Arma 3 takes place in 2035 where the location is predominately set on the Republic of Altis and Stratis, islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Playing as the protagonist Corporal Ben Kerry, you group up with remaining NATO and CTRG forces on Stratis, following a crushing surprise attack on NATO forces by the AAF. Unfortunetly Kerry's squad lead and lead figure, Sergeant Thomas Adams, was killed in combat attempting to escape with Kerry from the AAF. Cause of death, landmine. Under the leadership of Captain Scott Miller, a CTRG squad leader hiding under the guise of a british SOF, the remenant NATO forces attempt to escape Stratis to the neighboring island Altis. Washing ashore Kerry and Miller have to cooperate with the local militia forces, FIA, to fight the AAF and CSAT in an attempt to contact NATO MEDCOM.
