OK. Fine. If you really want it, here it is.

XCOM: Enemy Unknow is a turn-based strategy game where you fight the aliens from outer space. The game present to you the story in just the way that you will know the basic of what is going on quite loosely and have you fulfilled the rest of the story yourself through your campaign.

The story is just as I mentioned before. The aliens come out of nowhere, kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of us. We(the nations) form the special operation called XCOM to fight back. And you happend to be its commander.

So your job is to lead the squad of four soldiers(which can be expanded into 6 at maximum in most difficulties) to the battle fields. Fight the aliens through turn-based strategy system which, as you can imagine, you move your sqaud and they move theirs. You have to try exploiting the territory by the cover system, flank system and ♥♥♥♥ tons of depth in gameplay you'll experience in game.

Your squad then will grow or gain ranks. And through ranks comes abilities which will help you in your quest. The abilities comes in two branches which you can choose which one you want your soldier to be.

Your soldiers start off as the rookies and then will be determined/assigned classes randomly. The classes consist of 4 different classes which are 'assault','sniper','heavy' and 'support'. Each class has its own good side and bad side which you can and must exploit it to full use especially in the harer campaign.

The Assault, as the name suggests, do assault. The Assault specializes in close-range combat. They can run&gun, have high rate of critical in close-range and can dodge reaction fire with lightning reflex skill and else. But again, they are still but human not a tank and this game is nothing but XCOM. So don't try have him or her go on ramboing through hordes of aliens because inevitably they will end up being corpses.

The Sniper, again as the name suggests, specializes in long-range combat. They have high accuracy in long-range but poor in close-range due to the distant penalty. You can place them really far behind the front line(as long as the sight is not covered) and still have them shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who really annoys the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. All that is possible due to the ability you gain when your rank climbs up. This unit will be a crucial unit in your team since they can get you out of tigh situations if being used wisely. And yes, the sniper is very vulnerable so tacke good care of him.

The Heavy specializes in heavy weapon and rocket firing. They do deal a lot of damage but have the lowest accuracy of all. This unit is again very useful if being used wisely. The rocket can be exploited the way you might never imagine so keep your eyes peeled.

The Support is the most crucial class of all. Why? Because they can travel the furthest, have the highest accuracy of all(but sniper), can smoke up your team either to cover their flank or psych them up and hell, they carry medkits and can revive your critically wounded unit. Isn't that awesome! They are awesome in these ways but yet also they can't win the battle for you alone. The bottom line is that you always have the support in your team no matter what.

And moreover than that, you can craft the robot to fight along you. You will eventually have your team use psionic power or become mech soldiers to help you fight the aliens.

The aliens also come in various forms. There are the lowest rank Sectoid to the Highest rank Ethereal. They can kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of you and they will do just like that.

Aside of the combat, You will do the researches on technologies and build facilities. You will receive monthly expense to spend on the researches and facilities. You will expand your base deep down underground and try to balance the panic level around the world and not to have the nations abandoned the project.

The campaing is around 15-20 hours long(for me) but you can definitely make it longer or shorter depending on your skills in combating and base management.

And that seems to wrap up all the basics you need to know to be convinced enough to buy this game.

So please, Do yourself a favor and click that little purchase button and enjoy the hell out of XCOM: Enemy unknown!
