This game is a lot of fun. The developers seem to really care about this game and are always trying to improve it. It's great to play with friends. I've never queued online with randos. I think the only downside is that the gameplay is a little repetitive. In fairness, they sort of created an entire game subgenre, so I can't be too upset. If you want to have a good laugh with your friends and get a little spooked, try this game. You won't regret it.

Until you find a particularly nasty demon.

An immersive rollercoaster. Endless frustration and reward. It keeps you coming back to that cursed ground. I hear the crows in my sleep.

A very unique blend of survival with a dash of horror, a game that continually evokes wonder and awe within me. Play it, experience it. You'll be surprised by the reaction to certain circumstances... the water is far out of the comfort zone of most humans... imagine trying to live by yourself in a deep, blue planet, with all the technology in the world but only your wits to guide you home. Love this game.

Dead by Daylight continues to enthrall me. The gameplay is cool, the world (what little we know about it) is gritty, artistically cohesive and believable, and the killers are actually scary. I think it's amazing that there are some well-known horror icons in this game (Jason excluded, but for good reason - the Friday the 13th game has so much custom content for fans), although with this new (presumably) Jigsaw update, I'm actually pining for new, original killers to add to their already-impressive roster... let me put it this way: the killers they've created are out-of-this-world in terms of originality and art design... they have effectively created the most wonderful boogeymen I've ever seen. I really, really want to see more of that, and TBH it makes me a little sad that they haven't released a new one. Like, who needs Jason when you have The Trapper? He's pretty freakin' scary.

Anyway, check this game out. They periodically (and dutifully) update and do reworks of characters that are unbalanced. The game is very much alive. There are great YouTubers to watch out there like HybridPanda, TrU3Ta1ent, or 72hrs, so if you want to know what this game is all about, watch them. I highly recommend this game and I believe they will have so much more for us in the future. Like I said though... I want more of their own boogeymen... they are honestly inspiring, coming from someone who loves all things horror. BUY IT

Just downloaded this. Thoroughly enjoyed F3 and FNV. Waited for this to go on sale, got it, great. I set to hardest difficulty and play for three hours. Can't find beds to sleep in/save, but that's fine; the game is hard, I get it. I'll just be careful.

But after clearing the raiders from the museum in Concord and going upstairs to activate power armor for the first time, I make the grave error of going around and taking a look at the new and improved look of this awesome piece of equipment. An error, because when you look at the armor from the front and access it, adding the power core, YOUR PLAYER WILL GET STUCK ON THE POWER ARMOR BECAUSE IT'S AN IN-GAME CUTSCENE AND THERE IS NO A.I. TO MOVE YOU AROUND THE SUIT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I was stuck running into the armor in this "cutscene" INDEFINITELY. And I had to undo an extra two hours or so of gameplay just to access it again because my last save was the autosave in the Vault.

It's been two years sicne this game dropped. Are you kidding me. There are STILL nasty bugs in this game, I can't believe it. I thought that people were mostly panning this title because they weren't ready to handle a few tiny bugs, or to learn the little quirks of gameplay. But seriously, I just undid a huge amount of stuff because of a glitch that wasn't my fault. How many more in-game cutscenes do I need to be careful about? I'm let down. I was ready to keep playing and even look the other way with the dialogue not lining up with the mouths...

I know there are a lot of people who work on these games. I don't want to knock the beautiful design or characters or weapons or environments or a lot of the music and sound effects... but come on. Two years later and there are still game-breaking glitches with a massive release of your $100-valued bundle? I don't know what it takes to be a play tester, but I'm inclined to want to help just so that massive projects like these DON'T have bugs.

TLDR - I'm disappointed and frustrated. It's going to be a day or two before I open this game again. I'm never the guy to complain if there are small issues and I'm almost embarrassed to add myself to the chorus of naysayers. If I could give a review without a yes or no recommendation, I would, because my playthough is still in progress... but Jesus. Really? An ancient bug that STILL breaks the game?

I wish I could say "Oh yeah, I've played this game for 500 hrs and I'm a pro" or whatever. But that's not what this review is. Here are my thoughts after binging this game for some hours with my friend.

1. What a world. So many challenges, so many things to learn, so much planning to be had. If you're not thinking about day 7 on day 1, then you're wrong. There's an underlying sense of humor to the world, but a gritty realism as well. You'll have to forge iron like an ancient Celt and you'll also kill morbidly obese tourists in Hawaiian shirts. You'll enter a genuninely-unsettling scorched-earth biome akin to Silent Hill with burning zombies and you'll encounter undead lumberjacks in the snow. You'll build a small gas-powered bike from scratch, and the book to build it is called "Minibikes for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥." What a game.

2. Play with friends. It's a great exercise in teamwork and it's a huge challenge during hordes... especially if you've changed the difficulty and added more zombies per person. Build your base together, specialize in different skill sets, make the best defenses, try not to die. As stated previously, tutorials are key to getting better at this game. Learn as much as you can.

3. The combat feels pretty good to me, and it's REALLY satisfying to smash zombies with spiked clubs. Getting a foot away from a zombie and making their head explode is deliciously enjoyable. Conversely, enemies are always a threat, and getting attacked by one with your pants down is potentially damning. Be careful, use a belt.

Aiming is lacking, particularly with the bow; you'll miss headshots half the time, which really blows because it's such a fundamentally-important weapon. The guns are fun and it carries a special sense of accomplishment to create bullets and maintain your weapons. I wish there were more, though, specifically more variety and more attachments. It's really cool though that I can stick my flashlight on my gun. It should probably require duct tape, but it doesn't.

4. As for bugs... there aren't too many to make me stay away. If you drop items, sometimes they fall though the ground. Sometimes a zombie can glitch through iron bars. Sometimes zombies spawn in places you've recently been; loot a building, kill zombies inside, come back, boom there are more. Weather can be finnicky, esp. in random gen levels, and sometimes the terrain does insane things, like spawn traders on personal plateaus or create highways that look more like The Great Wall.

But it's cool because it's still in development. Graphics aren't stellar, but it doesn't bother me and they definitely aren't BAD. You like Minecraft, right? This is the zombie mod Minecraft never had. The music and sound effects are excellent, and I wish there were more. The next update is on the way, and holy crap, there's a zombie that's as big as a house. Good luck.

Buy it. Buy it for your friends in bulk, it's cheaper. Give it some space, let it grow. Believe in it. This game is going to be something even more impressive than it already is. Many, many lubs are had. Thumbs up.

Remember when you were a little kid and you had army men, often engaging in crazy battles between transformers, Batman, and even dinosaurs? Those timeless days spent by yourself, picking up tiny pieces of plastic and following along with insane campaigns of your own demented design?

That's sort of what it's like playing Dino D-Day. You might be spraying tiny carnivores with your tommy gun one second, and the next, you'll be ragdolled against a wall, instantly slain by a flying goat. Or you might be courageously defending an ally with your trusty M1 Garand, clips flinging out of your weapon hither and thither, when suddenly you hear a mighty roar behind you, and you are mowed down by the twin chain guns of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. These things have happened to me and will assuredly happen to you.

The game is just great, goofy fun. You'll never feel TOO mad losing in this game, because there's always something dopey to laugh at. Even the loading screens, which are for my taste, a bit long, are still dominated by silly wartime documents detailing the Nazi war machine with their new reptillian additions. I am particularly fond of the newspaper article concerning a dino rendition of a grand Wagnerian opera that goes horribly wrong.

In terms of gameplay, the multiplayer is indeed frantic, and requires you to do some thinking. If you choose the wrong class for your situation/map, then that could spell doom for your team. Alternatively, a well-placed tank dino might be just what you need to hold the point long enough. And although not many people necessarily play games with that much thought, I am confident that the construction of the class system is actually well-balanced and caters to any play style.

Going back to that previous point, some may argue that certain classes are too powerful. To that I say, "phooey!" Each class has a counter-class, and the sooner you realize this, the better you'll play. As the most specific example, I've heard many people complain about the Allied character with the Garand. Yeah, he's pretty strong, especially in the hands of an expert marksman. But you put him in front of a tank dino and he's toast. Really. My point: if you're sucking, it's your own freakin' fault.

If you don't have the DLC (and I don't, although I'm going to pick it up soon), there are three basic match types: deathmatch, king of the hill, and demolition. The T-Rex spawns on a couple maps, and adds a whole new dynamic to the gameplay. The maps are also well-made and don't allow players to hide anywhere indefinitely, save for the flying raptor, who often needs that upper hand/deception to stalk and make great kills.

Anyway, if you're on the fence, I am all about this game. It's really excellent, and incredibly rewarding to people who play it either casually or otherwise. The only downside is that there is not a huge amount of people playing at the moment, which is really a shame, because this game rocks. I am looking forward to what other games the developers make.

Go on, you know you want to throw a goat.
