Don't waste any money on this game. Play Farming Simulator (any version) instead. I used to make mods for FS starting back in 2009 and I thought I would try this out since it was on sale. I feel like I just wasted $10. But before I get to the bad there are some things I do like. The fertilizer and soil management is pretty cool as well as the realistic ground manipulation. Those 3 things are what made me put it on my wishlist when it was still in early access. What few equipment models they have in the game are not bad. Unfortunately that's about as far as it goes for the positives.

Now for the negatives. The worst part is that they advertise on their site a "By Gamers - For Gamers" (what games have they played I wonder? Not farming sims) I will make many comparisons with Farming Simulator because I played it and modded for it from 2009 until the 2019 version and I watched that game mature and grow over the years into a decent farming simulator. These developers should learn from the mistakes that FS made but it seems they are starting out exactly like FS did sadly. A weak game that will need a strong modding community to keep it alive unless they really start adding features in updates not DLC's. Any DLC's they try to come up with should already be in the game. As you can guess I won't buy any DLC's for this game either.

Lack of equipment- There is very little to choose from. Almost like they spent too much time making the good stuff I mentioned above and not enough time on equipment. You basically have 1 or 2 types of each thing and that's it. For example you have 1 combine to choose from. I couldn't even get the Lacotec forage harvester to work. They try to show 6 different tractors but really it's only 4 (1 tractor has a couple upgrades but it's still the same tractor) and no track vehicles, or trucks. 1 tedder, 1 windrower, 1 baler (square only), 1 forage wagon, 1 bale wagon, 1 granular fertilizer spreader, 1 cutter of each type etc etc etc. I won't name them all. Maybe they plan to let modders make this game better for them like Farming Simulator did. (yes I cut up FS over the years for their poor decisions as well)

Lack of Animals - You get beef cows....done. Nothing else, not even dairy cows. You do however get a dog that gets in your way when trying to drive, a full grown cat the mews like a newborn kitten and a rooster that sits on a haystack and never moves anywhere. Wow the options are overwhelming but at least you can see the deer and rabbits run from your tractor (some sarcasm). How about some sheep, pigs, chickens, dairy cows, I didn't play long enough to see if you can breed the beef cattle but I suspect not. I guess it's why it's CATTLE and crops.

Lack of crops (which is even more important than the animals to me) - You get Wheat, Rye, Maize, Barley and Grass. Done. Pretty much a throw back to FS 2009 version. No root crops at all (potates, beets, turnips etc). Or how about some soybeans, peas, cotton, sugarcane, etc etc etc. These guys need to learn from the mistakes of FS. Finally after years of multi fruit mods, FS added more crops. Be prepared to be underwhelmed with this game...not much going on.

I guess it should be called "Cattle Only and a Couple of Crops". I now wish I could get a refund but the 53 tutorials I had to go through used up all my time to return the game. Yes 53 not 54..I could never get the baling straw tutorial to finish. The combine filled its tank and sat there waiting for a trailer to offload to but never arrived. No more straw for me to finish baling....gave up.

Early Access Review
I don't usually write comments on early access games but the developers told me in a post that they have no intentions of making changes that are the reason I am now giving the game a thumbs down for. Maybe this will change their minds.

I would not recommend buying this game if you expect it to be like the board game, it's not even close. I bought this game expecting it to be like the 1998 version of Hasbro Interactive Axis and Allies which was like the board game only an electronic version. Unfortunately this game falls short for a couple reasons.

1. Dice: The dice and the rolling graphics are sad. They don't even look like dice and when there are multiple dice with the same number they only show 1 dice with a small quantity number next to it. The actual board game has 6 dice which are then re-rolled until all the combat has finished. The 1998 version actually had multiple rolls and multiple dice and did the same thing with multiple rolls. This game does not do that and the dice are not even animated. There is an option to show animation but it's only a cheesy outline and it doesn't keep up the hit markers if you have it turned on, even if you slow the sequence down. This does not even have the feel of a board game but more like a phone app.

2. Assigning Damage: The developers have removed the players ability to manually assign damage for each defensive action. You have a profile that you can set up but the damage will be assigned by that profile automatically so you have zero flexibility when assigning damage. This is another thing the developers said they have no intention of changing. Personally I like the option of assigning my damage during the rolls. Since it all happens automatically you can only view the log to see what happened in the combat. Even slowed down it's too fast to follow. Also, you cannot use empty troop transports as cannon fodder which was allowed in the original board game. I don't know if that has change since I played it, but all ships in a battle group should be in combat not just the armed ships.

3. Interface: The map interface is a bit confusing when moving your units. There is no drag and drop and it's all done with left click / right click of the mouse. It makes it hard to undo your moves and I found myself canceling out all of my moves and starting over many times.

The positive side is that they have a really good start on something that could be turned into a great game if they make some improvements in the interface, dice rolls, and damage assignments. I would like to see dice rolls like Hand of Fate (grab the dice with the mouse and roll them) but at a minimum they need multiple dice and multiple rolls and the option to manually assign your defensive damage.

Unfortunately for me I waited too long to get a refund so I'm stuck with this game. I can only hope they will improve it by the time it comes out of early access. If no improvements are made I will uninstall it and chalk it up as another mistake buying into early access games. I will not recommend this game to anyone expecting an electronic board game or anything like the 1998 version by Hasbro, it doesn't compare.

I liked the game concept and artistic quality so I hate giving this game a thumbs down BUT it was waaaaay to short and not challenging enough. The puzzles were too easy to figure out and too far in between with long periods of boring driving/sailing through an empty wasteland with not much to look at or do. I played 3 hours and completed the game. I saw some people finishing in even less time. When my vehicle broke in half and I limped it to the torch I though "maybe I will get a new vehicle to build and continue on. Imagine my suprise then the torch lit and the long boring fade to black ending with credits. Really? If I had beaten the game in under 2 hours, I would have asked for a refund from steam. It's the shortest game I've played on steam and it is so far the biggest waste of money for me to date. I'm upset that I spent $14.99 on this game. I usually wait for games to go on sale....guess I should have gone with my instincts. Congrats...you suckered me and alot of other people. I really hope they expand the game in the furture through updates but I would not buy any DLC's if they come out due to the easy puzzles and short game play. I won't trust this company again unless they expand this game for free and make it worth the money spent. Save your money and find a game that you will enjoy for a much longer time.

Building a bot that exceeds the Heavy bot weight limit will cause the bot to be locked out without warning if you enter it into a competition. Once you finish a career through all the open tournements, there is no way to restart with a different bot. The only way right now seems to be delete your team or start a new team. There are no collision boxes or warnings when building your bot. This can cause you to inadvertently place compents in an overlapping state which can make the bot to go into perpetual self destruct when entering the workshop and causing the game to lock out the buttons. The only way out is to force quit the application. You can actually place components outside your bot with no contact with the chassis at all. Some components have a certain mass but when you attach to the bot its actually 20X heavier causing your bot change weight classes with the addition of one item. There is no repairing of bots between matches like the original RA2 version. Very few settings to allow you to customize the game. The chase camera is so slow you have to sit still and wait for it to catch up to you or drive blind. The attach buttons in the workshop are so large that they overlap and it makes it difficult to click the one you want. Many times you have to remove the component, change the view angle and try again. This is my first steam game I acatully wanted to get a refund on. I wasn't aware of the 2 hour play time limit on games for return so I was not able to return it. If I had known about the return policy I would have returned the game after 10 minutes of play time. I think steam should remove this game from the game list and force the developers to refund money to anyone who purchased the game thinking it would be like RA2. Save your money, don't buy this game.
