is legendary at this point, and game was really great looking back when it released. Obviously today it doesn't hold up, but still I just love the textures of the terrain and models, it's instantly recognizable.
- Music is great, songs that kick in at the right moment really make the moments more memorable.
- I love some of the monster designs, even tho I wish there was more of it.
- By far the best aspect of the game is gunplay. Weapons feel and sound great, with much of variety, and almost all of them have a role in certain situations.
- Voice acting is moooostly good.
- I've played on hardest difficulty and yes, this game is brutal, but it's fair. Enemies are not bullet sponges (most of them) and if you fire a single bullet to the head, enemy will die, no bs full magazine sprays to kill someone. Although it's a lot easier than I remember.
- Level design is good, lots of variations to the locations.

Now, for the bad stuff:

- Game is super short. There are only 7 missions, which each contains 3-4 levels, which some can be complete in mere minutes, if you're not exploring every single corner that is. Took me around 3 hours on hardest difficulty.
- Story is meh and nothing special.
- Boss fights are lame and dissapointing, all of them are bullet sponges that you just shoot, avoid damage and hope they die before they rip you apart. Although I've gotta give a 1+ to the game for the sole reason of unique and hilarious way how to kill off the last boss with 1 hit. Won't spoil anything.
- Some of the sound effects are funny and low quality, especially the last boss, when you fire at him and his armor is falling off, it sounds like the kitchen pots are falling on the floor lmao sounds like a cartoon.
- Voice acting, while mostly good, some of the moments are super cringe and bad. I especially am annoyed at the fact that Nazis are speaking english.
- Cutscenes sometimes have that hilarious "jank" effect.
- By far the biggest offenders are the forced stealth sections, especially the first one. It's mission 3, you start off in the forest and you need to sneak around to the near base and hop on truck, without ever being spotted by anyone. If you get spotted, alarm goes off and mission failed pops out. What makes this so annoying and stupid is there are no stealth mechanics in this game like the recent Wolf games, you get a weapon with a silencer, but it's basically useless, because even if you kill someone, enemies will somehow magically react to it and get triggered, even if they are thousand yards from you, but look at your direction, they'll notice you and sound the alarm. What's more idiotic is, you'll stumble upon few towers with guards on it, scanning the area by binoculars. That's all fine, but you don't have any long range weapon to kill them, but there is a quest which tells you to GET a silenced ranged weapon, and that's near the end of the level. Why not just give it at the start of the level???? It's so dumb. I've mastered that level and can bunny hop through it fast, so its no issue for me anymore, but newcomers will hate it, just as I did before. Thankfully, it's only the first level, and rest of the mission is guns blazing action. The other stealth section is actually not bad, it's much later in the game, in the city and more tight, but still has its bs moments (like a guard hearing you killing someone with a silencer, from the next door house). Same as before, it lasts for only one level, so there are 2 levels of forced stealth in the whole game.
- Game as a whole, I don't know how to explain it, but it just lacks maybe a more living world. I know technology and all that, limitations, budget etc. but levels sometimes are super big, but soo empty and barren, you meet throughout it a handful of allies etc. You could interpret that as believable WW2 world, but I don't know, I don't like it.

Most of the folks praise this game as "one of the best FPS games ever made" and I'm like... why? I get the appeal, the Nazis, WW2 era, sci-fi elements and monsters etc. but game has a lot of flaws and in my opinion, if it got at least half a more year for more polish and refining some elements, it would've been one of the GOATS. I've grown to love it and I still recommend it, it's an enjoyable experience, but be prepared for the early 2000's video game, you know the one.

If you want a much improved experience, download the "realRTCW" free mod for the game. It improves on a looot of things, it's really really good!
