Pop and Chicks is a short and sweet puzzle experience with 40 stages in total. Overall I didn't find the puzzles too difficult to complete but I did have to use the restart option a couple of times here and there because of an incorrect move made. The only stage that gave me a bit of trouble was stage 37 due to one of the chicks being a bit tough for me to see due to the placement of the chick in question and a barrel.

I got the game on sale for $0.99 and I feel it was worth it as I had fun playing Pop and finding all the chicks within the limited number of moves I had to do so. This title also feels like it would be a good option to give to younger gamers as a first exposure to puzzle type games and that may have been the target audience, but I love chickens and have been in a puzzle mood lately so it was a win for me as well.

I hope the developers will either add more levels as an update or make a Pop and Chicks 2 with more levels because by the time I finished level 40 I was wanting for more and could have easily keep on going. With how quick and fun the game can be it might actually be a good game for speedrunning if that is something you are into.

Overall I would say Pop and Chicks is worth it if you want a quick, fun and cute puzzle game to enjoy or introduce young gamers to puzzle type games.

P.S. Thanks developers for making me want to go and play the game Flicky again.

When I first saw the demo for ChronoBabes I didn't expect much being it was a match 3 game with nudity in it. Upon completing the demo I realized that my initial outlook on the game was wrong and had way more fun than I thought I would and had to buy the game and play the full experience.

First off let's get the sexual content portion of the game out of the way as there may be potential players who are only interested in that or want to ignore the game because of it.

In ChronoBabes as your opponent's HP gets lower her clothes will be destroyed starting by showing breasts and then becoming fully exposed. This is as far as the game goes and there is no sex scenes at all. After the battle your opponent in the cutscene is again fully clothed and the after battle dialogue makes no mention of the nudity at all. The nudity is just there to give the player something to look at or I guess be distracted by. If you want something more than just a pretty image of a nude women this game will not provide that.

If you are a player who is not interested in the nudity aspect of the game there are four options in the game to alter this and they are: Full Nudity, Show breasts only, Hide all (uses mosaic censoring) and Without undressing. Personally I prefer the Full Nudity option as I do like the artwork in the game and think the characters are well done, but I do appreciate that this option does exist for players who are interested in the game but have a reason they would like to turn the nudity off.

The match 3 portion of the game thankfully does not play like a majority of the mobile match 3 games I have played where you beat a couple stages before the game makes using boosters a requirement or have an annoying stamina system in place. ChronoBabes goes the route where you and your opponent takes turns matching gems on the board in the attempt to deal damage to your opponent until the HP gauge reaches 0. You can accomplish this by matching gems to charge up skills that can be used to aid in the fight, match skulls to deal direct damage or match the unique item of that act which has different effects for each act in the game. There are also artifacts you can collect in the game to help provide additional aid and even buffs and debuffs to be utilized to turn the tide of battle.

After every victory you are able to choose one skill out of four that are randomly selected for you to choose between. The only issue I have with this is that you cannot reroll the skills to try and select something different. The four options you are given are what you have to choose between. While this can be good to make each run different it will be found annoying to players who either find a setup they enjoy using or achievement hunters who want to run the said skills together needed to unlock achievements.

Difficulty wise the early stages tend to be much easier as the opponent isn't as bloodthirsty and they tend to have fewer skills that aren't too difficult to deal with. As the game progresses though the opponent will get more skills which have stronger effects and will end up making smarter plays that will either match four or more to get extra turns, charge up her more dangerous skills and make plays that keep the combos going hitting the player with lots of damage and/or substantially charging her skills up. Without spoiling anything, the final boss is truly worthy of being called the final boss to the point where some players will probably think she is too strong.

I am not a pro at this type of games and do not always see the optimal play but I was able to beat the game and have fun along the way, even when I did lose (mostly to the final boss). ChronoBabes wants the player to be strategic with their moves and skill usage and rewards them for it while also punishing you for bad plays. If you make a play that sets up potential for big damage or getting extra moves, the later opponents will capitalize on that more often taking that extra move for herself or hitting you with damage you really didn't want to take.

Overall ChronoBabes is a really fun game and made me happy to find a match 3 game that was enjoyable. The gameplay is fun and the artwork is nice to look at. For the $4.99 it is going for at the time of this review, ChronoBabes is well worth it and I hope to see more done with it down the line by way of updates, DLC or sequel.

Enjoyed the demo, proceeded to impulse buy the game with no regrets.

Mirage Feathers is a rail shooter that reminded me of Space Harrier and Star Fox but more fast pace. The game includes the following modes: Tutorial, Story and Endless. Tutorial and Endless are pretty self explanatory one teaches you the ins and outs so you can get a feel for the game and the other you go as long as you can.

The story mode for this game had much more story to it than I thought it would with a prologue, epilogue and dialogue that would pop up between stages. There is an option in the game you can toggle that will allow you to skip all dialogue and play the game uninterrupted by dialogue, however I would recommend witnessing the story the first time around and using this option on a second playthrough. There is also an option to "disable the revealing costumes" as the game puts it if you wish to do so.

The game has 15 total stages and if you get a game over there is a continue option on the main menu you can use to continue from where you left off. I had to use this option my first playthrough as I tried the game on Normal difficulty with default settings and no buffs from the skill shop as I wanted to have the standard experience my first time around.

With three difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard), the skill shop with various buffs you can purchase to use for your next run (every 1 million points gives you a permanent point you can use), and even cheat codes you can use if you want to, Mirage Feathers can be accessible and fun to novices of this type of game and a real fun challenge for hardcore challenge seekers. Personally I feel the skill shop provides more than enough edge (especially on Easy difficulty) to not need cheats but I appreciate the fact that the developer put them in for players who like to use them.

For the players who do not want to use cheats, fear not as you have to go a bit out of the way to use them and cannot accidentally activate them. If you want to know more look in the guides section for the game. I was not even aware there were cheats until checking the guide section out after my first playthrough.

Overall Mirage Feathers is an enjoyable game and an impulse buy I do not regret making. I recommend trying the demo first and if you dig what you see there than you should definitely buy the full game. You should also grab the OST as well as it is pretty good.

Hopefully there will be a sequel to this game somewhere down the line or the developer makes another game of this style.

Go! Go! Hamster Chef! is one of those cute games that decides to throw a horror twist into it. Honestly the most scary thing for me was getting used to the controls for operating the scooter to maneuver through the town.

While the game is cute and worth a play, I personally think it would have been a better game if it was more fleshed out into being a cute cooking and food delivery game instead of doing the whole it starts as a cute game but is actually a horror game thing.

It's short, it's cute and not very scary but overall a fun experience.

The game is both relaxing and addictive to play with both the main mode and the daily puzzle. The main mode consists of the player helping a cute mage cat by solving a variety of different word puzzles and the daily puzzle is a puzzle that changes daily.

I like how there is a variety of different types of puzzles to solve so that every puzzle is not the same type and you can keep going back to previous stages to work for 100% completion. Personally I like seeing the spellbook at 100% completion before moving on, but you do not need to have 100% completion in a stage if you would rather move to the next stage instead.

I played the daily puzzle quite a bit in the demo version and am glad to see this game finally released even in Early Access. I am looking forward to the future of Spelly Cat and if you enjoy word puzzles of any type than you should definitely add Spelly Cat to your library.

If you give a squirrel a gun

I've gotten through the tutorial section and have to say I like how the squirrel can use the gun for combat and puzzle solving and platforming. Sometimes you may need to shoot targets, sometimes you may need to use the gun to help perform a double or triple jump across a gap, or you can use an SMG to I guess to SMG jump to help the squirrel go high into the sky. It's also funny when the squirrel falls from a high distance and hits the ground with enough force to bounce off the ground. I also like the idea that to navigate sometimes the squirrel needs a gun while, while others the squirrel needs to be unarmed so you can climb.

So far the game is pretty fun, looks good, the music is enjoyable and is just overall silly. Within the first opening moments of the game the squirrel breaks in somewhere it shouldn't be, steals a golden acorn, pisses off some agents, learns to use a gun to take out agents and perform platform jumping and escapes a base where the floor is actual lava. If that isn't a strong intro to a game I don't know what is, looking forward to playing more.

It's a fun little puzzle game where you play a cute penguin with the goal of making it to the igloo. There are a total of 100 different puzzles to complete and while some of the later ones may require you to think a bit harder, none of them are frustrating where you feel you need a guide or want to quit.

The game controls very easily where you only move and push a button to restart the puzzle if you need to. I found this puzzle game to be rather fun and relaxing to complete and also thought it was a cute touch that you could unlock hats along the way for the penguin to wear.

Truly a fun game to to play while you listen to some relaxing music and vibe, however I do find myself wishing there were more levels to complete.

The Disgaea of the Survivors genre

TLDR version: The game is fun and has lots of grinding in order to make your characters even stronger but personally feel there are not enough modes and challenges currently to tackle. It's kind of like you're playing Disgaea 1 and have beaten Baal. Sure you can make your characters stronger, but where else is there to actually go at that point to test out your new found strength? I still feel the game is fun to play and have hope that more will come in the future. More detailed review below.

I feel the comparison made in the title of this review is accurate as there is quite bit of grinding to be done in this game. At this moment in time there are 17 characters in the game each with their own skill tree to upgrade along with multiple weapons for each character that can also be upgraded.

As of this moment I have not fully finished the skill tree but here is a screenshot I took just to show off the mass scale of the thing. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2398816526337890012/A87F08CEB8D62BF5F0CE471CD98BDDF5A9098263/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
The magic number of prestige a character needs to fully complete their tree is 170 so you will be grinding a lot if you want to max every tree.

Of course you do not have to max every character if you so choose or would rather focus on a favorite but there is merit to developing more characters than just your favorite (other than getting achievements if those interest you). Every character on the skill tree has multiple upgrades you can unlock that will apply those effects to all of your characters, meaning if you want to make your favorite the strongest they can be, you want to get at least the upgrades that are applied to all characters from the other trees. Reaching certain prestige milestones with the characters will also unlock skills and runes which can be used in battles.

As you can see this game has a lot of upgrades you can unlock to make your characters super strong and give you multiple ways you can choose to build a character to find all sorts of combinations. Along with the characters having multiple weapons that have different skills attached to them and the ability to upgrade the weapon the possibilities around building your dream character do seem limitless.

Now this all sounds great and is but it is also attached to a lot of grinding to get the neccessary prestige and materials you need to unlock all of this. Some players may be turned on by this and want to grind hard at it, some may think it gives a lot to do that can be spread out over time while others may think it is excessive.

As of now 17 characters each with 4 weapons apiece, 71 runes, skill tree please see my attached screenshot link because I really do not want to count that out, and lots of skills to use in the runs, there is a lot here. But is there a purpose?

The completionist in me wants to see that skill tree maxed out and unlock all the skins for each unit and have every weapon and rune ready to go even if I don't like the character and will never use them again. While personal favorites: The Pyromancer and The Death Knight I would love to make super strong and see how far I can take them.

But more than anything else, I want to see more content in the shape of things to do with your beefed up character and not just more characters and stuff to unlock. Seeing how far and long I can survive in the Void Field maps and overcoming the Unholy Cathedral are fun, I see this as not being enough in this area. I feel the game would be even better with more focus in adding more modes and challenges to overcome with your built characters instead of adding more characters, skills, runes and weapons, something to truly test the new found strength and builds you have acquired.

I can play as Yui Hirasawa at a McDonalds slaying Jack Frost, peak gaming.

The main reason I even put this in my library was because there was a mod that let me play the girls from K-on. Now I find myself playing as Yui Hirasawa fighting a bunch of Jack Frosts from the Shin Megami Tensei series at a McDonalds. I don't even have to play with other players for this and can just admire the absurdity solo. Oh and use cute cats as medpacks and eat chips for pills and have soda for adrenaline.

I'm having enough fun playing solo with crazy mods that I would recommend this game. I might not play it the best way but it sure is fun to just goof with.

If you enjoyed Cat Quest 1 and 2 then you will enjoy Cat Quest 3 as it still holds the same humor and charm the series is known for.

As for the length of the game it does feel shorter and I think that has to do with three major factors: less dungeons, less quests, and much faster movement around the world map. For the dungeons and quests part it feels more like there was a focus on quality over quantity this time around. The dungeons feel like there was more effort and thought put into their designs and the quests feel more like complete quests. What I mean about quests as that in previous Cat Quest games you will have a questline that ends up being multiple quests instead of one single quest where in Cat Quest 3 instead of opting to split a questline into multiple quests you get one single quest.

While I would have enjoyed a few more quests and dungeons (bonus side dungeons not tied to any quests at all that challenge the player and have great loot as a reward would be great) I am satisfied Cat Quest 3 does not feel as repetitive as Cat Quest 2. To clarify I have played Cat Quest 2 on the Switch and the Xbox before playing it on Steam. When I went to beat it on Steam getting hyped for Cat Quest 3 to drop, I found myself getting burnt out on it, so the focus in Cat Quest 3 to be more quality over quantity I feel is a step in the right direction but isn't quite a perfect balance just yet.

The thing that disappoints me the most is we get some new characters: Kidd Cat, Mage Bonny and Mama Milka which is great but, I do not feel we get enough with these characters to truly make them shine. I would have liked a little more story and development put into them to better know them.

To comment on the faster movement around the map, this game gives you a boat at the beginning of the game meaning you essentially get the equivalent of water walking in Cat Quest 1 and 2 right at the start to use where in 1 and 2 you got that ability late into the main quest. It makes since being this game is focused around being a pirate and the entirety of the world map is yours to explore fairly early. Of course some spots will be much more difficult to explore first as I found out the hard way trying to go to a dungeon with level 60 foes while I wasn't even level 10 yet. I found myself having fun just sailing around exploring instead of doing the main quest I was tasked with, I actively avoided it.

I enjoyed my time with Cat Quest 3 and while I feel it could have added a bit more to do I was satisfied with my playthrough of it. I am looking forward to the future of this series to see where the bigger narrative of the series goes. Apawcalypse when?
