Early Access Review
It looks like a great game, but I didn't actually get to find out because after around 15 attempts to get it past the loading screens without crashing, I reluctantly decided that to continue trying was more pointless than hitting myself in the face with a breeze-block, and I have requested, and been given a refund. There was a message that continually popped up onscreen after each crash, which somewhat irritatingly said 'Oooops, game crashed', and went on to advise me to 'fix' this problem by looking on forums etc, or sending an email to the developers containing a copy of various files in regard to the crash. Fair enough, some people might be quite happy, or at least willing to go down this tedious path, but personally, I am not one of them, although I AM quite happy to explain why - because I am not a software engineer, nor do I wish to enrol myself on a crash course at some kind of Nerd College in order to better understand screen after screen of boring data files just to make one game work properly! I am just a bloke who likes playing console and pc games, and while I do know my way around computers up to a reasonable standard, when I pay nearly £17 for something, I expect to receive a fully working product, and certainly not something that I basically have to put together myself from faulty components!! I have been a pretty (some would say not so pretty) avid gamer since around the mid 1980's, and not since the squeaking, whistling cassette games that we loaded via a Sinclair Spectrum have I felt the kind of almost nervous annoyance of sitting in front of a screen, all but actually praying that a new game will load up properly first time out of it's box, or at least eventually - until today that is, while trying to load this one!! I don't particularly enjoy thumbing a game down, but on this occasion, there was literally nothing to recommend! I liked the previous Door Kickers game, and I wish you all luck in getting this sequel up and running without the kind of complications which I truly cannot be a***d with - I just don't have that kind of patience! :D

@greatcat I play DK1 since 2013 and I am a volunteer moderator for DK1 and DK2. Some dozens of users in all these years experienced some crashes. But as I said, usually they are solved in a couple of tentatives or less. In both of communities there is a dedicated thread for the support: https://steamproxy.net/app/1239080/discussions/0/3005551013329619473/

Easier cases are solved by the Community. Complex cases by Devs.

@axios2006 - It's been a few months since I played DK1, but I don't think that one actually did crash as far as I recall. I was going to mention a couple of other games to you, but I'll put my question in an inbox message if such a thing exists on here!?? :D I don't reckon that it would be the coolest of ideas to ask about games from a different company/developer on a hub meant for Door Kickers 2 eh!! :D Have a good day mate

@greatcat expecially in these not easy times, often we take decisions in a very small amount of time.

Statistically speaking, most of the crashes in DK2 and also in DK1 are temporary problems with a specific driver version, a conflict with some audio device... Nothing particularly complex.

Hoping that maybe in a future time you may decide to give another opportunity to DK2 and I write this only because you wroted that liked DK1.

Have a nice and safe day. :)

cat - That's a good point! Maybe at some stage, various updates will prevent these crashes with a bit of luck eh :)

Hi axios2006 - You know what? I did think about contacting the devs, but regrettably not until some time after I'd already contacted steam for a refund! :steamfacepalm: I kinda wish that I had thought of it earlier now as this game had been at, or very near to the top of my wishlist since around November last year I guess - and so I think that I was most likely far too distracted and preoccupied by disappointment, followed by RAGE to have been thinking clearly enough! Ha ha :) With further useless hindsight, it has also occurred to me since, that there are most probably countless people on this community hub itself who could have helped me sort it out! :D I'll possibly buy the game again at some point I reckon, and hopefully get it sorted then - take care dude, and thanks for your comment :)

keep in mind the "early access" part

Hi, just a personal suggestion. After the second / third crash, maybe better to write a line or two in the Support board and Devs would have helped you. Statistically speaking, with a single log txt uploaded, the problem is found and fixed. No software engineer skills required. Just a copy and paste.

Oh damn, that is just sad

Collectible Taco - Yes mate, I verified the files with 100% validation after the game crashed for the second, or third time I think, but to no avail unfortunately :steamsad:
