This game is a Must Play

SOMA has to be one of the most interesting stories in a video game that I've played. I initially played this game because I thought it was gonna be a good sneak/stealth horror game but the game excels phenomenally at its storytelling. The stealth is pretty basic as you stay out of sight from enemies, use distractions from throwable objects; nothing too special. But the story is where it shines.

I don't want to say too much of the story but I can give the game's introduction below:

You play as Simon Jarrett. An individual that lives in Toronto, Canada, and runs a bookstore. He meets Ashley Hall and becomes close friends with her. On a drive to an unknown destination with Ashley, He gets into a dangerous car accident. Ashley, who is sitting on the passenger seat, dies in the accident while Simon is left with brain damage. Simon's brain now randomly leaks blood and will be detrimental to his health. The doctors are unable to find a treatment for this. Simon, now with a terminal illness, receives a phone call from David Munshi, a Ph.D student working on his thesis. Munshi asks Simon if he'd like to do a brain scan as the scan will be able to find a way to treat his brain injury. Simon agrees.

The game has two difficulties: Safe and Normal.
I highly recommend players to choose Safe mode as it completely removes the hide and seek part of the game as the game's story is its high point. You can explore without having to worry about getting killed by an enemy. However, feel free to play on Normal if you are fine with the sneaking and stealth aspect. Be warned that on Normal mode an enemy can be blocking your only way forward which means some areas will be a waiting game.

This is also one of those games where some parts of the story will make more sense through exploration so curiosity is welcome.

SOMA on sale
I've seen this game go on sale at 80% - 90% discount priced at $3 - $5. That is generally the best time to get it so I suggest wishlisting Soma and buying on sale.

If I had to only recommend one game for the rest of my life, It would be SOMA; That's how much I recommend this game.

@habibi omg i've been waiting for my first non-friend comment after i re-enabled it.

Memory for self:

Dead Dawg Saloon, Anonymous mode Blight. Was first chase at T L died within 5 sec. Feng picks me up. 2nd chase back at T L, used T side w/ broken wall, lasted ~15 sec. Blight left. Match progresses; Devour proc, Feng is hooked middle map. Someone cleansed Haunted G. Tried for unhook but spotted and downed near Feng. Feng unhooked as Devour is cleansed. Blight chase Feng as Renato picks me up. 3rd chase last < 3 sec at front of main; died near locker next to window. At some point, tried to get heals from Feng 2 at end of street of main building. Get interrupted as blight rushing, died at front of breakable wall at front of main next to window. Blight shakes head after as i get downed and starts humping me. Later on, all teammates dead. find hatch on back of main (next to possible basement spawn) as blight rushes towards me. Typed in endgame chat, "gg ez git gud" and left immediately.
