one of the best games I've ever played.

a real shame it seems like most people don't even know about the second half of it.

This game, in the state that it currently is in, is the most immersive game I have ever played, bar none.

I don't know why specifically, but this game just clicks with me.

I've done several playthroughs at this point, with another ~150 hours on console as well. Every single time, I discover new details, new options, new characters, new items, new lore, new paths through scenarios, new locations, new dialogue, on and on.

The one caveat I have to give, is that this game is very tempting to play like a looter-shooter. And sure, it is a lot of fun to do that, as the combat is excellent and the abilities are a blast. But I have found that getting into the roleplaying aspect of this game takes it SO far beyond that experience.

Cyberpunk makes it extremely easy to get completely lost in the world, events, and your character, and I highly encourage you to do so for, in my opinion, the best experience of this game. Shorter playthroughs where you don't do EVERY sidequest and only choose the ones your version of V would actually accept not only help the pacing of the game, but also allow for a totally different experience on subsequent playthroughs.

It is hard to condense everything there is to say into a short review, but I will suffice to say that if you even vaguely enjoy any open world games, the cyberpunk genre, first person shooters, immersive worlds, or story driven content, this game will blow your mind. If it's not your flavor, hey, it's not for everyone. But if you're still on board by the end of the first act, you gooooottaa buy the DLC. It is 100% worth the price, even without a sale.

There have been many times that I've sat and watched the credits roll after a great game. That bittersweet feeling of the conclusion to a fantastic campaign as the names scroll up for a few minutes, and I get to think about the highlights of the game before I go on with my day. Maybe a couple chills down the spine, maybe a tear or two for a heartbreaker ending, maybe a pop-off for beating the toughest difficulty. But this game is the first time I've ever had to just sit in a stupor and reflect on my life for literal hours, long past when the credits stopped rolling.

Cyberpunk 2077 has done that to me 3 times now.

I'm still practicing in 1v1s so eventually I can be good enough to play the main game.

Halo + Portal 2. Classic arena shooter with huge tactics thrown in. Portals allow crazy angles and all sorts of strategies you won't find in any other game.
