I'm so full of war crimes yum

This is one of my favorite games of all time. It has helped me deepen friendships and relax during difficult times, but as of 2024 I cannot in good conscience recommend Payday 2. This game has hundreds of hours of amazing content, fun build crafting, an amazing community, and a massively dedicated fan base the issue however comes from the devs themselves. Since Payday 3 was released Payday 2 has been plagued by problems: performance tanking at random times, the game flat out crashing in parties of 2 or more with no crash logs, access to content and unlocks being randomly removed when the game starts up, progress being wiped with no way of regaining it, the game needing to have a line of code put into it to let it actually open, and these are just the tip of the ice burg. Payday 2 is a game the relies on mods to work properly in 2024 but for a growing portion of the community mods are becoming unusable as they too brick the game. I hope that I will be able to eat my words one day and delete this review but as of May of 2024 these problems have ruined my Payday experience and have made me lose faith in Starbreeze and the Payday team.

Got dropped onto what I could only describe as Detroit in the winter, proceeded to repair a ship and establish "The Pimp Shack" now I'm trying to find God. 9.5/10
