The Walking Dead - Game
Different character and unrelated story from the tv-series.

This game is so rich on story and character relation that you would wish you were inside the game. Weeel if it wasn't for the human-eating hordes of zombies that seems to pop up behind every corner. At least they don't run.

You play as Lee Everett - who saves a young girl, Clementine - and together they venture out to reunite Clementine with her parents, while trying to survive.

Living Thumb Up
Rich & deep story.
Every action you take, every thing you say has an impact on future choices and how people percieve you in the story.
Often you're presented with saving 1 of 2 people, who you choose and how has a huge impact on your team.
- This gives a good replay-value. - At least play it through twice.

Action buttons
- For instance when you get attacked, you need to either press some buttons, click or rotate the mouse, choose the right dialogue choice. - Everything with a timer.
This means you'll always sit on the end of your seat, adrenalin pumping. You will stay awake, just like if there was a chance a walker would break into your room while playing.

The music and the atmosphere is great, and just intense like the series.
You will also get attached to the characters, and that might be heartbreaking.

The graphic is highly cartoonish in commendation for the comic books. It's not the best, often it looks like the layers was quickly put on eachother with no thought, but it works for this comic style.
The facial expressions and mouth-movements are lagging some better details though.

The DLC is a series of short stories, but with an easter egg included.

No bugs or glitches experienced. However half the bad-reviews I read was about glitches and bugs, then sluggish movement.

Great puzzles blended well in the game.
It's also a fun little feature that the game tracks which choices the players voted, so you can see if you're mainstream or not.

Walkers Thumb Down
I was never a fast reader, sometimes had to skip-read and make a fast choice.

23£ + 5£ DLC might seem a bit expensive, but it's a game worth trying out. I bet you buy most games on discount anyway.

A skip button for cutscenes would be nice after the first playthroughs.

Moving around can be frustrating because it can be a bit robot-ish and because of the camera view. This would be really bad in "The Running Dead".

Closing Comments
Overall a good game. The story is worth it all. Far from Manure.
The Telltale story games has become somewhat a game-genre for itself; and overwhelmingly positive is worth this game.
However it is a special kind of game, so be sure you're into this sort of Puzzle-Novel-Action games before spending 23£.

Best game to show to your friends, and let them figure out the controls by themselves. While you stand back and laugh at them panicking.

Disclaimer - I don't have the Michonne Miniserie DLC.
Also Hershel hates me.

Siege Wars
Angry Birds Catapult Version.
- I've played many of these catapult games on Kongregate. -

You have 1-3 catapults and different ammo with which you need to kill different mages with by hitting them directly or destroying the castle around them; strategicaly let it fall on them.

Thumbs Up
Challenging to figure out the shot, weakpoint of the castle and which mage to kill first.

Cheap price - But not cheap enough.

Initially fun, but go to my Thumbs Down List

Thumbs Down
Buggy - This game was one of the buggiest games I've bought on steam.
- The catapult fires, but the shot is not registrered, or hangs in the air. Costing a round.
- A direct hit on the mages might not kill them.
- Achievements might not unlock.

Windowed mode
- Problems with scrolling to the levels - the resolution doesn't fit. Switching from full screen to window mode to start a level, because you want to watch por...Popular series meanwhile.

Leveling system is bad
You upgrade your different catapults as you earn coins from completing levels - However, some upgrades are required to get to some levels, but you can't reset upgrades.
Meaning: If you upgrade wrong, you have to start the game all over. - I did this 5 times.

The mages attack your catapults at random, meaning some levels are pure luck based. Contradicts the whole strategy concept, you have to retry if you loose the wrong catapult first for instance.

The Score system is wierd
- You can kill every mage with 1 shot, but you might not get enough points for 3 stars because you didn't damage enough of the castle. Especially applies to levels with 1 try.
This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up if you go for the achievement completion. - I really couldn't figure out how to get most points. - Even after getting all stars for 50 levels.

Closing Comments
You can kill some time with this game, and it is fun for an hour. - Then the frustration sets in like a bad hangover, or when you realize you got pregnant by mistake. You regret.

If you go for 100% completion, it's not worth it because of all the bugs and restarting.
Perhaps played this divided over 1 year, and it only got more bugged. - The developer abandoned the game; like I should do with my addiction to Cola - Just admit it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and stay away -

Ps. I don't know if it's better on Android.

Dwarfs!?
There is a free version of this game!
I got this game in a Tripwire-bundle.

Dwarfs is a small strategy game, where you control hordes of curious dwarfs who just can't resist digging after gold, often leading you to watch your dwarfs doom your entire village with enemies, lava or floods.
A game where dwarfs are so drunk, they voluntarily walk into lava, and no Deus Ex Machina can help!
As a standard, you need to reach a certain amount of gold to win. But there exist many more gamemodes in the paid version.

In the paid version
You get skirmish mode – which gives you sandbox, so you can create your own map. Rush mode where they just continuously breed like hamsters, but you can only let 200 die.

Dark mode – where every unexplored part of the map is dark, and you blindly send your dwarfs to explore.

Difficulty – so you can play from casual to crazy hardcore mode. Since it includes Hardcore & Tedi Hardcore mode.

Endless mode – So you can play until you’ve dug every nook & cranny.
summer carnival – where you throw axes at goblins

Base defend pack – Like a tower defence mode and yet so much different, like you dig the routes and defend with your dwarves.

Thumbs Up and Ale
It’s a fun game where every map is randomly generated – of course the game modes doesn’t change, but there’s still some good replay-value.

You get to unlock an axe for Killing Floor 1, which is good at killing Fleshpounds.

You transfer your achievements from the free version, so you don’t have to grind all over again.

More modes and higher difficulty than the free version. – It gets challenging.

Thumbs Down
You will hate your suicidal dwarves for literally trying to die in every way, possible.
All the times you start over because suddenly… Lava.

Be aware of the spider-queen, if you dislike spiders.

A few bugs can occur in getting the achievements, but I didn't see any bugs in the game. - Verify integrity of game files.

Closing Comments
A small yet frustrating and yet strangely fun game.
Try out the free version and then decide from there. – No reason to buy it if there’s a chance of disliking it, however it’s worth saving in your library and return to occasionally for a map.

Lucius I
You play as Lucius, a rich, quiet child who grew up with loving parents, but no friends, homeschooled and isolated from the world; but when you come at age, you now venture out on an adventure to meet people, grow some competences and figure out your place in the world.
Which turns out to be beside the throne of Satan since you're his son, and you grow your satanical powers by killing people.

Warning: This game contains Gore, Violence and a Creepy Child.
If you want a sandbox-mode game where you can do every sort of creative murders, don't buy this game - This is much more like a puzzle, where every murder has 1 fixed set of specific items, methods and proces.

Hail Satan - Pros
Storyline - I actually found the story quite interesting, and well told - considering the game focus on murdering the household.

Challenging puzzle murders - Since there are specific items required, it can be challenging to figure out what, how and when to use everything. Especially since the devs was on weed and bloodrush when they made this game.
Take the challenge or use a guide.

Good first part of the game, but then the murders gets less creative, much easier and short.
However you can choose completed levels at will, if you just can't get enough of killing a person.

You can walk around and destroy countless plates, glasses and bottles: and people don't care. Yes - you will be frustrated enough to do this in your search for 1 specific unknown mission piece.

Good cutscenes - But the graphic could be much better.

Often on a 75-90% Discount

Thumbs Down
The game is short - took me 13 hours without a guide - Most people say they completed it around 5-6 hours.
On top of that there's an achievement for playing 40 hours.

The controls can be a bit awkward/chunky.
Biking around was near to impossible for me, unless you want to hit every damn wall every damn 2 meters.

You can't use your powers at will, you have to make the murders appear like accidents.
- It would have been seriously cool to fly through the air surrounded by fire and mindcontrolled people thpugh.

Experienced a few bugs, mostly in the graphic - nothing that stopped the game progress though.

Closing Comments
A fun little game if you're into the whole control the world thingy - I guess you can't use Deus Ex Machina here, hmm.

Good for anger-management, you learn not to kill from anger, but from an emotionless psycho state.

Good if you have kids, preferable to have no more than 1.

Good for playing in a dark room, preferable in a huge mansion.

I will play and review Lucius II eventualy, but I hear it's much better than I- Check it out too.

Hercules III - For Equality
The 3rd puzzle/ ressource-management game in this series. So since I made 2 reviews for the previous games, i'll keep this shorter.

Here Megara armed with a frying pan will save Hercules; because he really can't do anything by himself - hence the reason he has 12 laborers and a strong woman.

Collect ressources to remove obstacles and clear the path to the different goals by almost randomly rapid clicking around the map. Deja-vu.

Thumbs Up
This sequel didn't bring much new to the table, except a female pretagonist, three-headed doggie and building your castle.

Still a decent price, but this game is much shorter than Hercules IV, V, VI
Still with trading cards.

The graphics are getting better.

Thumbs Down
The gameplay is still the same, they even removed the bossbattles, which was the only thing making the games unique in playing.

Beat it with all achievements in 7 hours, so after just spending 12 hours in the 2nd game, and 20 hours in IV & V, this one seems to be too easy and short.

Closing Comments
It's a bad version compared to the others. It feels like they ran out of ideas and implemented some half-hearted changes.
Sorry Megara, i'll go and support WonderWoman instead.

Hercules II - Now slaver of animals too
The second puzzle/ ressource-management game in this series.

Here our hero will domesticate the Cretan Bull which is running wild destroying cities because the evil Goddess Hera has frightened it. But hold on - Hera is married to Zeus, Hercules' father, making this an adoptation of Snow White proving that Stepmothers are evil.

Collect ressources to remove obstacles and clear the path to the different goals by almost randomly rapid clicking around the map, and beat your stepmother.

Thumbs Up
Seems to originaly be a mobile-game; however the conversion to pc is done well.
- Bigger screen, less eye-pain.

The narrative voice is crispy; like Tom Jones'.

All the games in the series cost 2.99£ and often is on sale seperately for up to 75-80%.
Decent price - but work for it. Good sales trick JetDogs.

Very casual if you like these kinda games.

I spend double the amount of time here than in the prequel.

Posed a challenge with the "Beat a developer's time" challenge.

Thumbs Down
The gameplay is boring in the long run; haven't changed from the prequel, and won't for the sequels either.

Little replay value since I grew bored with the gameplay - however I was challenged beating the developer's times, and that was entertaining enough.

Closing Comments
Much better than Hercules I, but still very repeating gameplay & levels.
Definetely buy it if you liked the first; however the third game went back to being bad.

Ladies and Gents - Applause to Tom Jones (music playing)
It's not unusual to play this game all alone
It's not unusual to have fun all on your own
but when I see you playing the third sequel
It's not unusual to see me cry,
oh I wanna' die

12 Slaves of Hercules
Is a puzzly & ressource/time management game, with a long series of identical sequels.

Here our Hero, Hercules, will save his wife from the evil God Hades; by having his laborers do all the work so he can relax with a Herculade's Drink.
Collect ressources to remove obstacles and clear the path to the different goals by almost randomly rapid clicking around the map.

Thumbs Up
Seems to originaly be a mobile-game; however the conversion to pc is done well.

The narrative voice is crispy - makes your knees melt.

All the games in the series cost 2.99£ and often is on sale seperately.
Decent price - but work for it.

Very casual if you like these kinda games.

Thumbs Down
The gameplay is boring in the long run;
Even if every level has a different objective and chapter has a bonus level; it's basicly just spam clicking if you're going for gold time achievements. - It's really repeating.

Short.
Took 6 hours to beat the game with every Achievement - Hercules II took much longer and posed a challenge with the "Beat a Developer's time" challenge; Hercules III - Short again.

Little replay value since I grew bored with the gameplay - and the other games are much identical in gameplay and tasks.

Closing Comments
I liked this game in the beginning, however I found it quickly became boring.
It's great if you only play a few levels at a time.
The shortness and low replay value is reason enough to vote no. - However Hercules II, IV, V had me playing the double/triple amount of time it took to finish this one.

Decent game for casuals, but reconsider putting your money another place - like stopping slavery from self-proclaimed heroes, or saving the dinosaurs from extinction.

The "I really hate my sister" game
I was more conflicted wether to give this a positive or a negative review than who I should blame for murder.

Your abusive father has decided to disinherit you from his Will in favour of your sister, whom you never forgave for eating your cookies.
You return filled with greed and anger for a happy family reunion, planning to murder your sister while getting away with it and the heritance.
Find a weapon, kill your sister, frame someone else and avoid suspicion.

Thumbs Up
A fun and alternative way of using RPGmaker.

Lots of murder weapons, people to frame and every action have consequences.
Every playthrough takes roughly 10 minutes.

Low price - often on sale.
Includes steam cards.

You can skip the intro, which is great since you highly repeat the game going for achievements.

Thumbs Down
A great concept, however even if it appears you have all the possibilities of combining any weapon, evidence and frame; you don't.
The game is too fixed on a set of combinations to succeed, which applies to the achievements. Frustrating when you make combinations, that really should work. - Predetermined puzzle.

The game is really repititve, even if it's so short.
Getting them feels like a burden, unless you only play a few playthroughs once in a while.

It seems you can only play in a very small window mode, in fullscreen the game doesn't expand, but just gets a dark border.

Easy to click the wrong dialogue choice, while clicking next in a conversation. It should be able to click outside the dialoque box in order not for this to happen.

Closing Comments
When that's said: I enjoyed my first few playthroughs a lot. For the price this game exceeded my expectations by far.
Recommendable if you don't care much for the achievements and like me; torture myself by finishing over 2 days.

Over The Hills And Far Away
A short visual novel that should be included in your history class.

Playing as William Aubrey, a deserting soldier on the run; you hide in the barn for the harsh weather & execution order for deserting.
However you find you're not alone, stuck with a Shawnee girl -May, who has too much backbone; you soon find yourself pulling out all your hair in frustration.

This novel beautifuly displays the clash of cultures, and the awkward interaction between a harsh soldier & a young cunning girl.

Thumbs Up
The story is good, not totaly original - But far from cliché.
Haven't seen a VN about the war in 1812 (or about war in general), Indians or their culture - However it heavily depends on an emotional build-up to the climax, which might not work for you.

The graphic is beautiful - the backgrounds are truly well-made and a lot of details was put into every scene. Especially the facial expressions.

The music is a beautiful orchestrial masterpiece by Yuang Chen. I still listen to the soundtrack once in a while.

I found the text well-written.
Now since May is a child, and Aubrey is not the most talkative person, the dialoque is rather simple, however that only shows their difference in persona, culture and objectives.
Aubrey's lack of energy for dealing with May, and his self-pitying will make you laugh, hate and relate.

Thumbs Down
Very short - 2-3 hours depending on your reading.

It could include more history of May's background & culture. However Aubrey doesn't know much about it, and May doesn't tell much, so it'd feel out of place, if there were too much.
Could be a DLC or extra feature for us who got interested.

Some people miss branching paths.
- It would be nice with a longer story or alternative endings. Then we can cry more.

Closing Comments
A VN set in original settings, a little short but enjoyable all the way through.
However like books; it's highly individual how you perceive the story, characters and philosophical aspects.
Or if you want to re-read the story even while knowing the ending.

The story has some similarities to Planetarian - the Reverie of a Little Planet-
Recommendable if you liked this clash between a soldier and a girl.

Murdered: Soul Suspect
For those who want to do justice in the afterlife. Really useful if you get killed and want to solve your own murder in the future, or if it already has happened.

You play as Ronan O'Connor; a detective in the town of Salem. You're hunting down an infamous serial killer called "The Bell Killer" - However after he beats you senseless, throws you out of a window and shoots you with your own gun, most people would take a long nap; but you don't.
You wake up as a ghost and you can't unite with your wife unless you solve the case, doesn't get eaten by demons and eats a lot of donuts.
Cops are really busy.

Thumbs Up To Heaven
Great story - However it is very fixed, it doesn't change on your actions (Well, you don't have action possibilities except a few sidequests)

The graphic is really compelling, a lot of details was put into this.
Combined with the story and soundeffects and you really get caught in this eerie mood. (Still laid back, since this is not a jump-scare game - But it keeps your heart pumping and alive)
Yes this game won't kill you.

You fight demons - They're easy to beat, but still difficult enough that I failed a few times rushing, or had to run & hide.
To top it up, the fight- and game mechanics works fluently.
-
I didn't experience any bugs.
However if you're an achievement hunter, be aware that you need to find every hidden object, but you can't go back and search for them once you enter the last area.

The hidden objects (collectables) give hints to the case, your past and other characters.
Just enough to get you involved with the characters.

Trading cards + decent steam backgrounds.

Thumbs Down To Hell
The story is fixed and failing an action or puzzle will let you retry it right away. No penalty.
Meaning it's a really easy game - Only fighting the demons can be a little annoying.

The game can be a little too slow paced, even if it takes around 4-5 hours to complete; but detective games are supposed to be like this I guess. Just don't compare it to a mad-shooter game.

I played this game twice to gather every collectables, and it wasn't that boring the second time;
But it doesn't have much replay value than that.

Closing Comments
A great supernatural game with a great story and atmosphere.
However it is very short and a price of 29.99£ seems to be a bit much. Get it on sale.
75% sale just confirmed - September 2017

Includes awesome ghosts, frighening demons and a museum that for once is interesting. :p
