I wrote this review under an influence of a substance that might or might not be commonly know as weed. I intended to write it for a script of a YouTube video but then I realized I couldn’t be bother so I decided to share it here instead.

If you developer guys happen to see this review, maybe consider adding a mode with some metal music. This game is too cool to be this whiny.

I refunded a game called “Laika: Aged Through Blood”

The game whose gameplay in the trailer looks like… this.

Yes. Yes I did.

And it’s because I hate it. It’s so whiny neeni neeni to the point that the great game play I saw in the trailer was not enough to convince me to go on.

I think we understand each other you and I when we say ‘This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome’ and that gameplay was “♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome”.

But the overall atmosphere of the game is melancholic to the point of whiny. Life has no way to go on. Nothing to live for. There’s no hope. Oh my god why wouldn’t I just kill myself (insert splash accident death with sound effect).

Look. The gameplay is so cool when it presents a reaction based puzzles where you need to maneuver the bike in certain way to manage your weapon reload and bullet reflection ability while you try to kill the enemy soldiers along the way and the boss at the end of the stage. And you know what you are? You are a mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fox on a bike. You’re riding and jumping, flipping, firing, sharp turning and dying with unlimited life. You die? You come back again. Let’s try again, shall we? Let’s Go!

But instead of that, we are treated with extremely sad and hopeless music that just spoils the great gameplay.

The gameplay is so fun and I bet you would agree with me when I say this (show gameplay with exciting rock music for bike game – AI generated)

Is better than
This
(Show footage with original soundtrack)

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damn shame, isn’t it?

TLDR version; If you like graphic adventure games with puzzles and gripping stories and don't really mind the cheesiness and the melodramatic nature of B grade soap operas, this games will give you a time of your life.

Full review :

Oh my lord, where do I start? I have to say that I have been playing this series since almost 10 years ago on a Nintendo DS. I have already completed the games bundled through and through and still pretty much enjoy the HD experience I get from this version.

You will be playing as Phoenix Wright(yes, that spiky hair meme guy who shouted 'OBJECTION' from the top of his lungs that you might have seen several years earlier), a rookie defend attorney defending innocent people, and sometimes himself, from the murder they didn't commit through various means.

The game play can be broken down to;

- The opening, you'll see the cut scene acting as a prologue to the case you're working on with sufficient info and enough thrill to forcefully have you emotionally invested. And don't worry. Because the plots always develop in a way that they become so thick and heart-gripping you will enjoy long after the game is finished.
- You talk to people and gather evidences from the scene of the crimes and other places you may have to visit.
- With enough info, you will have to go into the court to try you best defending your cases by cross-examining the witness testimonies, exposing their lies, both intentional and unintentional ones and seal the real culprits' fates.

*****RINSE AND REPEAT*****
If you think you are not some one who likes what I just explained earlier, chances are you wont be able to go through 10-20 hours of its entirety and die of boredom before you can feel this game worth your money.

You do all of the above in point & click adventure style. Not much of an action, I dare say but superbly thrilling I might add.

The highlight of the game besides its superb story-telling and great melodramatic plots, of course, lies in the court sections. This is where you get to shout 'HOLD IT' to press harder for more detailed testimonies, 'TAKE THAT!' when you present an evident that contradicts their statements and 'OBJECTION!' when you are about to expose their lies. But always have your wits with you because every steps in a wrong direction can and will be penalized and once the judge has it enough, the game is over.

You will need to be very cautious, quite observant and should be mindful of the resources you have at hands. You see, the court section acts as a 'puzzle(?) solving' section that the game presents to you a set of statements and you find 'lies' hidden within. The game will hold your hands no longer after the first 2 trials and will become more and more difficult each case you go through. This game is hard and I mean hard in a sense that more often than not you will need to connects invisible dots by yourself outside what the game immediately offers to you. But man, when you finally catch and expose those lies and Phoenix shouts 'OBJECTION', that will be one of the most satisfying moments in all of your gaming experiences.

As I mentioned earlier, you see the game here is driven by its narrative and relies hugely on the level of its audience emotional investment. The game is super linear(please keep in mind that it is almost 20 years old) in a way that you need to do 'A' so that 'B' can happen or you have to do 'C' in order to proceed to the next section. So if you are not interested in what stories it is trying to tell you and play it for just the gameplay, it will be a massive let down. But if you do, this will become one of the most favourite franchises in your whole life.

To summarise;

- Great stories
- Satisfying puzzles(?) solving
- Minimalist gameplay(improved in part 2 and 3) and repetitive core gameplay loop

A solid 7.5/10 experience.

I swear if this add a function where you can shout key phases like 'Hold it' and 'OBJECTION' instead of button press just like the Nintendo DS version, this game will be an easy 10/10. Haha.

==========WARNING=============
This review is long. TLDR version is "It's awesome and accessible. Likeable and will be satisfying for both newcomers and pros alike"

Ok, Here we go.

I have to say that I was not at all a Megaman fan/player. I mean. I grew up during the boom of X series. I have heard and I have seen my older cousins got teir asses kicked playing classic series. But I never actually enjoyed plaing it myself. Why? Because it was frantically tough! That's why! And when the time passed. Video games evolved. As things got flashier, edgier and more complex, the blue hero started to fade out from my memory and it never really piqued any of my imterests at all despite several attempts to emulate it and play it on my PC. Same goes for X series.

But this changes everything! This is the first time I really enjoyed playing Megaman. I don't feel like a dumbass dying to bosses or failing to jump onto platforms. This game is amazingly accesscible for an adult me with a full-time job who gets to play games only on weekends.

Here's why;

-Nice, clean and beautiful 2.5D style graphics! Superbly megaman!

I mean, I like the old 8 bit looks but i think we can agree that it is time for an upgrade. And I have to say that this conversion from 2D to 3D or 2.5D is amazing. It really captures the essence of Megaman in a way that it's not too bland despite generous amount of flat colors used. The character designs are so great that the basic coloration and lighting bacome complimentary to the overall visual. As I said, It's very clean looking which I think a lot of fans and newcomers can appreciate.

-The difficulty options in abundant! You can now choose your poison!

I am not sure about the "new" new ones like 7-9 but from my memories when I was younger, 1-6 got nothing. You started the game. You kumped right into the actions. The somewhat difficulty choices might be the boss order that you go through because some are vulnerable to the weapons you get from the other bosses and if ou figure out where to start and where to go next, things might be slightly forgiving for you. I said slightly because the enemies along the way until boss battle will plough you hard no matter what.

As for this iteration, you get to choose before you start the game which difficulties you want. You want easy? Go get it! You're a masochist? Who am I to judge? You can choose whatever you want which will affect the damage you take during the stages and also in boss fights.

-In game Shops! You get an item! You get item! Everyone gets an item!

During the game, you collect bolts(?) which act as in-game currency for you to buy stuffs. And the stuffs are so damn good! Bored of sliding uncontrollably on ice platform? Here's a pair of spike boots! Running out of weapons power constantly? Here's weapon power tanks! Died from spikes much? Here's a save for dummies from spikes! and so much more that you can buy to make it easier or more accessible for you. I understand that the hardcore fans will be like "Heck! This is an insult! We don't need this at all! It's a disgrace". But hey! it's all optional. While it's there and the newbies like myself can buy some to alter our first time experiencing the game to suit our needs, the hardcore playing can totally avoid them all and play with none of theses upgrades or items with NO PENALTIES AT ALL FROM THE GAME DESIGN PERSPECTIVE.

-New element in gameplay with double gears system!

Ok. We all know by now that the game comes with double gears system. It's nice. I wouldn't say that it's something that will blow your mind but it can and will spice things up for you. To sum it up, Megaman now has 2 gear modes to activate at any given time. The power gear and the speed gear perform like the name suggests, one gives you attack boost and the other the speed. The stage was designed with this system in mind and you will be wise to utilise it. However, from my playthough, if your good enough, you don't really need them. The fact that it's there but quite optional makes me appreciate it a little bit more, to be honest. I mean, It means they're not forcing this down your throats which will definitely be frustrating for the old fans.

The game is still the same. It still follows the same formula of 8 master robots gone rogue. Megaman is the only one to stop them and save the world from doctor Wily. You jump in. You fight 8 bosses. You go through Wily fortresses, fight extra bosses, go through boss rush and kick Wily's behind. Then the game ends. Credits roll.

And that's that! It is new. It is exciting. It is highly accessible. I won't talk about the challenge mode or extra modes because those are not for me and it is very likely that I will not play them at all. But for those of you who looks for extra value out this game, I heard that you won't be disappointed.

For 30 USD or your regional equivalent, if you like what you read and you like what you see in the trailer, buy it. Can't really go wrong with this one!

*****I put this under 'not recommend' for a reason so please read!*****

Played this for 3 hours but I feel like I have ample knowledge about the game to review it. So here we go.

Hello, you! Houd's here. Writing review for you and you only!

Do you like 8-bit style platformer? Are you at least 25 years old and use to play NES? Do you understand the principles of old NES platformers and are willing to endure the difficulties? If yes, then buy it!

But if the answers to all those question are not 100% yes, read what I have to say.

First of all, this game is a remake of "Ducktales" released for Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1989. The original was,and still is for a lot of people, a rock-solid platformer and a pinnacle of the genre. The control was tight. The level design was creative and the gameplay itself was amazingly fun!

Knowing all of those, The remaster version has a lot to live up to. And does it? In my opinion, It does!

The art style of this game has been remade from the ground up. The game is now 2.5D, as a lot of people would describe it. The backgrounds are rendered in 3D but the characters are in 2D hand-drawn style that look like they are ripped away from the show and placed in side of the game directly. This makes the game look marvelously pleasing regarding to the character "sprites" even though a bit dull in background dapartment.

The voice acting was amazing since it sounds exactly how I remember it from my childhood, that's highly subjective since it might be purely nostalgic. What I was trying to say is that it's high quality stuff they have here. The voice acting convinced me throughout my time playing it that this is authentic! This is "Duacktales".

The control, this time around, played with 360 controller is a lille bit on the bad side. You have to understand this. This game seems to rip the control scheme from the original NES game with very little modification and that is, by itself, a little bit problematic, at least in my opinion. You see? The 360 controller is not the right controller for such game! The NES original was design with NES controller in mind and NES controller itself was design for 2D games. Thus they work perfectly with each other. But the 360 controller was made for 3D games in mind. The result for that was comfortable grip, nice analog stick, great triggers but awful D-pad. And you kinda have to use D-pad to play these kind of platformers since using analog stick is just plain weird, but again it might just be only me. The reason why its wierd for me is that when I use analog stick to control Uncle Scrooge, it feels a bit imprecise, a bit floaty and a bit off. And because of that, it frustrates me a lot bc of the next thing I'm going to talk about. But even all those flaws I mentioned above, the control is by no mean 'bad' or anything like that. It is still satisfying and fun to control nontheless when it does work right. The blame is on the controller itself that the D-pad sucks.

The difficulties... Oh the difficulties... Those who grew up with NES know that NES games back then was made to be hard and punishing on purpose. Many controllers were broken from all the moments we felt like we need to vent out the anger because of that annoying mothertrucker enemy spawning at that exact moment when we could only be hit one time before we have to replay the whole level, that gap we couldn't figure out how to cross or that boss who seemed to be invincible even though we tried the hardest to beat. We loved those games growing up despite all controllers we lost. We walked pass them. We forgive those difficulties and chose to cherish all the good memories we had finishing the games. Well, truck you, because this game will bring back those memories! That's all I'm gonna say. I let you taste it yourself. And believe me... no nostalgia goggles can save you from those horrific controller-breaking memories you are going to relive within the game. Oh! btw, this game, as most of the old games from the era were, has no real check-point system within the game. You might get some if you can match the objectives within the stages. But if you use up all your lives no matter how far you are in the level even in the boss room, you have to replay the stage. No argue. That's how this game rolls.

And... i suppose that's all you should know about this game. Great platformer from the past being remastered very splendidly. Amazing game if you can take the punishments and are willing to spend your time practicing your skills just to finish the game, not complete it mind you. This is definitely not a casual game by my standard and I shall not recommend you so. This is why i do not put this under recommend section because a lot of people buy the games from the 'thumbs up' the game received only without reading anything the reviewers have to say about them. Sure, you can pick it up and play it for a while. But if you're not good enough, you're not going to progress at all. And by'at all' I mean 'AT ALL'.

Buy it if this review does not scare the poop out of you. Get it while it's on sale if you want to try it out. And be sure to take this game seriously bc otherwise, it is going to kick you butt real hard.

OK, Here's my review of Remember me.

Greetings, you snobs! Hound's here. Writing for you and you only!

This game, Remember me is indeed a good game. And I'm here to tell you why. Remember me is a game set in Paris, Neo Paris, where a technology of editing memories has become a thing. In this world 'Sensen', I know what an idiotic name, is the company taking charge in this trade and in turn has become a big power in the city. The concept of memory remix, as it's called in the game, can either erase your memory, twist it or tinkling with it however you like. Those without the memory will become 'Leapers', hollow shells once human now a disfigured creatures with mind full of hostility live in the underground part of the city waiting for the Armageddon.

You are playing as Nilin, a specialized memory DJ(get it? because DJs do remix songs and she can remix memory. Get it?) call Errorist who can twist other's memory to the point that they got so emotionally effected that they killed themselves. She was captured and was about to be 'erased' by a certain doctor working for aforementioned corp. She was helped my a mysterious man named 'Edge' and together they set out to fight against Sensen and bring the end to all memory remix bull's load business.

So... That's the plot. It isn't anything special, quite mediocre regarding to the story presentation, to tell you the truth. The story has its moments from time to time especially towards the end but that's it. What really astounds me is the graphic or rather the art style they chose. The world is vibrant with colors. Bright orange, green, red, blue... they're everywhere. The details put into the world are quite mind boggling. You can just stop doing everything and look at the robot servants sweeping the floor and it will please you. The game is that beautiful. You'll want to come back and play it even though you got bored to tears by the story and the combat system. The city of Neo Paris in the game consists of a lot of areas, the prison, hospital, town square, arena like thingy, creepy underground and lots of alley ways. All are detailed to the finest despite the quality of some textures and are definite feasts for your eyes.

But let's talk about the gameplay and combat, Shall we? The gameplay in this game is 3rd person beat'em up game, I suppose, with elements of parkour platforming every now and again and also a dash of puzzle solving to a certain degree. You are going to climb a lot, fight a lot and sometimes solve puzzles that come your way in various forms.

The parkour part is quite generic. There is absolutely no 'WOW' or 'OMG' moment in the game that really excites you during the time you traverse the locations in this game. There is absolutely nothing new or things that you've never seen from other games that have parkour in them. So, a little bit disappointing I'd say.

The combat in this game is a kind of thing that you either hate it or... 'meh' to it. It wasn't that bad if you're really open to it. Interesting concept it brings actually. But the execution is a little bit dull. In this game you fight with the enemy using 'Combo' system. You gradually unlock new moves and compose them into different strings of moves call, unsurprisingly, Combo. These moves that you unlock are actually a collections of Xs and Ys divided into 4 category of moves, healing moves, guard breaking moves, timer reducing moves and special attack gauge building moves. All function as the names suggest. Heal you, break opponents' guard, reduce timer for your special moves and build up the gauge the allows you to use those special moves.

There are 4-5 preset combo lines, I don't really remember, for you which you can't really change anything just choose which Xs and Ys from your desired category to define what effect of that line of combo will be in the end. You can create a combo line that will heal you only and do petty damage or a line that hits the opponent really hard and does absolutely nothing else. All are according to your preferences.

The combat in this game get repetitive as all the other people say. But for me, I think the idea behind it is quite interesting. From what I describe to you, those whose heads are really that deep in their asses would notice that it was intended to be tactical. You are to create tactical combo lines that help you according to the situation you are facing. For the example, You might be fighting with an enemy you can't touch and need to stun them with your special attack before hitting it. The problem is that your special move that stun your enemy has a really, and I mean really, long ass cooldown. What are you going to do? Wait for it? No. You are going to use your combo to reduce your cooldown timer to zero as fast as possible, of course. That's, I believe, is the heart of this combat system. But as I said before, the execution is quite dull and results in people hating it(let alone the fact that the control is quite clunky at times.)

The puzzles, on the other hand, are quite good. In this game, there are a lot of puzzles you'll need to crack. Form how to avoid the drones that will kill you instantly if you happen to be within its radar radius, to the puzzling poems you need to figure out for the correct password to some certain doors. The biggest puzzle sections would be the memory remix itself. There are some moment in the story that you'll need to remix someone's memory to your benefit. You'll need to watch the whole memory play try fiddling with highlight objects in it and wait to see the result. Some objects you manipulate might do absolutely nothing, some will make things go wrong drastically which is called the memory glitches and some will do the job just right. It quite interesting and exciting to fiddle with it. You can try again and again until succeed but you'll have to rewind it quite a lot if you get it wrong.

And right now, you might ask yourself 'Should I get this game then?' Unfortunately, I can't give you a straight answer(but for the sake of the review on steam I will select 'yes' for recommendation of the game.) I would have to ask you that 'Do you have 6-8 hours of your life to go through the game that is quite dull but filled to the brim with beauty and impressive visuals and decent puzzles?' 'Are you willing to forgive clunky control at times?' 'Will you intentionally lower your expectation a bit and enjoy it for what it is?' If the answers fir those questions are 'Yes', then go on. Buy it. Enjoy it. Have a good time with it.

Remember me for me, is a decent game which I feel that it might have been planned to be something special in the beginning, something grand but somehow was scrapped, cut short or terminated for some unknown reasons. I can sense the potentials behind its ideas and I can feel enthusiasm lies hidden within it. I can see the determination, hard work and devotion that the developers put in it. And it has to be really heartbreaking that their game came out just only decent and being underappreciated by a lot of people.

Anyway, That'll be all I'll have to say about this game. If you like my review click a like button on it. If you find it useless then the unlike button is there a reason. Hit it if you feel like you need to. Thank you for reading to the end. I'll see you guys next time when I decide to write reviews for some other games! Bye bye, beagles.

Really? You need reviews for such epic game like this one? Just do yourself a favor by buying it and play the hell out of it, alright?

...
...
...

OK. Fine. If you really want it, here it is.

XCOM: Enemy Unknow is a turn-based strategy game where you fight the aliens from outer space. The game present to you the story in just the way that you will know the basic of what is going on quite loosely and have you fulfilled the rest of the story yourself through your campaign.

The story is just as I mentioned before. The aliens come out of nowhere, kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of us. We(the nations) form the special operation called XCOM to fight back. And you happend to be its commander.

So your job is to lead the squad of four soldiers(which can be expanded into 6 at maximum in most difficulties) to the battle fields. Fight the aliens through turn-based strategy system which, as you can imagine, you move your sqaud and they move theirs. You have to try exploiting the territory by the cover system, flank system and ♥♥♥♥ tons of depth in gameplay you'll experience in game.

Your squad then will grow or gain ranks. And through ranks comes abilities which will help you in your quest. The abilities comes in two branches which you can choose which one you want your soldier to be.

Your soldiers start off as the rookies and then will be determined/assigned classes randomly. The classes consist of 4 different classes which are 'assault','sniper','heavy' and 'support'. Each class has its own good side and bad side which you can and must exploit it to full use especially in the harer campaign.

The Assault, as the name suggests, do assault. The Assault specializes in close-range combat. They can run&gun, have high rate of critical in close-range and can dodge reaction fire with lightning reflex skill and else. But again, they are still but human not a tank and this game is nothing but XCOM. So don't try have him or her go on ramboing through hordes of aliens because inevitably they will end up being corpses.

The Sniper, again as the name suggests, specializes in long-range combat. They have high accuracy in long-range but poor in close-range due to the distant penalty. You can place them really far behind the front line(as long as the sight is not covered) and still have them shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who really annoys the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. All that is possible due to the ability you gain when your rank climbs up. This unit will be a crucial unit in your team since they can get you out of tigh situations if being used wisely. And yes, the sniper is very vulnerable so tacke good care of him.

The Heavy specializes in heavy weapon and rocket firing. They do deal a lot of damage but have the lowest accuracy of all. This unit is again very useful if being used wisely. The rocket can be exploited the way you might never imagine so keep your eyes peeled.

The Support is the most crucial class of all. Why? Because they can travel the furthest, have the highest accuracy of all(but sniper), can smoke up your team either to cover their flank or psych them up and hell, they carry medkits and can revive your critically wounded unit. Isn't that awesome! They are awesome in these ways but yet also they can't win the battle for you alone. The bottom line is that you always have the support in your team no matter what.

And moreover than that, you can craft the robot to fight along you. You will eventually have your team use psionic power or become mech soldiers to help you fight the aliens.

The aliens also come in various forms. There are the lowest rank Sectoid to the Highest rank Ethereal. They can kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of you and they will do just like that.

Aside of the combat, You will do the researches on technologies and build facilities. You will receive monthly expense to spend on the researches and facilities. You will expand your base deep down underground and try to balance the panic level around the world and not to have the nations abandoned the project.

The campaing is around 15-20 hours long(for me) but you can definitely make it longer or shorter depending on your skills in combating and base management.

And that seems to wrap up all the basics you need to know to be convinced enough to buy this game.

So please, Do yourself a favor and click that little purchase button and enjoy the hell out of XCOM: Enemy unknown!
