What makes you think that you need to own a game for life, before it's worth spending money on? With that kind of silly logic of yours, you would never pay for a Netflix subscription or a nice vacation, after all that money is gone too, just like the money for a honeymoon.
It's also rather funny that you're making that argument, while you own almost 500 games, 95% of which you never played more than 10 hours.
One should always look at ' cost / "hours played" '.

You like the game a lot, otherwise you wouldn't play it for 1700 hours. In that context I fail to understand why you regret spending money on it. You should regret buying Dirt Rally and only spending 20 hours on it...
