edit: Horse physics are WRONG. When an enemy riding parallel to me strikes with a spear, the damage shouldn't be amped up as we are travelling in the same direction and the speed bonus would be null. Combat is still really fun but that simple mistake RUINED my immersion. Also when my horse gets hit it veers off in a random direction getting us both killed. It's understandable that a horse would panic upon receiving pain, but I wish that it would run away from the danger like an actual horse would rather than face-planting into a wall dooming itself.

I played this game a few years ago on IOS, and it was by far my most played game on my IPad. I just realized it came out on PC, and with a brand new update a few days ago and I haven't been able to stop playing since!

It's still the best rogue-like dungeon game I've ever played. The gameplay is challenging and rewards you figuring out how to best fight an enemy rather than grinding up to have better gear. The skill-cap on this game goes on and on, there's always a more efficient way to clear a room. The lore is also fantastic, and gradually builds up multiple pieces of information for you to cobble together into the true story of what happened at Amaranth Keep.

I love this game, and I always will. I definitely reccomend it (it's only 12 bucks!) as it's more than worth the price. Good luck fellow adventurers! : )

It's an overall super fun game, but there's a lot of problems that are being fixed very slowly. You're better off enjoying this game in a year or two when the majority of unbearable problems have been dealt with. Waste of time and money until then. Some of the issues I have at the moment:
Rampant hacker issue.
Long que times.
Having to wait for long que times AGAIN after someone fails to load into your match.
Inconsistent game slowdown (insanely fast heals with boons, medkits) so much so that the new killers usually need to have additional slowdown in their kit.
♥♥♥♥♥♥ balancing decisions that go unaddressed for years (hillbilly nerf and all of his addons converted to garbage)

Eh it's okay I guess. Graphics heavy, lots of lag. Great duels for 1v1ing NPCs, however group fights feel clunky as you are forced to lock onto one opponent at a time and fighing more than one person is a pain.

The missions tend to be tedious rather than fun, and I enjoy going out and fighting bandits more than the actual storyline. If you want to really invest yourself into a game than feel free to pick this one. Though if you want to play a game that you can stay into far past completion of the quests, I wouldn't reccomend this game. It definitely isn't worth 60 dollars, but if you have extra funds I'd say why not? A lot of the quests outcomes are based on your previous knowledge making it seem as if maxing out your knowledge and skill levels before starting any quests would be ideal.

Some of the bosses are way too hard, and fighting the first real one was impossible for me to complete with just my sword. I couldn't even get him below 3/4ths health. Instead, I kited him with a bow and took shots at his face. That seemed to do the trick. I do like games that encourage alternative playstyles, but rather than make me feel like Legolas I felt like I had cheated when the following cutscene showed Henry beating up the boss with his sword.

Overall, this game isn't worth the 60 bucks gameplay wise. The story is fairly interesting, so if you think you'd like it watch a playthrough of it on youtube. I'd personally reccomend Hybrid Panda's playthrough which is on-going and extremely entertaining.

It's an entirely unique game. It can be really fun, and it can also be super frustrating. Some characters are extremely powerful/annoying when compared to others. Bash feint mixups and bash based offenses really grind my gears. The dominion mode can have amazing moments that you can't find anywhere else. When you're the last man standing, and it's all up to you, the empowerment from that is visceral. It's super difficult to break bad habits, but it is very rewarding to improve at the game. If you are thinking of purchasing it, watch plenty of gameplay and wait until you are certain that you'll enjoy it for a long time.
