This game is greatly addicting and fun from the very start. Though I myself started using save-scumming to learn how to defeat various enemy types, like an undead horde, orcs and so on.
(You can quit during battle and return to just before the battle. If you initiated the battle, you can avoid it. Otherwise you still have to fight the enemy, but you can try out other tactics and restart battles with really bad RNG.)
My favourite enemies are small barbarians parties, they are the enemies where I have the least amount of injuries and deaths. I love walking back and fro to farm them. ^^
My only problem is pursuing profit over avoiding harm to NPCs. Like there is a contract which requires you to chase away refugees. That contract is the only time I failed a contract, cause I just couldn't do it. I'm a damn goody-two-shoes and I can't play any content related to robbing caravans and such. The good thing is this game often rewards doing good things with encountering good fortune. ^^
