I'll be brief - Path Of Exile is the best free-to-play online RPG game presently aviable. It does all the good things Diablo 2 had right but even better.

Graphically speaking it's one of the most beautiful and for a free-to-play game it's not that common.

Gameplay is the best PROS : it's fun, fairly challenging(specially in Harcore League), the game don't give the player too much power at the begining but the quet reward are really worth it. The currency system can be confusing at first because it's not money, it's using items to exange for goods, weapons, armors, gems and more. Also the gem systen is really reminding me of the materia system of Final Fantasy 7 because each class can use all the gems but the aviability and the "when" a class has access to some gems varies from class to class. It allow a very good flexibility in the costumization of a character.

For example you can chose a "Shadow" and you can equip gems that are usually considered to be spells for the sorceress.

Also all characters can dual-wield one-handed weapons

It will take too long to list every good point this game has but i can tell you that i really recommend it - if you like games like Diablo 2 you will love this game.

Downsides??? Some classes are owerpowered compared the other classes and it's even more apparent in the Hardcore League - which is the league that doesn't give any room for tactical error. It's not super hard but players who tend to attack gun-blazing without planning a strategy will end-up dead against even early bosses. Mixing the right gems and using the right weapon is a key - you don't go fight a boss with only a bow or a knife.

Anyways it's a must-play game to my opinion - it's fun, it's challenging without being unfair for beginners, the xp rate is good and completing quests is rewarding.

For once i'll be brief because there is not much to say about this game except that it's AMAZING!!!!

Pro :

- The ability to customize ALL stats of each characters ANYTIME(except during battles of course)
- The easy progression due to the fact that skills and spells are sold in shops and not learned at pre-determined levels
- The "Save Crystal" not only save the game but also heals up all characters making grinding less painful
- Awesome custom musics
- Built-in tutorial making the understanding of the game easier for rookie RPG players
- The game is FREE !!

Cons :

- The absense of enemies on the World Map(not a real flaw, just a personal preference)
- The color of the menu background, text windows and battle background can't be changed
- The impossibility to play in window mode(for me it's a problem because on fullscreen the game tends to crash - it's not due to the game itself, it's my old GPU that is at fault because most of my games crash while fullscreen and are perfectly fine while windowed)

That's all. Personally if i was the author of this game i would ask for some money in return because there is obviously a lot of work in this game and how many games are amazing and free at the same time? Not much. Heck most modern games ask full price for a minimum content.

Conclusion :

I highly recommend this game, if you like RPGs this one is for you. Not to mention it's a free game so why not try it :D

I'll try to be brief. I just bought FFX/X-2 and i must say i'm impressed. For once Square-Enix really gave us a REAL pc port instead of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ portable port version.

RECOMMENDED FOR ALL FF FANS

Now the analysis.

Pros :

- Improved graphics
- Improved soundtracks
- Improved Interface
- Includes FFX An Eternal Calm and FFX-2 Last Mission
- Built-in cheats for those who know the game and just want to enjoy beating the crap of the creatures in the Monster's Arena
- Good overall uptimization (i'm running it at 1680x1050 on a crappy Dell Core2Duo 3.16 with 4G ram and 2G GPU and it's running great)
- Good controller support( at least for me - i'm using an old PS2 controller plugged on a USB adaptor and it's working perfectly)
- Plenty of options for audio, video and key binding config for both the keyboard and controller
- Port based on the international version meaning it includes the Dark Aeons quest and the "Expert Sphere Grid"

Cons:

- The extremely long download time
- Voices sometimes are not sync with the image

Conclusion:

Did i recommend this port? Of course !!!! I'd be a fool not to recommend it. It's a must have for all Final Fantasy fans.

OK guys, girls and other creatures of the universe here is my humble review of Final Fantasy 6 Steam version on PC.

Recommended : YES ... but ...

First let me list the goods and the bads

GOOD :

1 - Nice graphics - i know some of you guys wanted a more "HD" type of remake and for you the graphics are ugly but for me they are fine. Not extremely good but far from being ugly.

2 - Good battle interface - a bit too big but at least it's well-designed and functional.

3 - Story of the game is intact

4 - Good sounds and musics.

BADS :

1 - No real gamepad support dispise the fact that it's labeled as "full controler support". Basically the game can't recognize most gampads natively and if you use a program like x360ce to compensate the game will crash everytime you press a button.

2 - Really limited control with the keyboard - it shows mostly in battle when using Sabin's blitzs

3 - Sabin's Blitzs are EXTREMELY hard to execute because most of them are performed with multi-directional arrow inputs like the Phoenix Dance which is in short a complete half circle from left to right including 2 diagonal inputs, which is almost impossible to do without a controler.

4 - Random lost of saved games - This one could be more related to Steam Cloud and not the game itself so stay on the safe side, disable the Steam Cloud before playing.

5 - Even if i like the graphics the gameplay looks a bit too zoomed-in and it can make some players feel clostrophobic.

6 - The price is too high compared to the efforts SE put into this port.

7 - There is many other bugs i haven't encountered yet because they are at specific locations and i'm not there yet but if you read other reviews you will see there is some problematic locations.

Now my opinion :

It's not a really bad port (FF4 was way worst than this) but it's not the best SE could have done if they had put a minimal effort - which is not their forte when it comes to their old classics. It feels really like a rushed port and it shows a lot. So far i have ± 3 hours of play and it's not giving me too much troubles when it's not crashing. There is many things Square-Enix has to fix before considering this one to be a worthy port of the most epic FF of all time to my opinion.

Conclusion :

Should you buy this FF 6 port? Yes and No

YES : if you don't mind playing with your keyboard only and if you don't care about the bugs and you just want to play that game again

No : if you want to play a bug-free game with full controler support.

So to conclude i'd say that even if it's not a bad port i'd recommend buying it only after Square-Enix solves at least the controler support and the saved data vanishing.
